Abstract

Globalisasi yang tengah merambah pada masyarakat dunia dewasa ini nampaknya lebih dipahami sebagai peristiwa dan proses kebudayaan. Hal  ini berarti pula berhubungan dengan lembaga, sistem, dan strategi global  dari pelakunya. Dalam globalisasi bukan hanya merupakan fenomena  budaya melainkan juga fenomena komersial yang membentuk keseragaman tertentu sekaligus membutuhkan perbedaan tertentu sebagai identitas dalam permainan suatu sistem dunia. Dalam konteks ini bukan saja tenaga dan pemikiran yang dijual tetapi komitmen dan loyalitas dari peran aktor. Implikasi fenomena global tersebut dalam jagad seni pertunjukan agaknya sering menimbulkan mitos, yang kemudian melahirkan suatu posisi-posisi tertentu pada diri sang seniman. Mitos tersebut terlihat dari tiga sikap pada  sebagian seniman, yaitu: 1) sikap yang mengarah pada kegairahan estetika yang berlebihan sehingga sering mengabaikan nilai dari seni yang memberikan pencerahan bagi kehidupan manusia; 2) sikap yang mengarah pada semangat yang meluap-luap untuk menjadi diri pribadi tanpa disertai semangat mencari nilai yang lebih bermakna; 3) sikap yang  mengarah pada pengkultusan terhadap diri seorang tokoh tertentu yang telah menduduki posisi elite. Dengan mitos semacam itu tak pelak kemudian muncul tiga posisi seniman, yaitu: sebagai reproduktor, akomodator, dan emansipator. Masing-masing posisi mempunyai tanggung jawab dan konsekuensi sendiri.

Abstract

Apparently, the sindhèn life, today, have not been far from celebrities one or otherarties with many other styles and beautiful tricked performances. Therefore, it isnatural, that every sindhèn always wants to be popular, famous, and amazed bymany people with the result that they can do the ways to reach what they wantto. But, how to be a sindhèn, what trick to get to become a popular sindhèn, andhow to hold their existence so that they constantly get interest of wide society.The questions above will be answered in this article which is a research result ofpopular sindhèn in Semarang by using quantitative paradigm. First, the ways tobe a sindhèn has four factors, namely the way to learn, its surrounding, socialassociate, and laku brata. Second, the sindhèn popularity is appeared from theirhigh stage-performance (20 to 25 times per month), the stage area reach out ofprovince, quality of artistic trough their special style, having wide influentialsponsor, and getting compensation between four to five millions each their stage.Third, the ways of sindhèn to maintain their attractive power for society attentionare taken on such as : (1) maintaining pattern and increasing quality and itscharacteristic, namely trough the colour of their soft voices, making gregel andwiledan so that their voices always impress such as tregel, rongêh, renyah, and berakfor the listeners; (2) they must be self confidence in pesindhênan, there is no otherjob except the sindhèn , such as langgam, campursari, and keroncong dangdut; (3)they must plait together social relation to the people who have wide influence aswell as art organisations; (4) they always surrender to the god trough laku brataas their belief.Key word: sindhén, popularitas

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to investigate the role of non-formal education in strengthening cultural heritage through learning the Zapin Pecah Dua Belas dance in the local community of Riau. As an essential part of the Malay cultural tradition, this dance faces the threat of fading due to modernization and a lack of structured preservation efforts.Methodology – This research used a qualitative case study design method. Data was collected through participant observation and in-depth interviews with participants from community leaders. This research focused on the dance studio community's active involvement in the Zapin dance.Findings – The study results show that non-formal education is important in preserving local cultural heritage. This fishing process provides special skills to the dancers in moving and gathering a deep understanding of the meaning of values and cultural identity contained in the Zapin tradition. This learning process provides opportunities and encourages community involvement that strengthens the sustainability of culture among young generations in the future.Contribution – The novelty of this study lies in its emphasis on a holistic, non-formal educational approach that integrates both the technical and cultural dimensions of traditional dance. It contributes to developing educational strategies that reinforce cultural identity and heritage through community-based learning initiatives.

Abstract

Purpose – The Geol Tegalan Dance is a dance that is a characteristic as well as an icon of Tegal City, so the local government of Tegal City appeals to every level of education to teach this dance. The problems that arise in the field are primarily at the basic education level, especially in the lower classes, whose physical condition remains unstable. This means the Geol Tegalan Dance is only taught to high-grade students. In this study, the implementation of Geol Tegalan Dance learning in art learning at SD Negeri Randugunting 5, Tegal City, will be discussed.Methodology – This study uses a qualitative approach with an analytical descriptive design. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation.Findings – The study's findings indicate that the implementation of Geol Tegalan Dance learning at SD Negeri Randugunting 5 in Tegal City progressed through the planning, implementation, and evaluation stages. However, in the implementation of teaching, several obstacles arise with multiple causative factors. The obstacles faced encompass seven aspects, each caused by factors including government policies, curriculum, teachers, and students. With the existing obstacles, researchers strive to provide solutions to overcome them. The solutions provided vary according to the aspects of obstacles faced.Contribution – This research will contribute to the evaluation of dance learning in elementary schools, especially in Geol Tegalan Dance. In addition, this research can introduce Tegal's regional identity, namely Geol Tegalan Dance.
