Abstract

Population growth followed by an increase in laundry activity generates waste if left unchecked will cause damage to aquatic biota. To overcome this need the existence of an environmentally benign laundry water treatment system such as biosystem. Biosystem used in this research with length 180 cm width 60 cm and height 40 cm filled gravel as filter media and elephant grass (pennisetum purpureum) plant. The way of operating the biosystem is by pouring the waste into a tub of biosystem and then samples waste water taken on the biosystem output. The result treatment that biosystems combined with anaerobic reservoirs decreased BOD, COD, phosphate and detergent levels by 127.09 mg/l, 161.96 mg/l, 0.8699 mg/l and 1.3228 mg/l in a single treatment on roughing horizontal flow filter for laundry water treatment. The performance of physical and biological components in biosystems combined with anaerobic reservoir effectively decreased BOD, COD, phosphate and detergent concentrations by 73.91%, 69.58%, 58.74% and 80.03% (above 50%) in one treatment. But only in lowering the effectiveness of phosphate levels is still relatively low when compared with the effectiveness of wastewater quality standards. Further research needs to be done calculations to find plants in biosystems that can thrive. In addition, further research is needed to find the operating time until the biosystem undergoes a breaktrough condition. Keywords: laundry, waste water, biosystem.

Abstract

This research involves the binding/solidification of sludge waste from the steel processing industry originating from a steel industry in West Java, namely sludge waste from the waste processing process of the iron sponge production unit (direct reduction plant) and the wire rod mill production unit using cement as the binding material in the concrete mixture. The binding of sludge waste is carried out on a laboratory scale with mixture proportions of 0, 10, 20, 30, and 40% sludge waste substitution for fine aggregate/sand. Laboratory tests on the mixture include compressive strength, elastic modulus and Poisson ratio, concrete density, permeability, environmental resistance, and leaching tests with TCLP (toxicity characteristic leaching procedure). Heavy metal leaching tests for Pb, Cd, and Zn have the highest values at a 40% mixture proportion, which are 0.065 mg/ltd, 0.234 mg/lt, values below the quality standard limits for these heavy metals, which are 5.0 mg/lt, 1.0 mg/ltd, and 50 mg/lt, respectively. Environmental resistance tests indicate that the mixture has sufficient resistance after testing through 13 cycles, with the highest weight loss in the mixture sample being 13.97%, a value below the established quality standard where the maximum weight loss is 30%.

Abstract

This study aims to test the service innovation of Sucofindo Indonesia in improving service quality as an effort to maintain firm sustainability in the era of globalization, using the grand theory of Human resource management and supporting marketing management theory applied theory of service innovation, service quality and firm sustainability. This research method uses an associative quantitative method, and a questionnaire with a population of 102 and a sampling sample of 46 using the slovin formula with four hypotheses and data processing using SPSS Version 24. The results of the study found 1. Service Quality has a positive and significant effect on Firm sustainability, 2. Service Quality has a positive and significant effect on service innovation 3. Firm sustainability has a positive and significant effect on service innovation . 4. Firm sustainability, is able to mediate service quality, against service innovation. The implications of this study produce service quality, service innovation, and firm sustainability of Sucofindo Indonesia are quite moderate and indicate that firm sustainability can mediate service quality in service innovation.

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to determine the effect of the role of the work environment and work stress on employee Turnover at Quest Hotel Kuta. This research was prepared descriptively using quantitative approach methods. In this study, the data collection instrument is in the form of a questionnaire to obtain information about a number of respondents representing a certain population which will then be carried out statistical data analysis (SPSS) to test the hypothesis that has been proposed. The results of this study found that work stress and work environment have a partial and simultaneous effect on employee Turnover at Quest Hotel Kuta Badung – Bali. From the results of the t test, calculate 2.931 > 1.985 and sig 0.006 < 0.05, meaning that Work Stress has a positive effect on Employee Turnover at Quest Hotel Kuta, Badung – Bali. For t results, calculate -2.392 > 1.985 and sig 0.022 < 0.05, meaning that the Work Environment negatively affects Employee Turnover at Quest Hotel Kuta, Badung – Bali. While the results of f calculate 106.928 > 3.09 and sig 0.000 < 0.05 means that Work Stress, Work Environment and Turnover Employee intension affect jointly (simultaneously) on Employee Performance Quest Hotel Kuta, Badung – Bali Keywords: work stress, work environment, employee performance.   Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh peran lingkungan kerja dan stress kerja terhadap Turnover karyawan di Quest Hotel Kuta Badung- Bali. Penelitian ini disusun secara deskriptif dengan menggunakan metode pendekatan kuantitatif. Dalam penelitian ini instrumen pengumpulan data berupa kuesioner untuk mendapatkan informasi tentang sejumlah responden yang mewakili populasi tertentu yang kemudian akan dilakukan analisis data secara statistik (SPSS) untuk menguji hipotesis yang telah diajukan. Hasil dari penelitian ini ditemukan bahwa stress kerja dan lingkungan kerja berpengaruh secara parsial dan simultan terhadap Turnover karyawan pada Quest Hotel Kuta Badung- Bali. Dari hasil uji t hitung 2,931 > 1,985 dan sig 0,006 < 0,05 artinya Stres Kerja berpengaruh positif terhadap Turnover Karyawan pada Quest Hotel Kuta Badung- Bali. Untuk hasil t hitung -2,392 > 1,985 dan sig 0,022 < 0,05 artinya Lingkungan Kerja berpengaruh negatif terhadap Turnover Karyawan pada Quest Hotel Kuta Badung- Bali. Abstract

The increasing number of motor vehicles each year has led to worsening air quality, with vehicle emissions being a major source of urban air pollution. This study aims to examine and compare the characteristics of cassava leaves growing in areas prone to traffic congestion. High pollution levels contribute to noticeable changes on the leaf surfaces. The research was conducted by collecting two leaf samples from different locations: (1) a roadside with heavy vehicle traffic and (2) a privately owned garden. The observed parameters included leaf color, texture, and the underside of the leaves. The results showed that cassava leaves exposed to high pollution levels experienced color changes (yellowish spots on the surface), rougher textures, and the presence of black dots or dirt particles on the underside, resembling vehicle emission residues. In contrast, leaves collected from the garden appeared unaffected by such conditions. These findings confirm that vehicle emissions significantly impact the characteristics of plant leaves.

Abstract

The government has built a Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) to reduce environmental pollution. Suwung WWTP is a liquid waste treatment unit constructed using an aerated lagoon and sedimentation pond system to treat household wastewater in the areas around Denpasar, Sanur, and Kuta. The purpose of this study is to understand the technical design of the aerated lagoon unit at Suwung WWTP in Denpasar. This study uses a comparison of aerated lagoon design criteria with existing data from the aerated lagoon at Suwung WWTP. The study results on the quality of influent and effluent from the aeration ponds at Suwung WWTP have met quality standards according to the Bali Governor Regulation Number 16 of 2016 regarding BOD, TSS, pH, and DO parameters. The effectiveness of BOD removal in aerated lagoon I was 34.04% and in aerated lagoon II was 24.68%, while the TSS removal in aerated lagoon I was 23.72% and in aerated lagoon II was 11.68%. The existing aerated lagoon design complies with the design criteria indicators for aerobic flow through as per Annex II of PUPR Regulation No. 04 of 2017.
