Abstract

This study was to synthesize the literature on employee performance measurement in the digital era using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach with the PRISMA 2020 protocol. The review covered publications from 2019–2026 that were collected from international databases (Scopus, Web of Science, Dimensions, Google Scholar) and national sources (SINTA). The findings showed that digital competence, reskilling programs, and adaptability were key determinants of employee performance. Furthermore, Digital HRM practices such as digital recruitment, technology-based training, and HRIS-supported performance management significantly explained variations in productivity. Psychosocial factors such as Work-Life Balance and hybrid work systems also played a major role in enhancing employee engagement and wellbeing. The review highlighted that performance measurement in the digital era went beyond traditional productivity, encompassing adaptive, contextual, and innovative dimensions. The main limitation of this study was the dominance of cross-sectional designs and local public sector contexts. Therefore, future research was recommended to focus on longitudinal and cross-sectoral studies to capture the long-term impact of digital technology adoption on employee performance
