Abstract

Magnetite particles were successfully generated by hydrothermal synthesis using water at subcritical conditions. By changing the temperature and pressure at subcritical water conditions, the thermodynamics and transport properties of the water can be controlled, thus enabling to manage the way of crystal formation, morphology, and particle size. In this work, the experiments were carried out at temperatures of 250 °C and 290 °C and a pressure of 10 MPa with a reactor made of SUS 316 in a batch system. The synthesized particles were dried in vacuum condition and characterized by SEM and XRD. The XRD patterns showed that magnetite particles were dominantly formed in the particle products with a black color. The results showed that the magnetite particles formed had diameters of around 60 nm in all experiments with irregular polyhedral shaped morphologies.

Abstract

Zinc Oxide is a semiconductor with relatively non-toxic, cheap and abundant properties which can be applied to LEDs. ZnO colloids are unstable due to further chemical reactions and coagulation so the addition of silica is needed to inhibit the growth of ZnO. ZnO was synthesized using sol-gel method by hydrolyze zinc acetate dihydrate in ethanol solution. Silica colloids was prepared by dissolving waterglass in distilled water at a temperature of 60 °C then passed into cation resin that has been activated using 2N HCl for ion exchange with Na+ to H+. In this study, the spray drying method was used to produce ZnO-silica nanocomposite. Morphological characterization of particles formed was analyzed using Scanning Electrostatic Microscope (SEM) (Zeiss Evo MA LS, Cambridge, England). X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) (Cu-Kα 1.54 A0, 40 kV, 30 mA, X’pert Pro, PAN alytical, Netherlands) and Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) (Therniscientific Nicolet iS10, US) were used to analyze the crystallinity and group functionalization, respectively. The results show that more particles are formed on 10% concentration volume of ZnO colloids rather than 5%.

Abstract

Low self-efficacy may affect students’ academic performance realized in the practice of procrastination. In the same way, low self-regulation can make students difficult in regulating emotion and behavior, which for sure will affect their performance in learning process. Here, the students of Public Islamic Junior High School or MTs Negeri 1 Kudus were found to have low self-efficacy and self-regulation. Thus, the present student strived for examining the effectiveness of group counseling with religiously integrated cognitive behavioral therapy which focuses on Islamic beliefs, namely using shirah nabawiyah technique to improve students’ self-efficacy and self-regulation. As many as 18 students involved as the subjects of this study were grouped into two and researched using randomized pretest posttest group design. The findings have proved that the group counseling with religiously integrated cognitive behavioral therapy approach is effective to improve students’ self-efficacy and self-regulation. Further discussion of the implication and limitations can be found in the discussion chapter.

Abstract

This study investigates the issues faced by students with Dispensation, Probation Semester Promotion, and Non-Promotion statuses based on evaluations from the 2021 Even Semester to the 2024 Odd Semester at Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember, Surabaya. Using a quantitative descriptive approach, the research examines problems in semester evaluations. The population consists of 422 active students, with a sample of 252 students selected through Proportioned Stratified Random Sampling. Data was collected via questionnaires and interviews. Analysis employed the Guidance and Counseling Problem Checklist (DCM) in Higher Education, covering 11 topics through 56 Likert-scale statements. Problems were ranked based on Respondent Achievement Level (TCR) percentages. Findings reveal that the most significant issue is in the "Very Problematic" category. The top problem topic is Campus Adjustment (69.78%), with the leading issue being motivation to study (88.73%). The second issue is Future and Ambition (55.94%), with a focus on identifying self-potential (79.60%). Social Life and Organizational Activity ranks third (52.56%), primarily due to lack of organizational participation (60.79%). Lastly, Recreation and Hobbies (51.40%) highlights insufficient time for hobbies to boost enthusiasm (65.56%). These findings underscore key areas for student support interventions.
