Abstract

Energi listrik merupakan kebutuhan primer yang terus berkembang seiring dengan perkembangan teknologi. Peningkatan ini perlu diimbangi dengan pemenuhan kebutuhan akan energi listrik yang merata kepada konsumen yang berada dipelosok daerah terpencil sekalipun, seperti yang berada dikabupaten Siak Sri Indrapura. Untuk meningkatkan kebutuhan akan energi listrik tersebut adalah harus dilakukannya pembangunan pusat pembangkit listrik yang baru dari pihak produsen yaitu PT. PLN (Perusahaan Listrik Negara). PT. PLN (Persero) Rayon Siak Sri Indrapura merupakan penyuplai energy listrik di wilayah Kabupaten Sri Indrapura menggunakan Pusat Listrik Tenaga Diesel dengan kapasitas daya sebesar 25 MW. Permasalahan utama pada sistem distribusi adalah tegangan terima pada ujung saluran transformator DY 061 sebesar 17,975 kV dan rugi daya menjadi 27,694 kW. Rekonfigurasi dilakukan antara Penyulang Saphire dengan Penyulang Bacan untuk mengatasi tegangan jatuh dan rugi daya. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan dan diperoleh tegangan terima sebesar 19,027 kV pada transformator DY 061 dan rugi daya aktif sebesar 1,504 kW serta rugi-rugi daya reaktif sebesar 4,049 kVAr

Abstract

Powder technology is one of the most frequently used alumina manufacturing processes. The powder must be made as small as possible because the mechanical strength of the ceramic is inversely proportional to the size of the powder. Powder grinding can be done using a horizontal ball mill. Ball mill is equipment that functions to grind powdered material with the help of grinding balls inside it. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of variations in the rotational speed of the mill jar on the quality of alumina powder products at room temperature. The research method used is the experimental method by testing the alumina powder material with variations in the rotation speed of the mill jar 100 rpm, 125 rpm, 150 rpm, 175 rpm, 200 rpm, 225 rpm and 250 rpm. The results of the study showed that variations in the rotational speed of the mill jar affected the size of the alumina powder which was ground using a ball mill. The best mill jar rotation speed from this test was 150 rpm, resulting in a sub-micron size percentage of 8.0% and a reduction in the size of alumina powder from 70.28 µm to 44.07 µm.

Abstract

Hydroxyapatite (HA), a calcium phosphate-based bioceramic, is widely recognized for its excellent biocompatibility and bioactivity, making it suitable for biomedical applications. This study aims to synthesize HA from waste bones of the pleco fish (Hypostomus plecostomus), a natural source of calcium and phosphate that is underutilized in West Sumatera. The synthesis was conducted through calcination at 900 °C followed by mechanical refinement using ball milling for 3, 6, and 9 hours. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis confirmed the formation of crystalline HA with dominant peaks at 25.9°; 31.8°; and 32.9°, which remained stable across all milling durations.

Abstract

Research has been conducted on the effect of Zirconia Ball on the volume of Mill Jar in the process of smoothing Alumina ceramic powder with Horizontal Ball Mill tool. The research was conducted by adjusting the percentage variation of Zirconia Ball by 30%, 40%, 50%, 60%, 70%, and 80% of the Mill Jar capacity. Then the Particle Size Analyzer (PSA) test, observation of Alumina powder shape with Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), and phase testing with X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) were conducted. From the PSA test results, it was found that the best pulverization results with the smallest results were found in the volume setting of 40% of the Mill Jar capacity carried out at a horizontal ball mill rotation of 150 rpm for 6 hours. These results were proven through PSA and SEM tests, and no Zirconia Ball contamination was found in the Alumina powder pulverization results.

Abstract

Biomass development has been a key issue for the past few decades and will remain attractive in the future because of its cleanliness, renewability, carbon neutrality, and other advantages. This study aims to determine the optimal holding time for heating system briquettes by testing the heating value of empty fruit bunches fibers. The process of this research involves the use of one unit of briquette molding equipment by providing a heating system to the mold cylinder. Fibers were manually finetuned until they reached a size of 20 mesh (0.84 mm). Densification temperature is an essential factor that could affect the combustion properties, especially the calorific value. The Arduino program is used for setting the heating resistance time of the mold, which is 15, 20, and 25 min at a temperature of 200 ºC, and the thermal controller is used to adjust the temperature variation. Results showed that the highest calorific value of the three varieties of holding time was at 25 min with a calorific value of 4480.2 cal/g, and the lowest cost at 15 min was 4022 cal/g. Meanwhile, a calorific value of 4432.5 cal/g was found at 20 min. This finding is due to the low moisture content and high charcoal content of the sample in the 25 min briquette mold. Therefore, briquettes at 25 min have a higher heating value compared with those at 15 and 20 min holding time.
