Abstract

Increasing consumer awareness to provide halal assurance in the supply chain process happens in Muslim countries and non-Muslim countries. Kosher products become a symbol for food safety, quality assurance, and lifestyle choice due to the strict requirements, thereby reducing the risk of contamination of the disease. This led to the increase of demands of halal logistics services to implement the halal concepts in logistics processes. One of the obstacles faced by the companies is a lack of understanding of how the halal concept is applied in accordance with the role of each company in the supply chain. This paper illustrates the value co-creation model using several supply chains for Fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), cosmetics, fashion, and pharmaceuticals to provide value for customers and all parties that guarantee halal concepts throughout the activities of the supply chains. Business model and the adaptation in operational planning for a transportation company as halal logistics services are also developed in this paper by including segregation process, packaging, cleaning process, halal labeling, and halal documentation to ensure standard halal assurance are distinguished from activities in the general logistics process.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to verify the readiness of Bandung people in accepting Light Rail Transit (LRT) as the new transport option. Through a survey questionnaire with various respondent backgrounds, the researchers applied statistical analysis using ANOVA to compare the acceptance between the group of gender, age, occupation, income, home location, mobility pattern, and current transport. As the extension, the research also explored the factor determining people’s priority in choosing transport and showing attributes (comfort, security and safety, exclusivity, time travel, cost, flexibility, facility, and accessibility). The result reveals that there are no differences between-group comparisons in accepting LRT as the new transport. In analyzing the determinant factors, the result shows that passengers tend to value security and comfort for their daily activities in choosing public transportation. Meanwhile, the exclusivity and facility are considered undesirable for passengers in deciding to take public transportation for travel. LRT is considered as a mode transport that provides sustainable transportation value. The readiness of passenger and market environment to the sustainable transportation option is important to maintain the successful implementation of the LRT project in Bandung.

Abstract

In recent years, horizontal collaboration in logistics is believed to positively impact business performance by reducing cost and increasing fulfillment rates. However, the implementation of horizontal collaborative logistics in MSME clusters in Indonesia still scarce. This research aims to determine the factors that affect the acceptance of industrial clusters to determine the possibility of implementing the concept of collaborative logistics. By combining equality of benefits, competences equity, leadership, trust, competition, cluster’s roles, perceived benefits, and COVID-19 pandemic, a conceptual framework for studying the influencing factors of cooperation intentions is proposed. Partial least squares path modeling (PLS-PM) was conducted on 102 respondents (31 pilots and 71 full research) from business owners or operation managers of six MSME clusters. The results show that the role of trust and clusters has significantly promoted MSME's intention to carry out horizontal logistics collaboration. In addition, the changing business conditions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic proved to be one of the influencing factors. Keywords : Horizontal Collaboration, Logistic, MSME Cluster, Covid-19

Abstract

The fashion industry is known for its volatility, characterized by rapid trend cycles and short product life spans, which pose operational challenges for businesses like La Crème, a B2B wholesaler in Indonesia. With over 300 SKUs and a production capacity of 6,000 pieces per week, La Crème serves a wide network across Southeast Asia and the Middle East. However, the company faces inefficiencies in supply-demand balance, leading to overstock and shortage issues that hurt profitability and customer satisfaction. In 2023, production volume dropped significantly, highlighting flaws in inventory planning. This research aims to develop a structured aggregate production planning model to mitigate these imbalances while enhancing service levels and cost efficiency. Using a mixed-method case study approach, quantitative data includes historical sales and production records, while qualitative insights are gathered from interviews and observations at La Crème's facilities. The study evaluates forecasting accuracy through methods like Linear Trend and Moving Average, revealing that effectiveness varies by SKU. The core analysis involves simulating four production planning models over three months: chase strategy, level strategy with stockouts, subcontracting, and overtime. Results indicate that the Level Strategy with Subcontracting is the most effective, achieving the lowest total cost while maintaining service levels. This study emphasizes the importance of data-driven planning to align forecasted demand with production capacity, ultimately promoting agility and improved financial outcomes for La Crème.

Abstract

This research examines the strategic, operational, and financial viability of CV Surya Abadi Putra Kembar's (SAPK) expansion into the beauty cotton business. Market analysis reveals significant growth potential driven by increasing hygiene awareness, home-based beauty practices, and e-commerce development in Indonesia. STP analysis identifies urban and suburban young women with high purchasing power as the primary target market, favoring locally manufactured, high-quality, and environmentally friendly products. Operational analysis evaluates three models: full in-house, hybrid (Partial Maklon), and full outsourcing, with the hybrid model offering the optimal balance of cost-effectiveness, scalability, and quality control. A 10-year financial forecast demonstrates positive NPV, IRR exceeding the company's benchmark, and short payback period across all scenarios. Monte Carlo simulation confirms high probability of sustained positive cash flow. The Partial Maklon model emerges as the most feasible strategy, combining SAPK's operational strengths with external partners' efficiency while minimizing capital investment and risk. This model projects an NPV of approximately IDR 180 billion, IRR above 12%, three-year payback period, and only 5% loss probability. The study confirms SAPK's operational capability to transform from raw material supplier to branded consumer goods producer, enhancing long-term competitiveness and supporting Indonesia's industrial value chain development.
