Abstract

Snakehead fish has high content of zinc and albumin, it can be given to people with immune disorder. Snakehead fish can be made into various kind of food product that are high in nutrients, have aestetic value, and taste like nugget. The effectiveness of zinc and albumin function can work optimally when the consumption is combined with food ingredient that are high in bioactive substances such as lycopene, anthocyanin, flavonoid, karetonoid, bromelain, papain and quercetin. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effectof snakehead nugget administration and colored fruit juices simultaneously on clinical manifestation, BMI, TLC, albumin and CD4 value in PLHIV at HIV/AIDS Rehabilitation Center in Medan.  The design of research was quasy experimental with pre and post test design. The subjects was 40 people who lived at HIV/AIDS Rehabilitation Center in Medan and given snackhead fish nugget and colored fruit juice for 24 days. The data analysis used dependent T-test, after data normality test had previously been carried out. There was effect before and after administration of snakehead fish nuggets and colored fruit juice on clinical manifestation, BMI, TLC and CD4 levels with p value <0.05. It is necessary to provide treatment in  longer term as preventive measure for the emergence of various clinical manifestations as well as to increase BMI, TLC, albumin and CD4 in PLHIV at HIV/AIDS Rehabilitation Center in Medan.

Abstract

Masuknya budaya asing yang cenderung bebas yang dapat diakses dengan mudah melalui social media secara tidak langsung mengubah pola pikir remaja tentang seks pranikah. Kehamilan tidak diinginkan (KTD) pada remaja merupakan salah satu dampak dari perilaku seks bebas. Tujuan dari pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah melakukan penyuluhan tentang kesehatan reproduksi remaja dalam mencegah KTD menggunakan media interaktif sehingga dapat menambah wawasan remaja tentang pentingnya menjaga kesehatan reproduksi. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah model pembelajaran penyuluhan dan pelatihan untuk menambah pengetahuan tentang kesehatan reproduksi remaja dan pencegahan KTD menggunakan media interaktif pada remaja putri di Sekolah Talitakum Medan. Hasil dari pelaksanaan pengabdian masyarakat ini menunjukkan bahwa sebelum diberikan penyuluhan dan pelatihan terlihat tingkat pengetahuan remaja sebagian besar berpengetahuan kurang yaitu 23 orang (76,66%), dan setelah diberikan intervensi penyuluhan dan pelatihan tentang pengetahuan remaja tentang kesehatan reproduksi dan pencegahan KTD terlihat tingkat pengetahuan remaja seluruhnya baik yaitu 30 orang (100 %).

Abstract

Empowerment of fertile age women who are married and become members of Batak Karo Protestant Church or it’s called Moria, with a participatory approach as an effort to build, explore and develop existing potentials by motivating and raising awareness of their potential so that a process of independence in cervical cancer prevention occurs. This study aims to empower Moria in the prevention of cervical cancer. The mixed research method. The qualitative was for empowerment efforts, while the quantitative method was for assessing the success of empowerment using a quasi-experimental design (pre-test-post-test group design without control). The qualitative analysis method uses interactive model analysis (data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing/verification). The quantitative data were processed using univariate, bivariate analysis. The research was conducted in the working area of Padang Bulan Public health center in Medan Indonesia started from November 2016 to August 2017. The qualitative result was showed that there was still many Moria who did not know about cervical cancer prevention because they are ashamed, do not dare to come to health care, worried if the results are positive which can interfere with the next life process. Need the empowerment effort again to provide counseling on cervical cancer prevention. The quantitative result showed that there was an effect of Moria empowerment to knowledge (p-value=0.001) and attitude (p-value=0.001), and there was the effect of Moria empowerment on the action in cervical cancer prevention (p-value=0.001). The empowerment of Moria in cervical cancer prevention was very effective in increasing awareness, knowledge, attitudes, and actions of Moria in cervical cancer prevention.

Abstract

One of the cervical cancer screening can be done with visual inspection of acetic acid (IVA Test). InIndonesia, almost 70% of cervical cancers were found in advanced stages (> stage II B). This is due to thelow level of screening, which was <5% where ideally was 80%. This research is to find out the correlationbetween husband's knowledge and support to IVA test behavior in women of fertiled age couples. This typeof research was analytic descriptive with cross sectional design carried out in Namorambe Village,Namorambe sub district. The population used in the study were all women of fertiled age who live inNamorambe village. Samples were taken by simple random sampling of 58 respondents. Data collectionusing questionnaires and data analyzed univariate and bivariate using Fisher Exact statistical tests. Theresults of statistical analysis showed that knowledge’s level of the respondents was mostly in less category of24 people (41.4%), husband's support for IVA test behavior was at less category of 39 people (67.2%), themost respondents did not do IVA test of 45 people (77.6 %). In bivariate analysis, with p-value of 0.001<0.05, it was concluded that there was significant correlation between knowledge with IVA examinationbehavior, and with a p-value of 0.04 <0.05. It was concluded that there was correlation between husband'ssupport and IVA examination behavior. It was need to increase knowledge about cervical cancer and IVAtest through education by health workers through the promotion of reproductive health.

Abstract

Pada masa remaja usia 10-19 tahun terjadi perubahan fisik, alat reproduksi, kognitif dan psikososial. Anemia pada remaja putri berdampak pada pertumbuhan dan perkembangan, daya tahan terhadap penyakit infeksi, aktivitas, konsentrasi dan kecerdasan serta daya tangkap. Sebagai calon ibu, kebutuhan zat besi remaja putri lebih banyak agar tidak terjadi defisiensi sebelum hamil. Bila kebutuhan tersebut tidak terpenuhi, maka akan berdampak pada kelahiran bayi antara lain lahir prematur, abnormal, berat badan lahir rendah, bahkan kematian ibu dan beberapa lembaga survei independen dalam maupun luar negeri menyebutkan bahwa Indonesia memiliki 3% penduduk LGBT, yang berarti 7,5 juta dari 250 juta penduduk indonesia adalah LGBT Dengan menetapkan langkah kerja dalam pengabdian masyarakat sebagai berikut: Menetapkan jumlah peserta pelatihan yaitu remaja, setiap peserta dikumpulkan disuatu ruangan, dan memberi materi pelatihan tentang pendidikan seks dan pendidikan gizi melalui pelatihan dan konseling sebagai upaya preventif penyimpangan LGBT dan pencegahan Anemia di SMA Gajah Mada Medan. Berdasarkan pengabdian masyarakat yang telah dilaksanakan terlihat bahwa siswa yang ada di SMA Gajah Mada Medan dapat mengetahui tentang Pendidikan seks dan Pendidikan gizi dalam mencegah penyimpangan LGBT dan Anemia. Remaja dapat secara mandiri menjadi agent of change serta menjadi peer educator bagi teman sebayanya, mahasiswa dapat dibantu dengan dilakukannya penyuluhan pada peserta didiknya. Pemberdayaan remaja dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan remaja sehingga terjadi optimalisasi pencegahan LGBT dan Anemia pada remaja.
