Abstract

Tingkat keterampilan pemodelan matematis di kalangan mahasiswa calon guru IPA, masih berada dalam kategori cukup dan rendah sehingga perlu ditingkatkan. Pada penelitian ini pengembangan keterampilan pemodelan matematis dilakukan dengan mengaplikasikan model pembelajaran ALLR (activity based, lesson learned, reflection) dalam kegiatan perkuliahan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan dua tahap, yaitu tahap persiapan (penyusunan buku model pembelajaran ALLR dan perangkat pembelajaran yang kemudian divalidasi dengan kategori valid) dan tahap penerapan pada Mata Kuliah Dasar-dasar IPA, khususnya materi pegas dan getaran dengan menggunakan desain one shot case study. Subjek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa calon guru IPA PTN di Jawa Timur Indonesia yang berjumlah 28 mahasiswa. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan tes dan rubrik. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif dengan representasi yang berupa tabel yang memuat nilai rata-rata, SD, persentase ketuntasan terhadap KKM, dan deskripsi dalam bentuk histogram. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Model pembelajaran ALLR dapat digunakan untuk mengembangkan keterampilan matematis bagi calon guru IPA. Adapun saran yang disampaikan adalah keterampilan pemodelan matematis ini masih perlu terus dilatihkan pada berbagai MK yang relevan dengan model pembelajaran ALLR. Developing of mathematical modelling skills for science pre-service teachers AbstractMathematical modelling skills level of pre service teachers is still on average and low category, so it needs to be improved. This study aimed to develop pre service teachers’ mathematical modelling skills by applying the ALLR (activity based, lesson learn, and reflection) learning model. This study was conducted in two stages, namely preparation stage and application stage. The first stage was the stage to prepare the ALLR learning model book, lesson plan, and student worksheet which have a valid category. Second stage was applied the lesson plan and the students worksheet using ALLR learning model to enhance mathematical modelling skills in the Basic Science Course. The topic discussed in this course was spring and vibration. The design of this study was one shot case study design. The subjects were 28 pre-service teachers of East Java, Indonesia. Data were collected by giving a test and rubrics. Then, the data were analysed descriptively and quantitatively in the form of table consist of the students’ achievement. The results showed that the lesson plan and student worksheet applied using ALLR learning model improved pre-service teachers’ mathematical modelling skills. It is suggested that mathematical modelling skills need to be trained in many other courses by applying ALLR learning model.

Abstract

The current development of society demonstrates openness in evaluating various aspects of life, including understanding towards religious matter. In another side, this fact turns into a challenge because some people, especially some Muslims, are still exclusive. Responding to the challenge, Islam as a set of universal principle should operate in providing solutions through its views upon the essence of multiculturalism. This paper examines theoretically the factual reality of multiculturalism in Indonesia, how Islam positions multiculturalism, and views for educational institutions in developing multiculturalism perspectives to grow inclusive attitudes in society. The results of the study show that the multiculturalism facts in Indonesia cannot be neglegted and must be maintained and developed by promoting tolerance and justice. In Islamic perspectives, multiculturalism is a fact that is often found in the al-Qur’an and Hadith as well as in the historical records of the Prophet’s life. Through educational channels, the perspective of multiculturalism can be disseminated to develop a society that respects the value and practice of the multiculturalism itself.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan Lembar Kerja Mahasiswa (LKM) Dasar-dasar IPA yang diharapkan dapat membekali mahasiswa calon guru IPA dengan keterampilan proses sains sekaligus nilai-nilai positif melalui pendidikan karakter. Pendidikan karakter ini dianggap perlu karena maraknya konflik-konflik intoleransi dan keadilan sosial yang terjadi di masyarakat akhi-akhir ini. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa nilai-nilai integritas bangsa Indonesia perlu mendapatkan perhatian, terutama dalam hal etika, moral, dan kepercayaan. Pentingnya nilai-nilai ini karena semangat gotong royong dan saling bekerjasama merupakan karakter Bangsa Indonesia. LKM yang dikembangkan melalui tahapan perancangan, penyusunan, validasi, dan revisi sehingga dihasilkan produk LKM Dasar-dasar IPA berbasis model ALLR (Activity Based-Lesson Learn-Reflection). Hasil pengembangan LKM menghasilkan empat kegiatan LKM yang dibagi menurut topik pembahasan yang berbeda-beda dengan menggunakan serangkaian aktivitas yang diharapkan dapat meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains. Selain itu, LKM juga dirancang untuk pengintegrasikan pendidikan melalui pembelajaran pemaknaan konten-konten IPA ke dalam nilai-nilai positif yang berkaitan dengan nilai toleransi dan keadilan sosial. Hasil validasi menunjukkan bahwa LKM Dasar-dasar IPA layak digunakan dengan nilai presentase validasi LKM 1 sebesar 76.79%, LKM 2 sebesar 82.14%, LKM 3 sebesar 92.85%, dan LKM 4 sebesar 76.78%.

Abstract

Logical thinking is a way of thinking that leads a person to be able to make correct statements and decisions based on logic and rationale. This skill is indispensable in communicating and writing scientific papers. Based on preliminary observations made, this is one of the obstacles experienced by PPKn teachers in Magetan in scientific writing. Therefore, through this logical thinking exercise, efforts were made to strengthen the logical thinking skills of teachers who are members of the MGMP PPKn Magetan. In accordance with that, the purpose of this service activity is to increase teacher understanding of the rules of logical thinking and increase the ability of teachers to think logically in the context of scientific writing. The activity which was attended by 25 PPKn teachers was carried out at SMA Negeri 1 Magetan, with stages: revealing fallacy in thinking through exercises, discussions about logical thinking fallacies, strengthening logical thinking rules, and logic-based writing exercises. This service activity has been successful in improving the basics of the teacher's ability to think logically. The teacher better understands that in writing, careful thinking logic is needed, the ability to compose simple logical writing also increases, but to be able to write scientifically that can be published, further training and assistance is needed.
