Abstract

Public understanding of insurance ownership is proven to be shallow, which can be seen from the low insurance literacy index in Indonesia. The same thing is also shown by the small number of people who already have insurance at a young age. Insurance ownership is also influenced by people's attitudes toward reducing and managing risk. This study aims to examine the effect of financial literacy and risk attitude on life insurance ownership. This study is an associative research by taking 124 respondents who own life insurance. Data was collected through a google form questionnaire and processed using a Likert scale. The data were then analyzed by logistic regression IBM SPSS Statistics 18. The results showed that financial literacy had a significant effect on life insurance ownership, while risk attitude had no significant effect on life insurance ownership. Risk Attitude has no effect on insurance ownership because people prefer low premium values. On the other hand, insurance ownership can still be increased by increasing public awareness of the uses and benefits of insurance, especially for planning and managing personal finances.

Abstract

This study aims to measure the maturity level of Enterprise Risk Management in medium-sized priority sector companies in East Java. Studies on the application of ERM were previously focused more on big companies and tended to be carried out abroad and still gave inconsistent results. In addition, the number of studies on previous ERM that addressed the practice of its application on companies has not been that many. There are several studies on ERM conducted in Indonesia, however, the research objective focuses on the financial services industry referring to large companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. Although several studies have yielded significant results for application in medium-sized companies, they are only centered on construction services companies. There are 16 indicators used to measure the maturity level of ERM implementation in this study that have been adjusted to the characteristics of medium-sized industrial companies in Indonesia. The results of this study indicate that all medium-sized industrial companies in East Java have implemented integrated risk management (ERM) and have reached the optimal maturity level in implementing ERM. The results of the study also found that the automotive and electronics industry sectors are 2 industrial sectors that have the highest level of maturity in implementing ERM. Meanwhile, the lowest maturity level occurred in the food and beverage industry sector.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of retirement planning, insurance ownership, and emergency funds on the financial well-being of millennials in Indonesia. Using a quantitative associative approach, data were collected via an online questionnaire from 159 Indonesian millennials aged 29–44. Emergency funds and insurance ownership significantly influenced financial well-being, while retirement planning showed no significant impact. The results show the importance of adopting comprehensive financial planning approaches to strengthen millennials’ financial resilience and confidence. The study contributes empirically by combining the three variables into a single contextual framework within a developing country. Practical implications include the need to improve financial literacy, promote insurance awareness, and foster emergency saving behavior. Future studies are encouraged to investigate other potential determinants, such as social influences or the adoption of fintech services, and to consider employing qualitative or mixed-method approaches to obtain a more comprehensive understanding of millennial financial behavior.
