Abstract

Academic library contributes much to the realization of the three pillars of higher education, which are education, research, and social services. During pandemic, university library has to keep contributing to the development of education even when learning-teaching activities are virtually conducted. This research is aimed at identifying sorts of service developed by UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta library during the pandemic and at exploring the users’ responses to them by using ServQual approach to evaluate three aspects of innovative services, namely the services being developed, the service supporting facility, and the human resources. This research uses a qualitative method. The data were collected through interviews with 17 qualified informants and documentation. The study showed that the library has made some innovative services to satisfy the users’ needs, particularly the students who were doing their last assignments. The users have benefited much from the innovative services and declared their satisfaction. In term of facility, the library is completed with facilities and infrastructure that are in line with the health protocols. The library also used social media, like WhatsApp and Instagram, to support its services. In addition, the librarians have significantly helped the users access the services.

Abstract

Efforts to improve the quality of university libraries should be conducted continuously with reference to library standards published by the National Library. Assessment of the quality of university libraries can be done through accreditation library. Accredited certificate can obtain a university library based on the amount of the weighted value of nine components. These components are the components of the service, collaboration, collection, organizing library materials, human resources, building or space and infrastructure, budget, library management and maintenance of the library collection. To be accredited university library to get the most, librarians should play an active role. Some examples of the role of librarians in the accreditation activities of the university library are studying the accreditation guidelines, prepare the physical evidence, conduct self-evaluation, and perform simulations accreditation.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peran strategis kurikulum tersembunyi dalam proses penanaman nilai pendidikan karakter melalui kontribusi sekolah, keluarga dan masyarakat. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan penelitian deskriptif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan melakukan observasi, wawancara mendalam, dokumentasi, dan partisipasi. Subyek penelitian ini adalah pengurus asrama dan ustadz atau ustadzah, wali santri, pejabat di lingkungan pondok pesantren dan santri. Validitas data diperiksa dengan triangulasi menggunakan sumber dan metode yang berbeda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa; (1) Pelaksanaan pendidikan karakter religius melalui Hidden Curriculum di Pondok Pesantren Al-Azhar Yogyakarta dilakukan melalui; (a) Halaqoh: yaitu kegiatan berupa tadarus mandiri, kegiatan berbahasa, bimbingan, bimbingan dan pengawasan. (b) Di luar ajaran Halaqoh yaitu Infaq Jum'at, sholat dhuha, budaya hidup bersih, budaya disiplin dan budaya 5S (senyum, sapa, salam, sopan santun, dan sopan santun). (2) Melaksanakan program untuk mengoptimalkan peran ketiga pusat pendidikan dalam pembinaan karakter religius melalui; (a) mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter dalam kegiatan pesantren. (b) pembiasaan sehari-hari. (3) Kontribusi ketiga pusat pendidikan dalam membina religiusitas melalui; (a) metode pembentukan kebiasaan (habituation). (b) Pelatihan dengan menerapkan contoh. (c) Berlatihlah dengan Kebijaksanaan. (d) rapat komite. (e) kegiatan berbasis masjid (f) masyarakat sebagai pemangku kepentingan.

Abstract

Curriculum of 2013 demands that in the implementation of learning students are given the freedom of thinking to understand problems, develop problem solving strategies, propose ideas freely and openly. The teacher's activity in learning is to train and guide students to think critically and creatively in solving problems. The teacher must strive to organize cooperation in study groups, train students to communicate using graphs, diagrams, schemes, and variables. It is expected that the entire work is always presented in front of the class to find various concepts, results of problem solving, rules and principles found through the learning process. Learning is not only emphasized on one aspect, but the balance on the affective aspects, psychomotor aspects, and cognitive aspects.
