Abstract

In the rapidly changing world of entrepreneurship, where innovation and adaptability are paramount, traditional paradigms of education increasingly fail to equip students with the necessary leadership skills to navigate and succeed in complex business environments. This paper examines the impact of gamification on enhancing leadership skills among entrepreneurship students by employing a systematic literature review to sift through 5612 articles, ultimately focusing on 78 that met stringent criteria for relevance and quality. The methodology highlighted an extensive analysis across various educational and professional settings, illustrating gamification's effectiveness in boosting engagement, motivation, learning outcomes, and the acquisition of leadership competencies. Studies within the scope from 2019 to 2024 demonstrated gamification’s role in transcending traditional educational methods, thereby enriching the learning experience and preparing students for practical leadership challenges in entrepreneurship. The findings suggest that gamification not only enhances educational engagement and outcomes but also plays a crucial role in skill development, particularly those pertinent to leadership in an entrepreneurial context. Themes such as user experience, social and behavioral change, technology integration, and contextual adaptation have emerged as critical to the success of gamified learning approaches. By linking theoretical knowledge with practical application, gamification presents a promising avenue for developing the next generation of entrepreneurial leaders. This study significantly contributes to the theoretical framework on educational gamification by empirically demonstrating how ramified elements can effectively bridge the gap between theoretical leadership concepts and their practical application in real-world entrepreneurial scenarios, thereby providing a robust foundation for future research and practice in educational design and leadership development.

Abstract

This research investigates both the opportunities and limitations of online learning as a means to broaden access to business education in developing countries. Although online platforms are often viewed as scalable tools for expanding educational reach, numerous structural and pedagogical challenges continue to hinder their overall effectiveness. Using a systematic literature review, this study compiles insights from recent academic publications and organizes them within a conceptual framework based on input-process-impact logic. It draws upon the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT), various learning theories, and Bloom’s Taxonomy to assess how online learning is adopted, how learning unfolds, and what outcomes it produces. Major obstacles include inadequate digital infrastructure, lack of tailored teaching approaches, low student engagement, and concerns about long-term financial viability. Nevertheless, the study emphasizes the long-term promise of online learning in promoting educational and digital inclusion, especially when driven by thoughtful design, strong institutional support, and enabling policy. The research offers practical guidance for educators, policymakers, and academic institutions working to build more inclusive and impactful online learning environments within the business education landscape.

Abstract

This study critically evaluates the Catalyser Leadership Development Program implemented by PT.Pertamina (Persero), Indonesia's state-owned energy giant, against the backdrop of accelerating global energy transitions and organizational restructuring. Through in-depth interviews with 3 key stakeholders (program alumni, non alumni, and HR Designer), the research reveals a paradox: while the program successfully employs blended learning methodologies aligned with 70:20:10 principles (Lombardo & Eichinger, 1996), critical disconnects emerge in sustaining leadership capabilities post-program. The study makes a significant contribution by proposing an enhanced "Catalyser 2.0" framework, updated based on stakeholder feedback and grounded in adaptive leadership principles. The study also offers policy recommendations that emphasize urgency of formulating a comprehensive and sustainable talent management strategy.

Abstract

This study focuses on Widya Erti Indonesia (WEI), a non-profit organization working in the field of sustainable rural development. The research aims to analyze the internal and external factors influencing WEI’s ability to maintain program effectiveness, scale its operations, and respond to the evolving development landscape in Indonesia. The central issue addressed in this research is how WEI can strategically strengthen its position, given the limitations in internal resources and the complexity of external demands. These issues are particularly relevant as development funding structures shift, climate risks grow, and expectations for nonprofit accountability increase. The objectives of the study are threefold: (1) to identify WEI’s internal strengths and weaknesses, (2) to examine external opportunities and threats and (3) to formulate strategic planning to enhance to ensure its long-term sustainability and increase its impact on rural communities. This qualitative descriptive research employs SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) to assess internal and external organizational conditions. It is complemented by the STEEPLE framework (Social, Technological, Economic, Environmental, Political, Legal, and Ethical factors) to provide a broader analysis of the external macro-environment affecting WEI’s strategic positioning. Data were collected through focus group discussions (FGDs), key informant interviews, and literature review of donor trends, regulatory changes, and industry reports. To address these challenges, the study recommends three priorities: strengthening governance and systems, diversifying funding, and scaling up community-based approaches. Through partnerships and improved accountability, WEI can achieve greater sustainability and social impact in the next five years.

Abstract

This study examines the leadership styles, leadership adaptability, and leaders perspective of developmental needs of a leading state-owned bank in Indonesia, BNI. This is taking place approximately one year after the bank was though its latest mass corporate transformation. With growing complexity, evolving roles, and increasing pressures for continuous transformation, these leaders must adeptly manage uncertainty, unify teams across several silos, and maintain unit performance under pressure. The study uses a method called qualitative descriptive phenomenology (Moustakas, 1994), that collects data from in-depth interviews, field notes and other previous related studies that thoroughly build the framework of the research. The findings show that leadership within the bank now is a blend of transformational and transactional, as leaders highly indicating participative, assertive and engaged actions, unconsciously avoiding any of Laissez-faire attitudes. There is, however, a prominent matter of how there is no structured support to help leaders learn to adapt. That implies leaders have to work on their own and adapt all the time. The study suggests on arranging a program: Leadership Adaptive Lab, a program that offers the chance to learn through doing challenging things, collaborating on projects with other teams, and a series of experiences to share and learn from. These are designed to create flexibility and establish a collective leadership identity within the company, while its aligns with the hopes from the BNI current leaders.
