Abstract

Stigmastan-steroid, stigma-4-ene-3-on (1) has been isolated from the bark of Chisocheton lansiocarpus. The chemical structure of stigmastan-steroid was identified based on spectroscopic data and by comparison of spectral data obtained previously. The discovery of stigma-4-ene-3-on in C. lansiocarpus was shown in this study for the first time.

Abstract

Jerawat merupakan penyakit kulit yang menyerang lebih dari 85% kalangan remaja di seluruh dunia. Penyebab terjadinya jerawat yaitu bakteri Propionibacterium acnes (P. acnes).  Tujuan dari penelitian eksperimental ini yakni untuk membuat formulasi dan menganalisis aktivitas gel ekstrak daun jeruk manis terhadap bakteri P. acnes. Ekstrak daun jeruk manis diekstraksi kemudian dilakukan formulasi gel menggunakan gelling agent karbopol dengan berbagai konsentrasi 0,5%, 1%, 1,5%, dan 2%. Selanjutnya, dilakukan uji kestabilan dan aktivitas terhadap bakteri Propionibacterium acnes menggunakan metode difusi cakram. Hasil uji stabilitas sediaan menunjukkan bahwa formulasi gel dengan karbopol 2% dan konsentrasi ekstrak 20% merupakan yang paling stabil dibanding formulasi lainnya serta memiliki aktivitas daya hambat terhadap bakteri P. acnes kategori lemah dengan zona hambat 1,8 mm. Berdasarkan hasil dari penelitian ini, sediaan gel ekstrak daun jeruk manis memiliki aktivitas daya hambat terhadap bakteri P. acnes penyebab jerawat. Lebih jauh, tanaman ini dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif pengobatan untuk mengatasi jerawat.

Abstract

Wampi belongs to Rutaceae family. The shape of this plant is kind of bush or small tree and its fruits are similar to grapples or oranges. C. lansium was reported has the main biological activity as radical scavenger. The aim of this study to identify the content of secondary metabolites found in bark, woody stems and leaves of C. lansium plants, and to determine antioxidant activity through IC50 values. This research method begins with sample preparation, plant determination, simplicia characteristic examination, extraction, characterization with infrared spectroscopy, thin layer chromatography (TLC), then proceed with antioxidant activity assay using DPPH method (2.2 -Diphenyl-1-picrylhidrazyl) with a comparison of vitamin C. The results of this study showed that C. lansium contains alkaloids and kumarin. Furthermore, antioxidant activity assay measured absorption at a wavelength of 517 nm, obtained IC50 values ​​of vitamin C 6.22 ppm; bark 231.54 ppm (weak), wood stem 131.49 ppm (weak), and leaves 22,60 ppm (strong).
