Abstract

One approach to realizing a green campus is by providing a comfortable space for non-motorized transportation. Walking is the cheapest, low-emission non-motorized transportation, so accessibility to pedestrians should be prioritized. Providing more space for pedestrians which will change the orientation of road infrastructure that has been more pro-motorized. Diponegoro University, which is the green campus pilot project of the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education, has complete pedestrian paths. However, the current condition is still not appropriately utilised because the movement of academicians is still using motorized vehicles. To preserving the orientation of the existing green campus, it is necessary to evaluate the pedestrian path that is suitable by regulation physically. The results of research on pedestrian paths at the Undip Tembalang Campus indicate that it is required to repair and change the road design that is related to the comfort of people walking, and affects how pedestrian paths are used. Official regulations and policies from the campus will also have an impact on motorized vehicle use. Changes to empower those in the campus environment and energy-efficient actions are carried out by improving the accessibility of campus residents to use public transportation and non-motorized transportation to campus.

Abstract

The annually increasing number of urban populations will have impacts on waste generation. Tembalang Sub-district as a sub-district located on the outskirts of Semarang City has significant developments in the term of population growth in correlation with waste generation. Within four years, waste generation in the Tembalang Sub-district increased from the fifth rank to the third rank. It is possible that this sub-district will become the first rank in Semarang City in waste generation. To be able to identify influential factors and spatial distribution pattern of waste generation in Tembalang Sub-district, it is necessary to apply statistical and spatial approach. This study uses quantitative methods with a statistical spatial analysis approach by using GIS. In addition, this research also intends to model the relationships of Solid Waste Generation by applying socio-economic variables. Based on the results of Ordinary Least Square analysis, social economy variables that affect the amount of waste generation in Tembalang Sub-district are the number of population and trading activities. The model of formed socio-economic variables has the effect of 25% towards the amount of waste generation. Spatial patterns identified from waste generation shows that what needs to be considered is the waste management in TPS (Temporary Waste Disposal) in Tembalang and Sendangmulyo.

Abstract

Energy consumption is influenced by many factors. Sprawl development is often alleged as one of its driving factors. Other factors like the increase of community welfare and the improvement of regional infrastructures are often indicated to trigger energy consumption. This study is aimed at investigating the influence of sprawl development and other relevant factors on the energy consumption in Central Java Province, Indonesia. Other variables denoted to influence energy consumption used in this study are road density, people’s income represented by local Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita, and GDP growth rate. The observed energy is limited on vehicle fuels. After investigating the significance of correlations among variables, a multiple regression model is employed. By eliminating GDP per capita because of its multicollinearity with other dependent variables, the developed formula shows that fuel consumption is generated by 47.84 of sprawling index, added by 17.21 of road ratio and 17.5 of GDP growth rata, and reduced by a constant of 26.18. These measurements are expected to be useful for urban and regional managers in developing their region, especially in estimating the fuels’ consumption considering the determined regional policies.

Abstract

Penggunaan angkutan pribadi yang tinggi di Kawasan Pendidikan Tembalang menyebabkan angkutan umum (angkot) menjadi kurang dilirik oleh masyarakat. Hal ini semakin didukung oleh kondisi sistem transportasi berupa pelayanan angkutan umum (angkot) yang belum bisa memenuhi kebutuhan perjalanan masyarakat. Penggunaan angkutan umum yang sepi penumpang juga disebabkan oleh skala pelayanan angkutan umum (angkot) yang belum mampu melayani seluruh Kawasan Pendidikan Tembalang. Apabila kondisi ini terus berlanjut, dikhawatirkan jumlah angkutan pribadi terus meningkat dan tidak terkendali sehingga berakibat pada vakumnya angkutan umum (angkot) beroperasi serta kemacetanpun akan susah dihindari. Padahal penduduk di Kawasan Pendidikan Tembalang didominasi oleh penduduk usia produktif yaitu penduduk usia 15-64 tahun sekitar 26.153 jiwa atau sekitar 77% dari total penduduk. Penduduk pada usia ini merupakan penduduk yang aktif dalam melakukan perjalanan. Oleh karena itu dibutuhkan penelitian untuk menilai ketertarikan masyarakat terhadap angkutan umum (angkot) di Kawasan Pendidikan Tembalang sehingga dapat disimpulkan kondisi sebenarnya penyebab sedikitnya demand angkutan umum (angkot). Dalam mencapai tujuan ini, maka analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Analisis Structural Equation Modeling (SEM)  merupakan analisis yang berguna untuk mengkonfirmasi tentang sebuah teori. Analisis ini dilakukan menggunakan alat analisis berupa software LISREL 9.0 Versi Student. Data yang digunakan berupa data hasil kuesioner tentang variabel ketertarikan masyarakat terhadap angkutan umum yang diberikan kepada masyarakat usia produktif (umur 14-65 tahun). Berdasarkan hasil analisis, dapat disimpulkan penyebab rendahnya ketertarikan masyarakat terhadap angkutan umum (angkot) sebenarnya disebabkan oleh pelaku perjalanan atau pelaku masyarakat itu sendiri. Sedangkan faktor lain seperti kondisi sistem transportasi hanya berpengaruh sedikit pada ketertarikan masyarakat. Hasil analisis ini diharapkan dapat menjadi salah satu acuan untuk peningkatan ketertarikan masyarakat terhadap angkutan umum sehingga bisa menjadi salah satu solusi agar angkutan umum (angkot) semakin diminati dan penggunaan angkutan pribadi bisa diminimalisasi.

Abstract

Kawasan Universitas Diponegoro yang berada di Kecamatan Tembalang merupakan kawasan yang menjadi representatif dari kawasan perkotaan. Kawasan ini memiliki tingkat mobilitas tinggi, tingkat mobilitas yang tinggi di kawasan tersebut dikarenakan banyaknya pergerakan yang dilakukan menuju kawasan tersebut dan adanya  pusat-pusat  aktivitas  baru  yang  terletak  di  kawasan  tersebut.  Contoh tempat-tempat aktivitas yang ada antara lain perumahan, kos-kosan, pusat jajanan makanan (kuliner), pusat perbelanjaan, pendidikan dan lain-lain. Dalam  melakukan  mobilitas  tersebut,  sebagian  besar  masyarakat  di  kawasan Universitas Diponegoro menggunakan moda transportasi pribadi dibandingkan dengan moda transportasi umum. Hal itu dikarenakan beberapa faktor diantaranya adalah adanya selisih yang cukup besar antara biaya menggunakan moda transportasi  pribadi  dengan  moda  transportasi  umum,  yaitu  dengan  rata-rata sebesar Rp 10.648 dimana menggunakan moda transportasi umum jauh lebih mahal selain itu faktor kenyamanan dan kehandalan juga mempengaruhi pemilihan moda tersebut  (Nasruddin,  2014).  Namun,  penggunaan  moda  transportasi  pribadi  oleh m. asyarakat di kawasan tersebut akan berdampak terhadap aksesibilitas dan tingkat efisiensi jalan sehingga dapat menimbulkan kemacetan. Untuk mengantisipasi permasalahan tersebut semakin membesar, perlu dibuat suatu alat (infrastruktur) yang mendukung mobilitas masyarakat.Penelitian  ini  menggunakan  pendekatan  pemodelan  dan  kuantitatif.  Pendekatanpemodelan digunakan karena laporan berusaha memberikan alat bantu untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan yang ada dengan merepresentasikan kondisi sebenarnya. Sedangkan  pendekatan  kuantitatif  digunakan  karena  proses  analisis yang dilakukan menggunakan indikator atau variabel terukur. Pengumpulan data dilakukan untuk menguji aplikasi tersebut kepada masyarakat. Sehingga diharapkan aplikasi tersebut dapat membantu masyarakat dalam melakukan mobilitasnya dan dapat mengurangi volume pergerakan yang ada di kawasan Universitas Diponegoro.

Abstract

The city of Semarang is one of the big cities with the incidence of disasters especially dengue fever disease (DHF) is quite high. To reduce the incidence of DBD Semarang city government has done preventive action to improve clean and healthy life behavior, intensive socialization about mosquito nest eradication and home monitoring activities against the potential emergence of DBD through routine examination of potential water reservoir as a mosquito breeding. This effort is enough to show encouraging results with a decrease in the incidence of disease. But in 2017 there is an indication of the increase in the incidence of dengue disease when compared to the previous year. Based on this incident it is important to examine the level of adaptation capacity of the community against the occurrence of DHF. Based on the results of research, the adaptation capacity of Semarang City community has high adaptation capacity level with diffuse pattern. Low adaptation capacity has a pattern of gathering around North Semarang, Pedurungan and Gayamsari districts. This condition can not be separated from the domination of society with limited economic level and awareness of low clean and healthy life behaviour.

Abstract

Natural ecosystems have an important role in various aspects of human life, either directly or indirectly.However, natural ecosystems are often considered less valuable because the ecosystem services providedlargely public goods that do not have a clear market price. Currently, There are a serious threat to naturalecosystems, especially in urban areas caused by growth in both population size, consumption, and humanactivities. The assessment of environmental services is very important in the process of formulating publicpolicy in order to realize sustainable development because in previous studies it is known that theseenvironmental services contribute significantly to the welfare of the community. In this paper, several previousnational and international literature and research studies have been used to establish a theoretical frameworkfor the identification of ecosystem services in urban areas and their role in the process of urban dan publicpolicy planning. Identification of urban ecosystem services focuses on crops and trees on road corridors, urbanparks, urban forests, cultivated land or yard, water bodies (rivers and lakes), and wetlands.

Abstract

Curah hujan di wilayah Indonesia yang cukup tinggi, yaitu 2.000 - 4.000 mm/tahun berpotensi menjadi salah satu alternatif sumber air bersih. Belum adanya pengelolaan air hujan yang memadai di sebagian besar wilayah Indonesia, mengakibatkan peningkatan frekuensi banjir pada musim hujan dan ancaman kekurangan air atau kekeringan pada musim kemarau. Di sisi lain dengan pertumbuhan jumlah penduduk, kebutuhan air bersih terus meningkat. Diperkirakan pemanfaatan air tanah untuk memenuhi kebutuhan penduduk sebesar 100 liter/ orang/hari. Pemanfaatan air tanah yang berlebihan akan menimbulkan dampak negatif antara lain: intrusi air laut, penurunan muka air tanah, amblesan tanah (land subsidence) yang menyebabkan genangan banjir dimusim penghujan. Sementara itu alih fungsi lahan pada daerah resapan akan semakin mengancam ketersediaan air tanah akibat berkurangnya resapan air hujan. Pemanenan air hujan bukan merupakan sesuatu hal yang baru dalam peradaban manusia. Upaya pemanenan air hujan ini merupakan salah satu upaya konservasi untuk menjaga kecukupan suplai air di daerah perkotaan. Sekolah sebagai salah satu diantara infrastruktur yang besar dan tersebar di suatu wilayah memiliki potensi yang besar untuk dijadikan salah satu sarana pemanenan air hujan. Kegiatan pemanenan air hujan juga dapat dijadikan salah satu sarana edukasi dalam rangka konservasi sumber daya air di sekolah.

Abstract

Climate Change is one of the global issues of concern and included in the purpose of the SDGs (Action on climate change). This Research aims to know the potential achievement of the sustainability of Climate Village program in Surakarta. This Research is a literature study and observations in the field and questionnaire, interview. This research is taking location at Kampung Iklim Sekip Kadipiro, Sambirejo Kadipiro, Ngemplak Sutan Mojosongo. Kadipiro geographically, most of the region is a fairly large plateau. Kampung Iklim Sekip Kadipiro once received an award at the national level representing Surakarta municipal. Mojosongo Village is the widest urban village in Surakarta City with 5,329 Regional Areas 5,329 (Km2). Physical Condition of Topographic Village of Ngemplak Sutan Village in Mojosongo Sub-District, Jebres Sub-District is located north of Surakarta City, is a hilly area and is the highest plateau in the city of Surakarta. Based on the Geological Map of the Geohidrology Map of Surakarta, it can be seen that the northern rocks of the Mojosongo Village Office are up to Kali Kebo.Indonesia is one of the contributing countries in reducing GHG emissions by creating Program Kampung Iklim (PROKLIM) which is an environmental management activity based on community empowerment . Program Kampung Iklim is one of the efforts to adapt and mitigate climate change by citizens with friendly and environmentally sound activities. Climate Village activities provide additional income for citizens, where planting crops increases food security and reduces household spending. Waste management with 3R concept by Bank Sampah and innovative products produced by residents are able to increase additional income Kampung Iklim program has a local wisdom despite being in urban areas while maximizing the land of the House of page to plant, livestock and produce innovative local food and crafts products. The results of sustainability research are influenced by local figures, women and community roles.Implementation Kampung Iklim in Surakarta municipal has the potential for sustainability.

Abstract

Population increasing is one of the phenomena occurring in urban areas. It causes the increase in land use change from open space to be a built-up area. Limitations of open space due to development make agricultural activities rarely found in the urban area. Urban farming is one of the new cultivation methods in agricultural activities and suitable to developed on limited land. The aquaponic’s concept as one of the urban farming combines fish and vegetable cultivation. The development of aquaponic concepts can support sustainable development and address urban issues. Therefore, this study aims to identify the characteristics of urban agriculture and analyze the role of urban agriculture in supporting the sustainable urban development. This research case study located Semarang City and the research method used quantitative descriptive. The result of this research are: a) Characteristics of urban farmers in urban areas are between 30-50 years old, men, married, high school, and family members more than 4 peoples. b) Characteristics of urban agricultural activities in urban areas do not require extensive land, landowner status, vertical farming, and urban agriculture are used for personal use. Urban agricultural activities can support sustainable urban development during urban agriculture can provide economic benefits in additional income, social benefits in using of leisure time and mutual assistance among the community, environmental benefits in optimizing the use of open space, reducing air pollution, appending home aesthetics, and improve the environmental quality
