Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji durasi masa studi mahasiswa di Program Studii Pendidiikan Matematiika UIN Sultan Syarif Kasiim Riau dengan menggunakan distribusi Poisson.. Lama masa studi mahasiswa di program ini sangat bervariasi, dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor seperti pekerjaan sampingan, kurangnya motivasi belajar, dan keterlibatan dalam kegiatan kampus. Variasi latar belakang mahasiswa juga menjadi faktor yang berpengaruh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan distribusi Poisson dalam memodelkan durasi masa studi, serta mengidentifikasi jumlah mahasiiswa yang lulus tepat waktu maupun tiidak pada setiap angkatan. Diharapkan hasil penelitian ini dapat memberikan gambaran yang lebih komprehensif mengenai distribusi lama studi mahasiswa dan faktor-faktor yang memengaruhinya, serta implikasinya terhadap kualitas program studi. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data kelulusan tepat waktu mahasiswa Program Studii Pendidiikan Matematiika UIN Suska Riiau dari angkatan 2017 hingga 2020, dapat disimpulkan bahwa distribusi lama masa studi mahasiswa tersebut tidak mengikuti distribusi Poisson. ABSTRACT This study aims to examine the duration of study period of students in the Mathematics Education Study Program at UIN Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau using the Poisson distribution. The duration of study period of students in this program varies greatly, influenced by various factors such as side jobs, lack of motivation to study, and involvement in campus activities. Variations in student backgrounds are also influential factors. Thiis study aims to analyze the appliication of the Poisson distribution in modeling the duration of study period, as well as to identify the number of students who graduate on time or not in each batch. It is hoped that the results of this study can provide a more comprehensive picture of the distribution of the length of study of students and the factors that influence it, as well as its implications for the quality of the study program. Based on the results of the analysis of on-time graduation data of students in the Mathematiics Educatiion Study Program at UIN Suska Riau from the 2017 to 2020 batches, it can be concluded that the distribution of the length of study period of these students does not follow the Poisson distribution.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between self-efficacy and high school students' errors in functional thinking using Newman Error Analysis (NEA). This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method to analyze the pattern of students' functional thinking errors in solving mathematical problems. The subjects of the study were selected by purposive sampling based on variations in students' self-efficacy levels (high, medium, and low) to obtain a more comprehensive representation in the analysis of functional thinking errors. Students' self-efficacy was measured using a Likert scale-based questionnaire, while essay-based tests were used to identify their mathematical functional thinking abilities. Additional data were obtained through interviews based on interview guidelines to understand students' functional thinking processes in solving problems. The validity of the research data was achieved using the triangulation method by comparing test result data, questionnaires and interview guidelines. The results showed that students with high and medium self-efficacy tended to make fewer functional thinking errors than students with low self-efficacy. Students with low self-efficacy made more errors in understanding problems (comprehension errors), transforming information (transformation errors), applying procedures (process skill errors), and writing final answers (encoding errors). These findings can be a basis for teachers in designing more effective learning strategies to improve understanding of the concept of function.

Abstract

Real analysis is one of the main branches of mathematics that serves as a fundamental foundation for the development of science and technology. This study emphasizes the understanding of basic concepts such as real numbers, limits, continuity, the principle of mathematical induction, as well as deductive and axiomatic approaches as a strong framework for mathematical proofs. This research employs the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method by examining articles and journals related to both the theoretical aspects and the implementation of real analysis in solving mathematical problems. The findings indicate that the application of Polya’s method, visualization through demonstration, and the use of modern technology such as augmented reality (AR) can enhance the effectiveness of real analysis learning. These approaches help students connect abstract concepts with real applications, thereby strengthening logical, systematic, critical, and rigorous thinking skills. However, several learning difficulties are also identified, including the complexity of the material, weak learning habits, social influences, and inappropriate teaching strategies. Therefore, more applicative, interactive, and contextual learning strategies are needed to support the achievement of learning objectives. The conclusion of this review highlights that the integration of theoretical understanding, problem-solving methods, and innovative technology is a strategic step to improve students’ thinking quality in real analysis courses. Thus, real analysis is not only positioned as a theoretical subject but also as a medium for developing problem-solving abilities and higher-order thinking skills that are relevant to both academic needs and real-world applications.

Abstract

Real Analysis is a fundamental course in mathematics education characterized by its deductive and axiomatic structure, which requires logical, systematic, and conceptual understanding. However, many studies have shown that students often face difficulties in grasping abstract concepts and constructing mathematical proofs deductively. Lestari (2015) found that most students were only able to conduct proofs inductively, while their deductive proof skills remained low due to weak prerequisite knowledge and lack of formal reasoning practice. Meanwhile, Darmadi, Sanusi, and Rifai (2024) explained that students’ difficulties in understanding formal definitions and the structure of real numbers indicate the need for a learning approach that emphasizes conceptual comprehension. This article employs a literature review approach to analyze the application of conceptual approaches in helping beginners understand Real Analysis. The results show that a conceptual approach enhances students’ understanding of the meaning behind mathematical symbols and procedures, helps them build connections among concepts such as limits, continuity, and the real number system, and gradually develops their deductive reasoning skills. Therefore, applying a conceptual approach in Real Analysis learning is an essential strategy to help students achieve deep, logical, and meaningful understanding.

Abstract

The research was conducted to determine students' mathematical communication skills and their influence on mathematics education, consisting of 3 questions about number patterns. The instrument has gone through question validation, then given to class VIII students at one of the Pekanbaru MTS with procedures including: 1). Planning, 2). Implement, and 3). Assessing Results. The subjects in this research were 14 eighth grade students from the MTS Pekanbaru school. The approach to this research is descriptive and quantitative, and uses data collection techniques such as observation, data collected from test instruments, and errors in completion. The student's communication skills are in the "medium" category as shown by the research results.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to discuss the analysis of high school students' self-efficacy in learning mathematics. This research is qualitative research that uses descriptive methods. The instrument used is a non-test instrument, namely a questionnaire. Through the use of a mathematical self-efficacy questionnaire with 30 statements consisting of 10 indicators. The descriptive qualitative research method involved 27 high school students in Kampar. Based on the questionnaire data, it can be concluded that accumulated self-efficacy in mathematics learning is 37.27% in the low category. In percentage terms, it can be described that the indicator of being able to overcome the problems faced is 38.5% in the low category, the indicator of being confident in one's success is 33.17% in the low category, the indicator of having a positive view of the task is 47.74% in the low category , the indicator of being brave enough to face challenges is 42.2% in the low category, the indicator of being brave enough to take risks is 38.55% in the low category, the indicator of being aware of one's strengths and weaknesses is 35.5% in the low category, the indicator of being able to interact with people is 36, 21% in the low category, the indicator of not giving up easily is 40% in the low category, the indicator of having commitment to the tasks given is 28.88% in the low category, the indicator of having great interest in lessons and assignments is 31.96% in the low category.

Abstract

Forecasting is an attempt to project future events using relevant information from the past. Using such data, forecasting serves as an effective means of planning activities and reducing the likelihood of errors in predicting the course of future events. One method of prediction is the Single Exponential Smoothing method. The research is aimed at predicting the amount of pineapple production in Riau Province by 2023. The study utilizes information on the number of pines production in the Riau province as many as 10 datasets covering the period from 2013 to 2022. This data is obtained from the official website of BPS Province Riau. In this study, the researchers used quantitative methods. Based on a solver analysis in Ms.Excel, the results showed that the forecast accuracy rate reached 71.64% with the smallest error presentation of about 28.36% which categorized these forecasts quite well. Using this method, the forecast quantity of pineapple production in Riau Province for 2023 is 262,637 tons.

Abstract

 Generasi Z merupakan kelompok demografis yang lahir dan tumbuh bersama perkembangan teknologi digital, sehingga memiliki preferensi unik dalam perilaku belanja, khususnya pada platform e-commerce. Preferensi ini menciptakan tantangan sekaligus peluang bagi para pelaku e-commerce untuk memenuhi kebutuhan mereka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat kepuasan Generasi Z terhadap layanan e-commerce. Metodologi penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, dengan data diperoleh melalui penelusuran literatur dari publikasi resmi dan basis data digital yang relevan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor-faktor utama yang memengaruhi kepuasan Generasi Z meliputi harga yang kompetitif, kualitas produk yang baik, kemudahan akses platform, keberadaan diskon, jaminan garansi, serta kecepatan pengiriman. Selain itu, Generasi Z menganggap belanja online sebagai aktivitas yang praktis dan efisien. Temuan ini memberikan wawasan penting bagi pelaku e-commerce untuk mengembangkan strategi yang lebih efektif dalam meningkatkan kepuasan konsumen dari kelompok Generasi Z.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperkirakan probabilitas keberhasilan uji coba kualitas layanan sistem informasi dengan menggunakan pendekatan distribusi binomial. Penilaian kualitas layanan dilakukan berdasarkan dimensi E-ServQual, yaitu tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, dan empathy. Distribusi binomial digunakan untuk memodelkan jumlah keberhasilan pada sampel berukuran ???? n dari populasi ???? N, dengan probabilitas keberhasilan sebesar ???? p dan probabilitas kegagalan sebesar 1 − ???? 1−p. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan kuesioner dengan skala Likert. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa probabilitas masing-masing tingkat kepuasan adalah: ???? ( sangat puas ) = 0 , 207 p(sangat puas)=0,207, ???? ( puas ) = 0 , 518 p(puas)=0,518, ???? ( cukup puas ) = 0 , 228 p(cukup puas)=0,228, ???? ( tidak puas ) = 0 , 047 p(tidak puas)=0,047, dan ???? ( sangat tidak puas ) = 0 , 002 p(sangat tidak puas)=0,002. Simulasi variasi nilai ???? n dan ???? x menunjukkan bahwa probabilitas keberhasilan meningkat pada ukuran sampel yang lebih kecil dengan nilai probabilitas keberhasilan yang lebih besar. Temuan ini memberikan wawasan penting dalam pengukuran kualitas layanan sistem informasi dan potensi peningkatan keberhasilannya melalui optimalisasi parameter distribusi binomial.

Abstract

Pada zaman sekarang ini, sangat mudah mengakses berbagai informasi melalui internet yang menyebabkan rendahnya minat baca. Padahal melalui membaca akan menghasilkan ide kreatif, wawasan dan pengetahuan. Kebiasaan dan minat baca masih rendah dan jauh dari harapan terutama di Indonesia, khususnya di Desa Tarai Bangun. Anak-anak lebih tertarik menghabiskan waktu dengan bermain gadget atau melakukan aktifitas yang kurang bermanfaat. Untuk mengurangi dampak tersebut tim pengabdi mendirikan taman baca dengan tujuan untuk menumbuhkan minat membaca anak-anak. Adapun metode yang digunakan adalah metode persuasif yang terdiri dari tiga tahapan yaitu persiapan, pendirian taman baca dan pelaksanaan kegiatan. Pelaksanaan dari setiap tahapan ini dijelaskan dengan metode deskripsi. Hasil dari kegiatan ini yaitu taman bacaan anak yang dapat dimanfaatkan untuk meningkatkan minat baca dan memberikan kemudahan dalam mendapatkan buku serta anak-anak dapat belajar sambil bermain melalui berbagai kegiatan yang ada di taman baca.
