Abstract

Pipa elbow adalah komponen yang penting pada sistem perpipaan. Pipa elbow memiliki fleksibilitas yang baik, sehingga dapat mengurangi tegangan akibat ekspansi termal. Beban yang diterima oleh pipa elbow adalah beban bending, beban termal dan tekanan internal. Beban bending menyebabkan ovalisasi pada pipa elbow. Jika tekanan internal ditambahkan, maka tekanan internal akan cenderung bertindak melawan efek yang disebabkan oleh beban bending dan menunjukkan perilaku nonlinear. Beban in-plane bending dan tekanan internal yang bekerja secara bersamaan pada ping elbow tidak menunjukkan perilaku nonlinier. Pada kondisi aktual, beban yang diterima oleh pipa elbow adalah beban termal yang memberikan efek cenderung sama seperti beban in-plane bending. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan analisis untuk menilai perilaku nonlinier pipa elbow yang diberikan beban termal dan tekanan internal dibandingkan dengan beban in-plane bending dan tekanan internal. Pada penelitian ini digunakan metode elemen hingga (ANSYS Mechanical APDL). Material yang dipakai adalah titanium alloy (Ti-6Al-4V) dan diasumsikan bersifat elastic-perfectly plastic. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perilaku nonlinier hanya terjadi pada pembebanan in-plane bending dan tekanan internal. Sedangkan pada pembebanan termal dan tekanan internal tidak terjadi perilaku nonlinier. Pada pembebanan termal, tekanan internal memberikan efek yang searah dengan perpindahan yang disebabkan oleh beban termal. Pada pembebanan in-plane bending, tekanan internal memberikan efek yang berlawanan dengan perpindahan yang disebabkan oleh beban in-plane bending. Tegangan akibat beban in-plane bending lebih besar dibandingkan beban termal. Tekanan internal meningkatkan tegangan yang disebabkan pembebanan termal dan mengurangi tegangan yang disebabkan pembebanan in-plane bending

Abstract

The discussion of hydrodynamic forces becomes an important issue in determining the dynamic behaviour of the Submerged Floating Tunnel Bridge (SFTB) structure. As stated in the Morison Equation, the hydrodynamic forces are affected by the kinematics of water particles, but up to this date, there are only a few discussions for curved tube applications. This paper discusses the effect of curvature radius and depth level on hydrodynamic forces to get the correction factor for a straight tube. Tubes with variations in radius curvature (R/L) and diameter (D) were installed in a wave pool with a depth level (z/d). The hydrodynamic forces were detected by a load cell sensor placed on a pedestal at the end of the specimen. The data from the load cell was processed by the data acquisition system and displayed on the monitor screen, showing that the z/d ratio and the R/L ratio both affect the hydrodynamic forces. A larger z/d ratio (deeper) results in smaller hydrodynamic forces, while a smaller R/L ratio (more curved) results in smaller hydrodynamic forces. A correction factor (C) has been determined to calculate the hydrodynamic force on a curved tube based on the Morison equation.

Abstract

One of the problems in archipelagic countries is the land transportation system that has not been integrated between islands. In a relatively wide strait and with a high level of depth, it is impossible to build a bridge. In this case, a submerged floating tunnel bridge/SFTB would be an effective choice. SFTB is an underwater tunnel transport route submerged between the seabed and the surface. Known as the "Archimedes Bridge", the basic principle is balancing buoyancy and tension in the mooring cables. Previous studies on SFTB are still in the form of theoretical concepts and ideas. Further research is needed in all relevant sub-topics to actualize the SFTB. This article reviews previous studies, which are grouped into three sub-topics : (1) materials and construction, (2) dynamic analysis, and (3) feasibility/sustainability studies. At the end of this article, a list of research topics that need further study is presented.

Abstract

Struktur tabung kontinu telah digunakan di berbagai struktur bangunan seperti tiang, pipa, tunnel dan jembatan. Dibutuhkan analisis dinamik untuk mengetahui perilaku struktur terhadap beban yang diterimanya. Proses analisis dimulai dengan memformulasikan persamaan gerak struktur tabung kontinu berdasarkan teori Euler-Bernoulli beam. Disediakan studi kasus berupa struktur tabung kontinu dengan tumpuan sederhana yang diberikan beban harmonik terpusat. Solusi analitik diperoleh melalui metode pemisahan variabel atau superposisi mode. Sebagai alternatif, dilakukan penyelesaian secara numerik menggunakan metode beda hingga tengah. Displacement yang diperoleh dari metode pemisahan variabel menunjukkan hasil yang eksak. Metode beda hingga tengah menghasilkan hasil yang mendekati solusi analitik. Akurasi dari metode beda hingga sangat dipengaruhi oleh jarak grid   dan langkah waktu .

Abstract

Vegetable waste is leftover vegetables that are withered and rotting. Usually, vegetable waste becomes garbage that ends up in a landfill. These wastes still contain high water content and have the potential to be used as animal feed or compost. However, there are obstacles to its utilization. The main obstacle in utilizing vegetable waste to be used as animal feed is the size of the vegetable waste, which tends to be too large so that it cannot be used directly as animal feed. Therefore, we need technology that can simplify the enumeration process. A vegetable waste chopping machine is one of the right counter technologies for utilizing vegetable waste. The vegetable waste chopping machine is designed to use a horizontal shaft and is driven by an AC electric motor with a power of 1 hp. Pulley and belt mechanisms are used to reduce rotation and transmit power from the motor to the chopping blade. This chopping machine uses a half-helix blade arrangement and a parallel arrangement. Tests were carried out on this machine to determine the advantages of selecting the half helix blade arrangement pattern compared to the parallel blade arrangement pattern and the chopping capacity possessed by the machine. In this study, an experiment was carried out using a rotational speed of 1800 rpm. The chopping machine with the half helix blade arrangement has a chopping capacity of 231.4 kg/hour, more significant than the parallel blade arrangement. Abstract

Some residents of Sinar Negeri Hamlet use the nearby spring as a place to raise freshwater fish. Residents have solely utilized this spring for everyday needs up until now, and it serves as the primary water source for fish ponds. Since technology would increase residents' productivity, they are excited about the chance to employ it in Sinar Negeri hamlet. Farmers also complain that there is no lighting surrounding the cultivation ponds, which makes it challenging for fish farmers to move around and perform their duties at night. Alternative small-scale power plants known as pico hydropower plants can be used in rural locations with rivers that continuously discharge water and a relatively modest waterfall to power a turbine that generates electricity. The spring has a head of 0.75 meters and a flow rate of 0,002 m3/s. Natural resource potential can be used to generate an environmentally friendly small-scale power plant using alternative energy. Through the use of turbine technology, potential energy from the water head and flow rate is converted into electrical energy produced by a generator with an approximate output of 8,79 watts.

Abstract

Kacang sangrai merupakan salah satu jenis pengolahan kacang tanah yang memiliki potensi ekonomi yang cukup besar peluangnya di Indonesia. Kacang sangrai cukup digemari sebagai cemilan karena rasanya yang manis dan masa penyimpanannya tahan lama. Untuk dapat efektif, diperlukan pula cara penyangraian yang benar. Seperti pengaturan temperatur dan lama penyangraiannya. Adapun jenis penyangraian yang menggunakan bantuan media pasir.Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk melakukan pengujian eksperimental terhadap proses penyangraian kacang, Dimana proses penyangraian dilakukan dengan 2 variabel bebas, yaitu variasi suhu dan variasi media penyangraian. Untuk suhu menggunakan 3 variasi pengujian, yaitu 150 C, 165C, dan 180C. Sedangkan variabel media penyangraian menggunakan 2 variasi, yaitu dengan menggunakan media pasir dan tanpa menggunakan media pasir. Metode pengambilan data berupa pengambilan data eksperimental temperatur di 5 titik setiap 5 menit sekali. Dilakukan hingga kacang berubah warna kecoklatan (matang). Dari hasil pengujian, didapatkan hasil kacang sangrai yang baik pada saat pengujian temperatur 180 C dengan menggunakan bantuan media pasir. Tingkat kegosongan kacang sebesar 2% dari 1 Kg pengujian, butir kacang rusak sebanyak 18gr, lama waktu penyangraian 1 kg kacang selama 25 menit, dan pengurangan kadar air pada kacang mencapai 20%

Abstract

Smoked fish has a high economic potential to be used as a business or to cook household food, so it is appropriate if this opportunity is developed by the community. One of the areas producing smoked fish is Kampar Regency. Based on the results of a survey conducted in the area of ​​the Koto Village Mosque (Kampung Patin) Kampar Regency, it was still found that the processing process carried out by the local community still uses traditional equipment, such as using rambutan wood as fuel and a fire stove placed outside the house during the smoking process, so that the temperature of the furnace combustion cannot be controlled properly and the quality of the resulting product is not good for large-scale production, because smoke and ash often stick to the fish meat, and the fish is not evenly cooked. One way that can be done to facilitate the process of making smoked fish is to create a smoking room that can inhibit heat energy by using a rotating system that can rotate. Small holes are also made in the iron pipe in the smoking room as a flow of smoke which aims to make the fish evenly cooked. The smoking process in the oven uses a rotating system or the fish will be rotated in the oven. This study was conducted in order to produce average smoking and this study includes the quality of appearance, odor quality, taste quality, texture quality, mushroom quality, and mucus. The smoking was carried out for 2 hours, 3 hours and 4 hours. The smoking oven was designed to have a smoke chamber capacity of 6 kg with a division of 1 kg / rack. The main part of the smoking oven machine is divided into two main parts including the smoke chamber and the combustion chamber. The smoke chamber has dimensions of 75 cm long, 50 cm wide and 120 cm high while the combustion chamber has dimensions of 100 cm long, 80 cm wide and 50 cm high. The best fish smoking results were obtained at a smoking time of 3 hours with an average fish shrinkage of 42.12%. This can be seen from the level of color and weight shrinkage.

Abstract

Sosialisasi peminatan kegiatan akademik mahasiswa merupakan salah satu upaya penting dalam memberikan pemahaman dan bimbingan kepada mahasiswa untuk menentukan jalur dan fokus akademik yang sesuai dengan minat dan kemampuan mahasiswa. Kegiatan ini sangat relevan, terutama bagi mahasiswa baru, yang masih dalam proses penyesuaian dan eksplorasi terhadap berbagai bidang yang ada di program studi. Tujuan dari pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah untuk memberikan informasi yang jelas dan komprehensif mengenai peminatan kegiatan akademik di Jurusan Teknik Mesin Universitas Lampung. Sosialisasi ini dilakukan melalui berbagai metode, seperti seminar, diskusi kelompok, dan pembagian materi yang menjelaskan peminatan di bidang-bidang teknik mesin, prospek karier, serta pentingnya pemilihan peminatan yang tepat bagi pengembangan akademik dan profesional mahasiswa. Hasil yang didapatkan dari kegiatan ini adalah meningkatnya pemahaman mahasiswa tentang pentingnya peminatan yang sesuai dengan minat dan kemampuan mahasiswa, serta mempercepat proses adaptasi mahasiswa dalam menjalani perkuliahan. Sosialisasi ini diharapkan dapat memberikan dampak positif dalam meningkatkan kualitas akademik mahasiswa.

Abstract

The design of this briquette dough mixer machine is designed to mix briquette dough with a horizontal stirrer, the mixing knife used is a helix with two blades with different directions and sizes. This mixing machine uses a 1 HP AC motor with a motor speed of 1,400 Rpm, the engine also uses a 1:20 ratio gearbox, the rotation is obtained at 70 Rpm then reduced again to 50 Rpm using the pulley ratio so that the rotational speed achieved is 50 Rpm. The capacity of the mixing tube made is 10 kg in one mixing process, to be able to reach a capacity of 10 Kg requires matching the composition of the dough which consists of 5.75 Kg of charcoal, 0.287 Kg starch and 4.025 Kg water. In the process of mixing the dough, the starch is first dissolved in hot water, then slowly poured into the drum which has been filled with charcoal powder. Data collection was carried out by comparing 3 time variations, namely 10, 20 and 30 minutes. After mixing, the dough from each time variation was divided into 4 samples weighing 2.5 kg each and placed in different places. We can compare each time variation in terms of shape, texture and color so that we can analyze it. It was found from field experiments that to produce quality briquette dough, the mixing time was 30 minutes with an average power consumption of 2.49 KwH.
