Abstract

This study aims to determine the characteristics of soil pores and therelationship of pore characteristics with soil permeability. Soil samples were collected from Punagaya Village, Bangkala District, Jeneponto Regency, South Sulawesi. Soil samples were taken from 20 observation points representing two types of land use ie cultivated land and fallow field at a depth of 0-60 cm. Soil analysis (pH, organic material, C-organic, cation exchange capacity, bulk density and soil texture), Pore characteristics(porosity, pore distribution and pore stability), and permeability. Analysis of soil properties and pore characteristics was descriptive, while the relationship between pore characteristics and permeability was analyzed by single or multiple regression and correlation analysis. The results showed that the permeability of soil vertisol 0.29 cm/h (slow) and the average value of soil pore characteristics of vertisol as follows: porosity ranged 56.49%, fast drainage pore 4.35%, water pore available 17.8% And 32.5% micro pores, and 36.46% pore stability. Based on the regression and correlation test, it is known that Porosity and porosity and pore stability index have the greatest influence on permeability.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of the growth of green bean local varieties of Sabu at different spacing and liquid fertilizer and to determine the relationship between sunlight interception and plant growth.The experimental design used was a factorial randomized block design with two factors, namely spacing is Plant spacing 40 cm x 20 cm , 40 cm x 25 cm , 40 cm x 30 cm and Type of Liquid Organic Fertilizer namely: NPK plus fertilizer, Nasa POC,Green Tonic Liquid Fertilizer, and POC ABG. The results showed that the difference in spacing and the type of liquid fertilizer affected the number of productive branches and the percentage of sunlight interception at the age of 5 week after planting (WAP) but did not influence other growth components. Spacing affects plant height at the age of 3 and 4 WAP and the percentage of light interception.  Key Words: interception, plant growth, spacing, and liquid fertilizer

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to obtain the best concentration and interval of application of POC ABG to increase the yield of local varieties of mung bean Sabu.RBD with two factors was used in this study namely, factor 1(concentration): 2, 4, 6, and 8 ml LOF/liter of water; factor 2 (interval): 7 and 14 days once. Data were analyzed using ANOVA and further test using DMRT 5%.The results showed that there was no effect of POC ABG treatment on the number of seeds/pods and the weight of 100 seeds. POC ABG concentrations of 2 and 4 ml/liter of water and application intervals of 7 days gave the highest seed yields per plot (240.73 grams and 238.84 grams) and 240.66 grams. The interaction of treatment 4 ml/liter of water and application interval of 7 days gave the number of pods planted (15.22) and the highest seed yield (9.63 grams). Key Words:  Concentration, interval, ABG, mung beans local var Sabu

Abstract

This study aims to study the types of minerals and chemical properties of Vertisol soil that develop from limestone rocks in Jeneponto Regency, South Sulawesi. Taking soil samples is carried out at four different depths, namely: 0-15 cm, 15-30 cm, 30-45 cm,  and 45-60 cm. Observation parameters for soil mineral types are primary minerals and secondary minerals, while soil chemical properties observed are pH, C-organic, cation exchange capacity (CEC). The results showed that the dominant primary mineral species were calcite and quartz, the dominant secondary mineral species was montmorillonite. Soil chemistry for soil pH ranges from 6.58-6.85, C-organic ranges from 2.23-2.81% or moderate status, and CEC ranges from 19.98 to 22.76 cmol (+) / kg or moderate status.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effect of different water levels on the growth and nutritional value of maize (Zea mays L.) forage grown on Vertisol soil amended with corncob biochar. The research was conducted in Oesao Village, Kupang Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. Biochar was produced by pyrolyzing corncobs at 300–600 °C and applied in the soil at 6% by weight. The experiment used a Completely Randomized Design with four water levels (K1 = 100%, K2 = 90%, K3 = 80%, K4 = 70% of field capacity) and six replications for measuring plant growth. Soil property and proximate analyses were conducted using composite samples with three replications. Chemical properties of biochar, initial and post-treatment soil properties, plant growth (height, number, and leaf area), and forage nutritional quality were analyzed. The results showed that treatment K4 improved soil chemical properties including organic carbon, P₂O₅, cation exchange capacity (CEC), and exchangeable cations. Treatment K1 produced the best vegetative growth with the most leaves, leaf area, and plant height. Meanwhile, treatment K3 resulted in the best forage nutritional quality, with the highest nitrogen, crude protein, and crude fat content and the lowest crude fiber content. Overall, treatment K3 was considered the most optimal because it balanced plant productivity and forage quality.

Abstract

The productivity of mung beans in East Nusa Tenggara for the last five years has been recorded at around 0.89 tons/ha, which is lower than the potential yield of superior varieties. This research focuses on increasing the productivity of mung beans through fertilization and the use of renewable technologies, especially bodacious elicitors, and NPK fertilizers. The study aimed to examine the effect of bodacious elicitation and NPK fertilizers on yield components and nutrient uptake from local varieties of mung bean. Using a Random Design of a group of factorial patterns, the first factor has two levels: without biosaka (B0) and with biosaka (B1).The second factor is the dose of NPK Phonska Plus fertilizer, consisting of 4 levels, namely 100% NPK (P1 = 250 kg/ha), 80% NPK (P2 = 200 kg/ha), 60% NPK (P3 = 150 kg/ha) and 40% NPK Plus (100 kg/ha).  The data was analyzed using variance analysis and continued with Duncan's Multiple Range Test. The results showed that the treatment could increase the nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), potassium (K), and cation exchange capacity (KTK) of soil, as well as nutrient uptake at lower NPK doses. In addition, it positively affected the number of pods, pod weight, 100 seeds, and mung bean seed yield. The combination of biosaka with a dose of 40% NPK resulted in higher mung bean seeds.. This study recommends using biosaka as one of the strategies to increase mung bean productivity with more efficient NPK fertilization to support agricultural sustainability in East Nusa Tenggara.

Abstract

Mung bean is a legume high in plant protein. Malaka mung beans have about 15% protein and up to 60% antioxidants. However, their productivity is lower than that of superior varieties. This study analyzed how different NPK doses and biofertilizer types affect the growth and yield of local Malaka mung beans, and identified the best combination. This experiment used a factorial Randomized Block Design with two factors: NPK dose (100 kg ha⁻¹ (N1) and 50 kg ha⁻¹ (N2) and biofertilizer type (no biofertilizer (P0) Bioboost (P1) Bion Up (P2), and Extragen (P3). Data were analyzed by ANOVA and Duncan’s Multiple Range Test. Soil samples were compositely analyzed to assess changes in pH, organic carbon, cation exchange capacity (CEC), and base saturation before and after the study. The results showed an interaction between treatments on stem diameter and seed yield per plot. The largest stem diameter and seed yield were obtained with 50 kg ha⁻¹ NPK + Extragen biofertilizer. The highest seed yield per plot was 153.78 g, equivalent to 1.28 t ha⁻¹. This yield was 40% higher than farmers’ yields, but reached only 64% of the yield of nationally superior mung bean varieties. These findings provide a vital foundation for developing a cultivation technology package for local mung beans in the drylands of East Nusa Tenggara. By advancing environmentally friendly agricultural inputs and strengthening food security rooted in local commodities, this work will make a significant contribution to sustainable development in the region.
