Abstract

This aim of this research was to determine the potential of giving micromineral solution (Cu, Fe, Zn, Co) and vitamins (A, B12, B1, C) as drinking water by somatometrik. The method used is a combination gift mikromineral (Cu, Fe, Zn, Co) and vitamins (A, B12, B1, C) with normal doses, twice the normal dose, four times the normal dose, and which is a combination mikromineral and vitamins. The parameters in this research were body weight and somatometrik. This research used Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The data were analyzed with Analysis of variants (ANOVA) with the help of the SAS program, the results of which showed significant, then proceed to further test, using Duncan test. The analysis showed significant difference in body weight gain, femur length, tibia length of tarsus and metatarsus Tarso length, and do not differ significantly in the length of the beak, wing length, feed consumption and water consumption. Giving combination mikromineral (Cu, Fe, Zn, Co) and vitamins (A, B12, B1, C) as a drinking water has the potential to be used as an alternative in the management of quail with respect to maintenance doses given.Key words : vitamins, microminerals, growth, quail (Coturnix coturnix japonica L.)

Abstract

Quail (Coturnix coturnix japonica) is a kind of fowl that produces eggs. The protein and fat in quail eggs that is higher than other eggs has become the reason why quail eggs has been chosen to fulfill the needs of nutrition. Quail breed and grow in 42 days. This study was intended to measure the lenght and weight of quail reproductive tract after given some amount of turmeric powder. The experiment was used 60 quail that was divided into three groups 4 different treatments in 5 repetition. The treatment was started when quail was 3 week-old during a month. The parameter in this research was the lenght and weight of reproductive tract using Complete Random Design. Data obtained was then analyzed using Analysis of Variant (ANOVA). The result shows was not differences in the lenght of reproductive tract, the weight of reproductive tract, food consumption and water consumption. The conclusion of the research is that turmeric powder (Curcuma longa L.) has not been proven to develop the cells in quail reproductive tract.    Keywords : Turmeric powder, quail (Coturnix coturnix japonica), lenght and weight of reproductive tract.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of white light treatment, red light, curcumin with white light and curcumin with red light on the parent to the eating and drinking behavior of magelang ducks (Anas plathyrhynchos). This study uses 16 magelang ducklings consisting of 4 treatments. The observations in this study were from 4 groups namely A.1B1 which is the duckling of the original treatment given white light, A1B2 which is the duck of the parent treatment given red light, A2B1 which is the duck of the parent treatment given curcumin dose 18 mg / kg and white light, and A2B1 which is a duck from the parent treatment given curcumin dose 18 mg / kg and white light. Parameters measured in this study were data of eating behavior and data of drinking behavior of magelang ducks (Anas plathyrhynchos). This research is analyzed by descriptive analysis. The conclusions of this study are eating and drinking behavior in post-hatch children duck treated from the parent who was given a white light that is decreased the frequency of eating and drinking in the afternoon in the second week, eating and drinking behavior in post-hatch ducks after treatment of the mother given red light that is decreased the frequency of eating and drinking in the morning in the second week, eating and drinking behavior in post-tetas duck treated from the parent who was given curcumin and white light that decreased the frequency of eating in the afternoon while the frequency of drinking tends to decline throughout the day in the second week as well as eating and drinking behavior in post-tetas ducklings treated from the parent who was given curcumin and red light that increased the frequency of eating throughout the day at week II and decreased the frequency of drinking during the day on week II.Key words: feeding behavior, drinking behavior, magelang duck, curcumin, red light and white light
