Abstract

We derive the field equation of f(T) gravity at the weak field limit obtained by teleparallel Lagrange action of a function of torsion scalar T. The weak field limit in teleparallel gravity is to assume that tetrad experiences small perturbation and ignore the higher order. Tetrad perturbation is equivalent to metric perturbation in general relativity and can be transformed into one another. If we take the special case f(T) = T then the equation will be equivalent to the gravitational field equation obtained by the Einstein-Hilbert action. The equation of fields is simplified using the trace reversed method for metric perturbation and Lorentz gauge condition. The final equation has the form of the wave equation with an additional derivative of function f(T). Technically, this equation is the gravitational waves equation in terms of f(T) gravity. In a vacuum with zero energy and momentum tensor, the field equation reduces to the gravitational waves equation in a vacuum.

Abstract

Sumber daya air merupakan hal penting bagi masyarakat karena air merupakan kebutuhan pokok makhluk hidup termasuk manusia. Meningkatnya populasi manusia disertai dengan perkembangan sektor pembangunan mengakibatkan kebutuhan akan air bersih sangat tinggi. Di sisi lain, pencemaran lingkungan dan pemanasan global telah menyebabkan sumber air bersih di permukaan terus berkurang. Perlu dilakukan eksplorasi air tanah bawah permukaan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan terhadap air bersih. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan sebaran dan kedalaman lapisan akuifer, yang berpotensi menyimpan cadangan air bawah tanah. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode geolistrik resistivitas konfigurasi schlumberger. Akuisisi data dilakukan menggunakan 16 lintasan dengan panjang masing-masing lintasan yaitu 200 m. Pengolahan data dilakukan menggunakan perangkat lunak Res2Dinv dan perangkat lunak Surfer. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa dari 16 lintasan pengukuran, lapisan akuifer yang dapat diinterpretasi mengandung air tanah terletak antara 1035’50’’ - 1036’40’’ Lintang Selatan dan 103030’50’’ - 104031’40’’ Bujur Timur mengarah ke selatan dengan kedalaman 50 - 100 meter.

Abstract

The inertial frame dragging effect of rotating neutron star has been studied. Inertial frame dragging effect, also well known as Lense Thirring effect, has been predicted using general theory of relativity in 1918. When the neutron star rotates very quickly, the space time around it will be dragged to the direction of the rotation. The Lense Thirring effect is small enough for small objects so it will be clearly seen for massive objects like compact stars, especially neutron star. Later, we derive the equation of frame dragging rate () inside the rotating neutron star, which is axisymmetrik and stationary. Frame dragging rate is decreasing from the center to the surface of stars. It is also noted that is proportional to the angular velocity of star.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan pengujian akurasi sistem kendali temperatur pada tungku pembakaran produksi biochar. Pengujian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keakuratan sistem kendali temperatur pada tungku pembakaran produksi biochar. Metode pengujian yang dilakukan yaitu dengan cara mengatur suhu tungku pembakaran pada temperatur maksimal yaitu sebesar 4000C. Berdasarkan pengujian yang telah dilakukan diperoleh bahwa sistem dapat bekerja dengan baik sampai mencapai dimana tingkat keakuratan maksimal yang diperoleh sebesar 99%.

Abstract

Early detection of landslides is very important to minimize the number of deaths. Technological developments allow humans to predict the signs of landslides more accurately, quickly, and scientifically. In this study, sensors were tested to measure landslide disaster parameters, namely humidity sensors to measure soil moisture and flex sensors to measure soil movement. The sensor is controlled using a microcontroller Arduino Uno. A functionality test was carried out to test the ability of the sensors. The functionality test was carried out using the unit testing method. The unit testing method is carried out by comparing the functional test results of each sensor to the expected response. The moisture sensor functionality test shows that the sensor is able to respond to changes in water content in the soil with changes in voltage. The linear equation resulting from the calibration of the humidity sensor is y = -0.126x + 2.666 with R2 = 0.871. The flex sensor functionality test shows that the sensor is able to detect soil movement in the presence of changes in voltage. The linear equation resulting from the flex sensor calibration is y = -2.861x + 2507 with R2 = 0.964. This shows that the humidity sensor and flex sensor are good enough to be applied in the design of a landslide detection system.

Abstract

A case based learning method has been implemented in the mechanics course. Learning activity is carried out online through Universitas Jambi e-learning website and Zoom Meeting platform. This method produces learning instruments, namely learning outcomes for graduates of mechanics course, syllabus and lecture contracts, Semester lesson Plans, Student Project Task Plans, Learning Outcomes Assessment Sheets for case based learning model with reviewed. This research was accomplished through the observation and evaluation stages. The observation are carried out by observing the class activities, starting with the stages of finding cases, solving cases, presenting the solved cases in front of the class, and discussion. The evaluation stage is indicated by the results of the student satisfication questionnaire about the learning method used. The results of the questionnaire showed that more than 80% of students were satisfied and interested in the case based learning method.

Abstract

Rainfall is one of the important natural factors influencing flood and drought conditions, and directly affects regional water resources and agricultural production. In general, weather conditions in a place and time tend to vary, so information about weather conditions is needed through rainfall predictions. The prediction method used is the backpropagation artificial neural network (ANN) method which is arranged according to the learning algorithm that will be used. This study uses four stages, namely data collection, data preprocessing, data processing, and research data analysis. The secondary data used is rainfall from 2014-2022 in Muaro Jambi Regency. Based on the results of testing the number of neurons in the hidden layer, it shows that the more the number of neurons, the higher the error value generated. This is because the training function used is saturated. Where the training function used has parameters that can increase and decrease the value of the learning rate. Next, compare the predictions for 2022 between BMKG data and predictions for ANN backpropagation. Based on the analysis of predictions for 2022 for rainfall and humidity, an average accuracy of 97.82% is obtained. This shows that the result of the ANN method is quite good in predicting rainfall.

Abstract

Penulisan tugas akhir menjadi kewajiban setiap mahasiswa sebelum menyelesaikan masa studinya. aplikasi yang sering digunakan dalam penulisan adalah Microsoft Word. Beberapa mahasiswa masih terlalu asing dalam menggunakan fitur-fitur advanced dalam Microsoft Word. Selain itu, dalam penulisan tugas akhir membutuhkan referensi sebagai tinjauan pustaka tentang topik penelitian yang dipilih. Beberapa mahasiswa masih mengalami kesalahan dan kebingungan dalam menulis daftar pustaka dan menulis kutipan secara rapi di tulisannya. Oleh karena itu, dilakukan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat oleh tim dosen prodi fisika Universitas Jambi dengan tema “Peningkatan Advanced Skill pada Fitur Microsoft Word dan Software Mendeley untuk Membantu Mahasiswa dalam Penyusunan Tugas Akhir”. Program pengabdian ini ditujukan untuk mahasiswa di lingkungan Fakultas Sains dan Teknologi. Metode kegiatan yang dilakukan berupa workshop pemaparan materi dan diikuti dengan bimbingan intensif kepada beberapa mahasiswa. Kegiatan workshop dilakukan secara daring pada tanggal 5 September 2020 dan diikuti oleh 50 mahasiswa yang sedang atau akan melaksanakan tugas akhir. Setelah pelatihan selesai, dipilih beberapa mahasiswa dari peserta yang sedang melaksanakan Tugas Akhir untuk mengikuti pendampingan intensif. Dalam kegiatan ini mahasiswa memahami dan dapat mempraktekkan secara langsung fitur-fitur microsoft word dan software mendeley dalam tugas akhir mereka. Pelatihan ini memberikan banyak manfaat kepada mahasiswa terutama dalam penulisan daftar pustaka, penyusunan halaman, dan membuat gambar atau tabel. Abstract

Hydroxyapatite (HAp) biomaterials have been successfully obtained from Channa striata and Scomberomorus commerso fish bone. Heat treatment was chosen as the method to get it. Heat treatment was done at 400oC, 600oC, and 800oC. The X-ray diffractometer (XRD) was used to determine the crystalline phase and crystallography properties. Based on XRD data and JCPDS 09-0432, all samples showed the phase of HAp. However, the β-TCP phase has been found in samples from Scomberomorus commerso, which calcined at 600oC and 800oC. The crystallite size of HAp from Channa striata fish bone increased as followed by higher temperature, and Scomberomorus commerso has the same crystallite size on samples that calcined at 600oC and 800oC. The microstrain of both samples has the same trend: the higher the temperature, the lower the microstrain. The temperature also affected the crystallinity sample; the higher the calcined temperature, the improved crystallinity. Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) data determined the functional groups of samples. The functional groups that appeared were OH-, PO43-, and CO32-. The mass of samples before calcined differs from after calcined, where the mass after calcined is smaller than before. The higher the temperature we used, the more decreased yield percentage we got.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan ekstraksi hidroksiapatit (HAp) dari tulang ikan tenggiri (Scomberomorus commersoni) menggunakan metode heat treatment. Penelitian bertujuan melihat pengaruh suhu yang  diberikan kepada sampel terhadap ukuran kristal dan derajat kristalinitas. Heat treatment dilakukan pada suhu 400OC, 600OC dan 800OC masing-masing selama 3 jam terhadap sampel yang telah di preparasi. Hasil analisis XRD menunjukkan adanya puncak  yang terbentuk pada sudut 2θ 25,950; 31,880; 39,620; 44,410; 46,700; 49,400 untuk suhu 400OC, 31,780; 32,800; 34,610 pada suhu 600OC dan 31,760; 32,210; 32,940; 34,070 pada suhu 800OC yang disesuaikan dengan referensi JCPDS 090432. Pada suhu 400OC, 600OC dan 800OC diperoleh ukuran kristal berturut-turut 12,05 nm, 14,18 nm dan  42,55 nm dan  derajat kristalinitas bernilai 41,91%, 76,38% dan 87,29%. Spektrum FTIR menunjukkan bahwa, semakin tinggi suhu maka lembah yang terbentuk semakin tajam dan adanya gugus fungsi OH-, dan  yang merupakan karakteristik dari gugus fungsi HAp, selain itu muncul pula gugus H2O. Karakterisasi SEM menunjukkan morfologi berbentuk bulk.
