Abstract

Idioms in Japanese are called kanyouku. This study aims to describe the kanyouku translation strategies and procedures contained in the novel. The theory used in this study are the theory of idiom translation strategy according to Baker (1992) and the theory of translation procedures according to Vinay & Darbelnet in Venuti (2000). This research is a qualitative descriptive research. The data in this study are the kanyouku of the upper limbs contained in the novel Shikisai wo Motanai Tazaki Tsukuru to Kare no Junrei no Toshi (2013) by Haruki Murakami and its translation in Indonesian "Tsukuru Tazaki Without Color and the Year of His Pilgrimage" (2018) which is translated by Ribeka Ota. From the result of the analysis of 35 kanyouku it was found that the kanyouku translation strategy used by the translator was a strategy using an idiom of similar meaning and form and a paraphrasing strategy. While the translation procedures used are literal translation, transposition and equivalence.

Abstract

Concentration is one of the things that can affect the learning process. Concentration in learning is generally related to the motivation of students. If the motivation is good, then the correlation with the interest and concentration of students' learning will increase. This research is a correlational research with a quantitative approach. The data in this study were obtained by providing two types of instruments, namely a learning motivation test and a concentration test. The results of this study indicate that there is a positive influence between learning motivation and learning concentration of students of the Japanese Language Education Program at the Universitas Riau in the 2021/2022 academic year of 0.619 with a moderate or adequate category. This shows that the better the student's learning motivation, the better the student's learning concentration will be.

Abstract

This research discusses implicature in the Anime Blue Period. The purpose of the this research is to explain how the meaning and intent of  implicatures in the Anime Blue Period.  The research uses the theory proposed by Yule (1996) on implicature and uses is a the analysis theory means ends by Leech(1993). The research method  uses is a qualitative descriptive method. The data is obtained by listening to the converversation spoken by the characters, and then the utterances containing implicatures will be recorded and marked. The result of this study found as many as 20 implicature data in the Anime Blue Period, namely 7 refuse implicature, 4 mocking implicatures, 3 commanding implicatures, 4 insinuating implicatures, and 2 invites implicatures. Key Words: Implicature, cooperation principle, theory means-end.   Abstrak Penelitian ini membahas tentang implikatur dalam Anime Blue Period. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menjelaskan bagaimana fungsi implikatur dalam Anime Blue Period.  Penelitian ini menggunakan teori implikatur dari Yule (1996) dan menggunakan teori analisis cara-tujuan oleh Leech (1993). Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data diperoleh dengan cara menyimak percakapan yang dituturkan oleh para tokoh, kemudian peneliti mencatat dan menandai tuturan yang mengandung implikatur dalam Anime Blue Period. Hasil penelitian ditemukan 20 data implikatur dalam Anime Blue Period yaitu, tujuh implikatur menolak, empat implikatur mengejek, tiga implikatur memerintah, empat implikatur menyindir, dan dua implikatur mengajak. Kata Kunci: Implikatur, prinsip kerjasama, teori cara-tujuan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pemahaman mahasiswa pendidikan bahasa Jepang angkatan 2018 mengenai kanyouku ki (気), khususnya pada kanyouku 気になります(ki ni narimasu), 気をつけます (ki o tsukemasu), 気がつきます(ki ga tsukimasu), 気にします (ki ni shimasu), 気がします (ki ga shimasu), 気があります (ki ga arimasu) dan 気に入ります (ki ni irimasu). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif dengan menggunakan data berupa nilai tes mahasiswa. Data yang dianalisis sebanyak 33 data dan dari hasil penelitian ini didapatkan kesimpulan yaitu pemahaman mahasiswa pendidikan Bahasa Jepang angkatan 2018 mengenai kanyouku ki (気) berada pada kategori cukup dengan persentase tingkat pemahaman sebanyak 44,61%.

Abstract

Language and culture are two things that cannot be separated. The culture in a society of every nation is different. These cultures will affect how people communicate. One of the cultures that influence Japanese communication is the Aimai. Aimai is defined as a situation in which there is more than one intended meaning resulting in ambiguity, gloom, and uncertainty. Aimai used in communication aims to maintain harmony in social life. This study aims to examine the Aimai in the flying witch anime. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The data collection method used is the listening method with the basic technique in the form of tapping techniques and the advanced technique is the note-taking technique.data of this research is the dialogue between the characters in the flying witch anime directed by Katsusi Sakurabi. This research found 33 data containing Aimai where the Aimai that appear are words, expressions, and sentences. The data that appears the most is Aimai in the form of interrogative sentences with kana, this is indicated by the discovery of 13 data containing kana. While the least is Aimai in the form of sentences with the kanji tte where only 1 data is found. After analyzing the data, it can be concluded that the forms of Aimai in Japanese communication can be in the form of words, expressions, and sentences
