Abstract

The aims of this research is to know the effect of heat shock 34oC and starvation of  the tobacco,  Nicotiana  tabacum  L.  cv. Vorstenlanden  microspore. Isolated  microspore subjected  to  stress  by  culturing  in  starvation  B medium  and incubated  at 34 oC for  7 days in  dark. After 7 days in  starvation  medium the  microspore  were  subcultured  to  theen-rbriogenesis  medium (A2  mediun-r),  incubated  in  dark  during  4 weeks at25u  C. Result slrowed that  late  uninucleat  microspore  was found  in  the  bud  with  flower  erown size (9-10) mm  with precentage  of 69%. After stres  cytoplasm  of  the  microspore nrorfologycally  change,  showed star like  (tipe-3)  21%  . Multicellular microspore  was for"rnd  in  the  embriogenesis  medium  at 4%  in  the  cv Vorstenlanden.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the growth of mustard green (Brassica juncea L.) by addion Paitan leaves (Tithonia diversifolia) based compost at different doses and to determine the optimum dose of compost. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with one factor that is the dose of Paitan leaves based compost and the treatments were: A1 = 0.25 kg of compost, A2 = 0.5 kg of compost, A3 = 0.75 kg of compost, A4 = 1 kg of compost, A5 = 1.25 kg of compost and control (without compost), and each treatment was added by the soil so that the total weight was 2.5 kg in each polybag. Observation parameters were the plant height, leaf number, leaf length, leaf width, wet weight and dry weight of plants. The data were tested with Analysis of Variant (ANOVA) and followed by LSD test at 5% level. Based on the results of this study, it was concluded that the growth of mustard green plant by addition Paitan leaves based compost at various doses showed different growth of plants. the A3 Treatment is the most optimum dose to raise the growth of mustard green.

Abstract

Desa Somongari saat ini sedang merintis pemanfaatan pekarangan untuk penanaman sayuran. Salah satu upaya untukmengoptimalkan program tersebut adalah dengan pembuatan kompos secara mandiri oleh warga. Pengomposandengan metode takakura dapat mengubah sampah rumah tangga menjadi pupuk yang berguna bagi tanaman. Pelatihanini dilakukan dengan tujuan agar warga Desa Somongari dapat membuat kompos menggunakan metode takakura darisampah rumah tangga sehingga hasilnya dapat diaplikasikan sebagai pupuk bagi sayuran yang mereka tanam. Tahapandalam pelatihan ini meliputi tahap persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penyampaianmateri adalah ceramah, demonstrasi dan praktek langsung. Berdasarkan nilai pretest dan postest yang diambil masingmasingsebelum dan sesudah pelatihan, diketahui adanya peningkatan pemahaman warga Desa Somongari terkaitpembuatan pupuk komposmenggunakan metode takakura Kata Kunci : kompos, somongari, takakura

Abstract

Plant morphology plays a crucial role in biological education, yet it often faces challenges regarding the effectiveness of its learning models. This preliminary study aims to identify student needs in plant morphology learning. A survey method was used to collect data on student opinions, understanding, difficulties, and attitudes after completing the plant morphology course through a questionnaire. The study was conducted from December 2024 to January 2025. The sample selection used a purposive sampling technique, with 128 respondents consisting of Biology and Biology Education students at UAD. Data were collected using a Google Form-based questionnaire. Research variables were measured using a Likert scale, along with binary yes/no options to assess respondents' agreement with various statements, as well as several open-ended questions. The study results show that 99% of students consider plant morphology an important course. However, students still find difficulties in learning plant morphology, particularly in the topics of flower parts, floral formulas, and floral diagrams (55.5%). The study found that students prefer environmental learning resources to better master the material. Practical and observational methods were selected by 84% of students as preferred learning. Furthermore, 90% of students emphasized the importance of outdoor learning experiences due to direct involvement with nature, and 86% expressed willingness to participate. Thus, it can be concluded that a learning model incorporating outdoor experiences is needed for plant morphology courses

Abstract

This research is an exploratory study conducted in Batang Regency. The research samples, namely bitter mustard (Brassica juncea L.) and petsai (Brassica pekinensia L.) leaves, were collected in December 2022. The selection of research samples is based on the level of production and availability. The data analysis method used in the research is descriptive quantitative analysis. The results showed that bitter mustard (Brassica juncea L.) and petsai mustard (Brassica pekinensia L.) have the same epidermal characteristics, namely irregularly shaped epidermal cells with notched cell wall edges and elongated polygonal cells with flat cell wall edges. The epidermal derivatives found are stomata and trichomes. The stomata of the study sample have anisocytic type, closed slit condition, but have different sizes (length and width), index and density. Trichomes have a simple needle-like hair type on the edge of the leaf, but have different sizes (length and width). The differences in the research samples can be observed quantitatively.

Abstract

Permasalahan utama yang dihadapi oleh warga Kalurahan ArgodadiI adalah keterbatasan pengetahuan dan keterampilan budidaya melon secara modern. Sehingga perlu dilakukan pendampingan untuk budi daya melon dengan menggunakan metode yang lebih modern yaitu dengan metode hidroponik Machida. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian yang dilakukan adalah untuk menambah pengetahuan warga Kalurahan Argodadi tentang budi daya melon secara modern dengan memanfaatkan lahan terbatas dengan metode hidroponik Machida. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan ini menggunakan pendekatan Participatory Learning and Action (PLA), di mana warga dilibatkan aktif dalam setiap tahap, mulai dari perencanaan hingga evaluasi, guna menjamin keberlanjutan program. Kegiatan pengabdian yang dilakukan dimulai dengan pelatihan dan dilanjutkan dengan pendampingan budi daya melon. Kegiatan pendampingan dilakukan mulai dari persiapan lahan, pembenihan bibit melon sampai pada penanaman melon. Berdasarkan kegiatan pengabdian yang telah dilakukan diperoleh hasil peningkatan pengetahuan warga Kalurahan Argodadi tentang budi daya melon secara modern dengan menggunakan metode hidroponik teknik machida).
