Abstract

Sengkuang (Dracontomelon dao) (Blanco) Merr & Rofle) merupakan salah satu jenis dari suku Anacardiaceae yang umumnya ditemukan di Kalimantan dapat dijumpai pada tanah podsolik merah-kuning. Beberapa pengujian biologi mengenai Dracontomelon dao menunjukkan bahwa tumbuhan ini sangat berpotensi sebagai antijamur khususnya di kulit kayu. Namun, masih sedikit kajian fitokimia mengenai daun dari Dracontomelon dao yang dapat bermanfaat sebagai larvasida alami Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas ekstrak etanol sebagai larvasida alami pada konsentrasi 0.25%, 0.5%, 0.75%, 1% dan 1.25%. Desain penelitian yang penulis lakukan menggunakan quasi ekperimental design dengan analisis uji (One Way) ANOVA. Hasil pengujian fitokimia warna, pada ekstrak etanol daun Dracontomelon dao terkandung senyawa alkaloid, triterpenoid, flavonoid, karbohidrat dan tannin. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian kematian larva dengan menggunakan metode one way anova menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol daun sengkuang efektif membunuh larva pada konsentrasi 1.25% dibandingkan dengan temephos 0.012 mg/L.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPermasalahan utama yang dihadapi oleh pihak kelurahan Sungai Pinang Luar Samarinda adalah penggunaan minyak jelantah yang berulang kali oleh ibu rumah tangga untuk menggoreng makanan dan membuang minyak jelantah tersebut sembarangan. Pengabdiaan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pemahaman kepada ibu-ibu PKK kelurahan Sungai Pinang Luar Samarinda tentang bahayanya penggunaan minyak jelantah yang digunakan berulangkali bagi kesehatan dan pembuangan minyak jelantah ke lingkungan yang akan mengganggu stabilitas ekologi pada lingkungan tersebut, sehingga dibentuk sebuah upaya tindakan melalui pelatihan pengolahan minyak jelantah menjadi sesuatu yang bernilai ekologis dan ekonomis. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini adalah pelatihan langsung kepada ibu-ibu PKK di kelurahan Sungai Pinang Luar dalam pembuatan lilin aroma daun jeruk dari minyak jelantah. Hasil pengabdian ini terlihat antusiasme peserta untuk mencoba membuat sendiri lilin aroma daun jeruk dari minyak jelantah yang digunakan. Kata Kunci: pelatihan; minyak jelantah; lilin aroma daun jeruk. ABSTRACTThe main problem faced by the Sungai Pinang Luar village Samarinda is the repeated use of used cooking oil by housewives to fry food and throw the oil carelessly. This service aims to provide an understanding to PKK women in Sungai Pinang Village, Luar Samarinda about the dangers of using used cooking oil repeatedly for health and the disposal of used cooking oil into the environment which will disrupt the ecological stability of the environment, so that an action effort is formed through oil processing training, waste cooking becomes something of ecological and economic value. The method used in this service is direct training to PKK women in Sungai Pinang Luar village in making orange leaf scented candles from used cooking oil. The results of this service were seen by the enthusiasm of the participants to try to make their own orange leaf scented candles from the used cooking oil.Keywords: training; cooking oil; citrus leaf scented candle.

Abstract

The rehabilitation centers BNN Tanah Merah incerease in rehabilitated drug users since 2013 from 5 people to 68 people in 2016. This study is intend to research is to determine correlation between a family situation with drugs relapse behavior to resident in Rehabilitation centers BNN Tanah Merah Samarinda. This research using Cross Sectional research design and the sampling technique used probability sampling with simple random sampling type.This research using a Chi Square statistic test. Based on the result, a good family situation respondents but still experience the relapse are 18.9% and a bad family situation respondents and still experience the relapse are 19,0%. Statistically obtained p-value 1.00 (p<0.05). it can be concluded that there is no correlation between a Family Situation with drugs relapse behavior to resident at Rehabilitation centers BNN Tanah Merah Samarinda.Keywords : Family situation, Relapse, Drugs, Resident.

Abstract

Sonneratia alba is a mangrove species that is widely found in Indonesia. Phytochemicals studies on Sonneratia alba showed that this plant is very potential as an anti-fungal and larvacide, es-pecially found in the bark. However, there are only few studies on the utilization of the fruit of Sonneratia alba. Therefore, study of the phytochemicals of the fruit petals of Sonneratia alba that might be useful as a larvacide, is needed. Process of this research was an extraction of fruit pe-tals with using ethanol, and the result was then phytochemically tested in order to know the con-tained active compounds. Subsequently, the extract was tested for its effectiveness as larvicide by using instar III/IV of Aedes aegypti larvae as the tested insect, at five concentrations, i.e. 500 ppm, 1000 ppm, 2000 ppm, 3000 ppm, and 4000 ppm. Based on the phytochemical screening, it is known that the ethanol extract of Sonneratia alba fruit petals contain flavonoid and carbohy-drate. The larvacide test results show that the extract is effective for killing Aedes aegypti larvae at 3000 ppm and 4000 ppm concentrations, because both yields ? 50 % mortality.

Abstract

Sonneratia alba is a type of mangrove in Indonesia. Various studies of phytochemicals on Son-neratia alba suggests that this herb is very potential as anti-fungal and larvasida, especially in the skin of the stem. However, it is still a few study on the utilization of shell fruit Sonneratia alba. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct phytochemicals study on S. alba fruit petals that can be useful as a larvasida. The process of this research is in the form of extraction of Sonneratia alba fruit shell by using meceration ethanol method. The maceration results are then tested in order to know the content of phytochemical active compounds of S. Alba furit shell, and then were tested as larvacide to Aedes aegypti instar II/IV with concentration of 500, 1000, 2000, 3000, and 4000 ppm. Based on the results of the maceration, fruit petals extracts of S. alba on solvents of ethanol amounted to 7,74%. The results of the phytochemicals shos that the ethanol solvent contained flavonoid compounds and carbohydrates. The test results as larvacide show that the extract of ethanol petals fruit S. alba at concentrations of 500 ppm has average larva death as much as 23,3%, 1000 ppm concentration has 26,7%, 2000 ppm concentration has 37,7%, 3000 ppm concentration has 50% and 4000 ppm concentration has 63,3%. Thus, ethanol extract fruit shell of Sonneratia alba are effective in killing Aedes aegypti larvae in the concentration of 3000 and 4000 ppm.

Abstract

Borax detection can be done using the flame test method, volumetric titration, spectrophotometric analysis, and qualitatively using natural materials such as curcumin and anthocyanins. The high content of anthocyanins in grapes has the potential to be utilized in acid-base titrations as an indicator of natural acid-base. The research objective was to determine the potential of anthocyanins in the flesh and skin of grapes in detecting natural borax which is absorbed on filter paper, Whatmann paper no. 41 and Whatmann paper no. 42. Then it was tested on samples of meatballs from 5 sellers in Samarinda Seberang to Mangkupalas village. The research method used is a quantitative analysis of the color changes that occur. Based on the research results, filter paper can have a better absorption that is shown with a dark color on Whatmann No. 41 and Whatmann No.42. Grape skin extract can detect borax more clearly than flesh by forming a dark purple ring when reacting with borax. In testing using meatball samples, the overall results showed that the samples contained borax. It was concluded that the filter paper from the absorption of grape skin anthocyanins could be used as an alternative in quantitatively testing the borax content in food.

Abstract

Natrium siklamat (C6H12NNaO3S) merupakan salah satu jenis pemanis buatan yang memiliki tingkat kemanisannya kurang lebih 30 kali dari pada sukrosa dengan jumlah kemanisan yaitu 3,94 kkal/g. Anak-anak paling rentan terhadap dampak negatif pemanis buatan, untuk anak-anak berpotensi merangsang keterbelakangan mental karena otak masih dalam tahap perkembangan dan terakumulasi pada jaringan syaraf. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kandungan siklamat pada minuman es teh yang dijual oleh pedagang keliling di empat Sekolah Dasar Kelurahan Melayu, Kecamatan Tenggarong. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian deskriptif dengan pemeriksaan laboratorium menggunakan uji kualitatif dengan metode pengendapan padalima penjual minuman es teh keliling di Sekolah Dasar Kelurahan Melayu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari total lima sampel uji terdapat 2 sampel es teh positif mengandung siklamat. Berdasarkan data dapat disimpulkan bahwa kedua sampel es teh yang positif mengandung siklamat diketahui karena penggunaan serbuk minuman instan yang mengandung Natrium Siklamat pada saat observasi dilakukan.---Sodium cyclamate (C6H12NNaO3S) is one type of artificial sweetener which has a sweetness level of approximately 30 times that of sucrose with a total sweetness of 3.94 kcal/g. Children are most vulnerable to the negative effects of artificial sweeteners, for children it has the potential to stimulate mental retardation because the brain is still in a developmental stage and accumulates in neural networks. This study aims to determine the content of cyclamate in iced tea drinks sold by traveling vendors in four elementary schools in the Melayu Village, Tenggarong District. This research is a descriptive type of research with laboratory examination using a qualitative test with precipitation method on five mobile iced tea drink sellers in the Elementary School of Melayu Village. The results showed that from a total of five test samples, there were 2 samples of iced tea that were positive for cyclamate. Based on the data, it can be concluded that the two samples of iced tea that were positive for containing cyclamate were known to be due to the use of instant drink powder containing sodium cyclamate at the time of observation.

Abstract

Infeksi Virus Covid-19 sangat cepat penyebarannya di masyarakat. Media penyebarannya melalui droplet penderita yang terinfeksi Virus Covid-19. Tempat-tempat yang berpotensi menjadi tempat penyebaran Virus Covid-19 dilakukan sterilisasi dengan disinfektan. Pemerintah menghimbau masyarakat selalu menggunakan masker saat beraktivitas di luar rumah, sehingga permintaan masker meningkat dan menyebabkan harga masker sangat mahal. Terminal Samarinda-Balikpapan merupakan terminal besar di Samarinda dan banyak masyarakat yang beraktifitas disana, baik pedagang maupun para calon penumpang. Maka dari itu pengabdian masyarakat dengan melakukan penyemprotan disinfektan di terminal dan pembagian masker kain ini dilakukan. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah memutus mata rantai penularan covid-19. Kegiatan ini secara tidak langsung memberikan edukasi ke masyarakat di terminal untuk berperilaku hidup bersih dan sehat. Berdasar beberapa review artikel menunjukan penyemprotan disinfektan dan penggunaan masker dapat mencegah penularan Covid-19. Kegiatan ini mendapat respon positif dari petugas terminal, pedagang, sopir dan penumpang yang ada di sana.

Abstract

A food handler or food handler is a force that tends to make contact with food and also its equipment. Food handlers also participate in the expansion, cleaning, processing, transportation, and serving of food. The quality of hygiene can change depending on two factors, namely food handler factors and also the environment then from the two factors mentioned food handler factors are considered more influential. Food handlers are required to apply hygiene practices to the environment where they work and to themselves so that there is no bacterial contamination of food during the processing and serving of food so as to make the food a source of disease. Knowing whether there is a relationship between the level of knowledge and attitudes towards hygiene practices in food handlers at restaurants in the work area of the Wonorejo Health Center. In this study, it used a cross-sectional approach with purposive sampling techniques with a total sample of 61 food handlers. Data analysis used the chi square test technique which showed that there was a relationship between the level of knowledge and hygiene practices and the relationship between attitudes and hygiene with a p value = 0.000 < α 0.05. That the level of knowledge and attitude can be related to the hygiene practices of food handlers in processing and serving food. Keywords : Knowledge, Attitude, Hygiene Practices, and Food Handler
