Abstract

The aim of this study is to use Radio Frequency technology to facilitate human activities, especially used in Busway entrances. In this research methodologies used include field survey to the BP Transjakarta; literature study by reading manuals, text books, journals, and articles on the Internet, and conduct laboratory experiments on the Bina Nusantara University Hardware Research Laboratory in designing and making the minimum system . Based on the results of an experiment and taking data on the minimum system, it can be concluded in general the performance of the system is running well, but the response time was not optimal. Some improvements to the system needed to improve system performance, such as raising response time, improved data security, and online systems.

Abstract

This study is intended as a source of learning and research will design and comfort safety System gymnasium-based microcontrollers. Existing gym until now still has a weakness for several factors such as weather changes rapidly, visitors are crowded, and the level of public awareness of the order is still lacking, so will implications for the safety and comfort for users of building itself. The method is a method of research literature and methods of laboratory studies. Literature study was done by studying and looking for articles on matters relating to the development of world sports stadiums that are considered to have the required criteria. For laboratory study done by making the design of hardware and software is also used in this study. This system used sensors to detect the rainy weather conditions, detect the light intensity to keep the lighting inside the building, limiting the number of visitors in accordance with the capacity building capacity, temperature rise resulting from a user density of buildings and also a fire hazard that could have been either intentional or unintentional. Entirety of the sensor arrangement is controlled by a microcontroller. It is expected that by using this system, users are building (football stadium) will feel more secure and convenient to activities inside the building.

Abstract

The research wanted to find the workflow and solution by developing m-learning object for Android and iOS-based smartphone and tablet that supported interactive multimedia. The research began with analysis, design, implementation, and evaluation. Currently, the learning objects were not compatible with mobile devices. To overcome this problem, the research focused on designing the instructional design for m-learning and the development of interactive multimedia. Instructional design was created by the collaboration of the subject matter expert and instructional designer. M-learning was designed using UML and developed using Adobe AIR technology. The implementation of this research was a prototype of m-learning for concept of cost in Faculty of Economics, Bina Nusantara University. Then, the evaluation was conducted by distributing m-learning object to 32 selected students by simple random sampling in their first week of lectures in February 2014. The observation was conducted during m-learning object installation and initial learning process. At the end of the second week of the experiment, summative assessment and questionnaire were given to students. The results show that m-learning object is compatible with mobile devices. The students also say that m-learning is easy to use and helpful for their learning.

Abstract

Information Technology (IT) is increasingly progressing. Nowadays, the success of a business of the organization/company is highly dependent on the IT infrastructure used. Therefore, organizations/companies have to manage their IT service to be optimal to their customers. Looking at this matter and the increasing dynamics of XYZ University, then Data and Information System Center (Pusdatin) - an IT provider of XYZ University began implementing IT Service Management (ITSM) from 2013 using the latest version of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), namely ITIL v3 as a framework for implementing ITSM in its business processes. However, along the way, there are still some problems happen in Pusdatin in order that ITSM can actually support and align with the objectives of XYZ University. Through this paper, the authors want to explain how the implementation of ITSM at Pusdatin, identify the problems related to the implementation of ITSM, and provide the solutions for each problem. The methods used are direct observation to Pusdatin, conductan interview with the Head of Pusdatin and Staff of Pusdatin, and also perform a literature review of books and papers that discuss about ITIL. The result of this research is that ITSM process of Pusdatin generally works quite well but there are still some shortcomings because ITSM is not 100% implemented in all areas.

Abstract

Information technology has played a crucial role in the development of modern business, including the banking sector. Bank Mega, one of Indonesia's largest banks with 380 branches across the country, faces challenges in connecting communication networks between branches and the head office. The use of Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) as a solution for the Traditional Wide Area Network (WAN) has its drawbacks, such as high costs and limited flexibility. To enhance network performance, cost-efficiency, and security, Bank Mega plans to adopt Software-Defined Wide Area Networking (SD-WAN) technology. This research aims to analyze the impact of implementing SD-WAN technology on the network performance, security, and cost-efficiency of communication links in all Bank Mega branches. The research analyzes the implementation of SD-WAN technology at Bank Mega. The research results show that implementing SD-WAN has a positive impact on network performance, with significant improvements in access speed, response time, and throughput. Network security is also strengthened through advanced security features, although ongoing evaluation is necessary. Additionally, the cost efficiency of communication links increases due to optimized utilization of available communication lines, resulting in up to a 30% annual reduction in operational costs. The recommendations provided include optimal monitoring and management of SD-WAN, integration with additional security systems, regular evaluation of performance and cost efficiency, as well as investment in skills development for Human Resources (HR). Thus, this research offers guidance for Bank Mega and similar companies to effectively leverage SD-WAN technology to enhance the performance, security, and cost efficiency of their communication networks.
