Abstract

This study investigates the management of group loans by the Bandungan District Community Empowerment Trust Fund (CETF) to enhance women's economic independence. Specifically, it examines the operational challenges, management strategies, and their impact on beneficiaries. Using a qualitative approach, the research involved in-depth interviews and observations of CETF management (IVCA, Financial Management Unit, Supervisory Body, and Verification Team) and 60 Women's Savings and Loans (WSL) group administrators. The study identifies key obstacles, such as financial instability, behavioral issues among members, and managerial inefficiencies. To address these, CETF implemented mentoring, training, and joint responsibility systems tailored to local contexts. These strategies have resulted in a 98% repayment rate, demonstrating the effectiveness of a community-based microfinance approach. This research is distinctive in its focus on rural women, the use of joint liability mechanisms, and flexible policies, such as loan rescheduling and moratoriums, which are underexplored in prior studies. The findings contribute to the literature on sustainable microfinance and provide practical insights for policymakers and microfinance managers to optimize group loan programs for women's empowerment.

Abstract

The enormous number of micro enterprises contributes relatively low to the aggregate economy. This is due to the fact that many small businesses do not grow although it has been run for years. Reluctance to grow may be due to, for instance, the desire to retain ownership or avoidance of loss of satisfaction. This study aims to examine the influence of several individual factors that may affect growth intention. Those factors are the start-up motivation, self-efficacy and risk taking propensity of the business owners. The sample of this study were 50 pedagang kreatif lapangan in Salatiga who are the founder of his/her business. Multiple-regression analyses reveal that start-up motivation and self-efficacy significantly affect growth intention. This means that entrepreneurs who start their business because of some positive reasons and faith have greater intention to grow. The result also indicates that although a micro-entrepreneur has a high degree of risk taking propensity, his/her intention to grow may be low when he/she lacks of neither positive start-up motivation nor a high degree of self-efficacy.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of compensation, career development, and job satisfaction on turnover intention, with job satisfaction acting as a mediating variable. In addition, employment engagement is analyzed as a moderating variable to strengthen the effect of compensation and career development on turnover intention. The research was conducted using a quantitative approach with Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) to test the hypotheses. The sample consists of employees from various companies. The results indicate that compensation positively and significantly influences job satisfaction. Similarly, career development has a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction, supporting the hypotheses. However, compensation's influence on turnover intention was found to be insignificant, leading to the rejection of this hypothesis. In contrast, career development positively and significantly influences turnover intention. Job satisfaction was also found to mediate the effects of both compensation and career development on turnover intention. Additionally, employment engagement significantly moderates the relationship between career development and turnover intention, but its moderating effect on compensation was not significant. The findings of this study highlight the importance of fair compensation and career development programs in enhancing employee satisfaction and reducing turnover intention. Companies should prioritize these factors in their human resource strategies to foster higher employee retention rates.
