Abstract

Background: Preterm labor is still become a serious health problem in Obstetric and Perinatology with no sensitive biomarker currently approved. Several studies show that decrease antioxidant activity may play significant role in preterm labor. However, only few studies had been conducted to evaluate blood catalase level in preterm labor and assess its role in preterm labor. Objective: The aim this study was to identify the differences of maternal serum catalase level in preterm labor compared with preterm pregnancy. Methods: An observational analytic cross sectional study was conducted from February to December 2014 using pregnant women with 28-36 weeks’ gestational age. Blood catalase level was evaluated by colorimetric method and the data was analyzed by SPPS for Windows 17.0 program. Results: 12 subjects were enrolled and divided into preterm and control group. No significant differences between mean age, gestational age, and parity between preterm and control group. However, blood catalase level was significantly lower in preterm group compared with control group (81.82 ± 20.38 vs 159.38 ± 35.79; p=0.001). Conclusion: Serum maternal catalase level were significantly lower in preterm labor compared with preterm normal pregnancy.

Abstract

Abstract

Daily census reporting is something carried out by hospitals to describe the achievements of inpatient service quality indicators. Based on Minister of Health Regulation Number 1171 of 2011 concerning Hospital Information Systems, it is stated that the daily inpatient census is included in the Recapitulation Report 3 reporting regarding inpatient service activity data. Based on a preliminary study conducted at the Klungkung Regional General Hospital, it is known that the implementation of the daily census uses a manual system, causing several problems, namely late reporting of daily records, frequent recording errors, loss of daily census forms and lack of flexibility in filling them out. Therefore, a simple Spreadsheet-based information system innovation (Si-Sehari) is needed to overcome problems that arise during the implementation of the daily census. This research was carried out to determine the stages and process of implementing a simple Spreadsheet-based information system design (Si- Sehari) for the daily inpatient census at Klungkung Regency Regional Hospital. The method used is quasi-experimental with the development method being the waterfall method. With the development of Si-Sehari, there are good implications for the implementation of inpatient service reporting. All users stated that using this information system provides convenience in its implementation including easy access, flexible filling and changing of data, easy search for data, cost efficient and effective in use. Thus, the use of the Si-Sehari Spreadsheet system improves the quality of hospital services, especially reporting to hospital management in real time.

Abstract

Stroke is one of the leading causes of long-term disability and requires continuous management, including rehabilitation and routine follow-up, to prevent recurrence. Optimal recovery depends not only on medical interventions but also on the patient's ability to consistently engage in self-management. One of the psychological factors influencing self-management behavior is the health locus of control, which refers to an individual's belief in their ability to control their health status. This study aims to analyze the relationship between health locus of control and self-management among stroke patients. A descriptive correlational design with a cross-sectional approach was employed, involving 50 respondents selected through total sampling. Data were collected using a standardized questionnaire and analyzed using the Spearman Rank test. The results showed that the majority of respondents (48%) had a moderate level of self-management, and 44% had an internal health locus of control. A significant relationship was found between health locus of control and self-management among stroke patients (p = 0.000), with a correlation coefficient of 0.946 indicating a very strong positive relationship. These findings suggest that the higher an individual’s belief in their ability to control their health, the better their self-management. Therefore, nursing interventions that focus on enhancing health locus of control can serve as an important strategy in the rehabilitation of stroke patients. It is recommended that healthcare professionals, particularly nurses, develop educational programs and psychosocial interventions aimed at strengthening the health locus of control of stroke patients to support long-term success in self-management.
