Abstract

This study aimed to determine the diversity, conditions, and diversity of seagrass at Mengiat Beach Bali. The study was conducted for 1 month, January-February 2021. The study was conducted at 3 observation stations using the 50 × 50 cm quadratic transect method. There were 7 types of seagrass, namely Cymodocea rotundata, Syringodium isoetifolium, Halodule pnifolia, Halodule uniinervis, Halophiila ovalis, Thalassodendron cilliatum, and Thalassia hempriichii. The density condition of the seagrass beds at stations I, II, and III was classified as a scale of 5 with the number of stands > 175 ind/m2. The species Cymodocea rotundata had the highest density, which was 904 ind/m2. The percentage of cover condition at station I in the good criteria of a rich / healthy condition witha seagrass cover value of 61.73%, while stations II and III were in the damaged category with less rich / unhealthy conditions with value at station II of 58.44. % and station III of 45.97%. There are 10 types of associated biota found namely Tripneustes gratilla, Etisus splendisus, Linckia laevigata, Atergatis floridus, Ophiothrix fragilis, Echinometra viridis, Echinometra mathei, Echinaster luzonicus, and Fromia Milleporella.

Abstract

This research looks into the different types of slang and the functions of the slang used in the Free Guy movie. The document analysis design was combined with descriptive qualitative research. In this study, the researcher applied Allan and Burridge (2006) theory to identify the types of slang and classify its functions. Technique of analyzing the data is by watching the movie and then transcribe the dialogue from movie. The data were taken from the texts and dialogues which contained slang words or phrases uttered by the characters of the Free Guy movie. According to the findings of this study, there were five types of slang used in the Free Guy movie. They were fresh and creative (48), flippant (15), imitative (12), acronym (4), and clipping (7). The type of fresh and creative dominates the slang words used in the Free Guy movie. Regarding slang's functions, this movie used slang in seven different ways. They were to address, to humiliate, to initiate relax conversation, to form intimate atmosphere, to express impression, to reveal anger and to show intimacy. In this movie, the function of slang that occurs most frequently is to initiate relax conversation.

Abstract

Abstract

Information retrieval systems are a crucial part of data management, particularly in academic systems that store a large amount of student data. Search effectiveness is greatly influenced by the format and organization of the data. This study aims to evaluate and compare the performance of two types of tree data structures, namely Binary Search Trees and AVL Trees, in student data retrieval activities. Testing was conducted using numerical datasets reflecting student information with varying amounts of data: 20, 40, 60, 80, and 100. Parameters used in the assessment included tree height and data search duration. The algorithm was implemented using the Python programming language. The test results show that Binary Search Trees tend to have tree heights that increase significantly with increasing data volume due to the absence of a balancing mechanism. Meanwhile, AVL Trees can maintain the balance of their tree structure through a rotation process that makes the tree height more consistent. In addition, search time in AVL Trees also appears faster than Binary Search Trees, especially when the amount of data encountered is larger. Therefore, AVL Trees are considered more efficient and ideal for implementation in student data retrieval systems that require fast and stable searches.
