Abstract

This study aims to analyze simultaneously and partially the effect of family income, maternal double burden, age at first marriage, and maternal education level on the incidence of stunting in Petang District, Badung Regency. Also, it analyzes the role of maternal education level in moderating the influence of age at first marriage on the incidence of stunting in Petang District, Badung Regency. The sample for this research was determined using the Simple Random Sampling method with a total of 60 respondents. The data collection methods used were observation, structured interviews, and in-depth interviews. Data analysis was carried out using moderated regression analysis. The results of the analysis concluded that family income, maternal double burden, age at first marriage, and maternal education level simultaneously had a significant effect on the incidence of stunting in Petang District. Family income, Age at first marriage, and maternal double burden has a negative and significant effect on the incidence of stunting in Petang District. Maternal Double Burden has a positive and significant effect on the incidence of stunting in Petang District. Maternal education acts as a pseudo-moderating variable that strengthens the influence of age at first marriage on the incidence of stunting in Petang District.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis: (1) perbedaan hasil belajar IPA antara siswa yang mengikuti pendekatan pembelajaran saintifik berbantuan asesmen portofolio dengan siswa yang mengikuti pendekatan pembelajaran konvensional, (2) perbedaan hasil belajar IPA antara siswa yang mengikuti pendekatan pembelajaran saintifik berbantuan asesmen portofolio dengan siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional setelah dikontrol dengan kemampuan berpikir kreatif, (3) kontribusi kemampuan berpikir kreatif terhadap hasil belajar IPA. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen semu (quasi experiment) dengan rancangan postest only control group design. Pengambilan kelas penelitian berdasarkan teknik random sampling. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 62 siswa. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan anava, anacova dan analisis regresi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar IPA siswa yang mengikuti pendekatan pembelajaran saintifik berbantuan asesmen portofolio dengan siswa yang mengikuti pendekatan pembelajaran konvensional (2) Setelah kemampuan berpikir kreatif dikontrol, terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar IPA antara siswa mengikuti pendekatan pembelajaran saintifik berbantuan asesmen portofolio dengan siswa yang mengikuti pendekatan pembelajaran konvensional dan (3) terdapat kontribusi yang signifikan kemampuan berpikir kreatif terhadap hasil belajar IPA sebesar 51%. Kata kunci: asesmen portofolio, hasil belajar IPA, kemampuan berpikir kreatif, dan pendekatan saintifik.

Abstract

This study aimed at investigating 1) the contribution of the students’ vocabulary on the English speaking competency, 2) the contribution of the students’ grammar on the English speaking competency, 3) the contribution of the students’ practice on the English speaking competency, and 4) the contribution of the students’ vocabulary, grammar and practice on students’ speaking competency. The present research makes use of an ex post facto study with regression analysis. The research was done toward the second year or eleventh grade students of SMUN 1 Kuta in academic year 2013/2014. The population of the study covered 398 students; and the sample was 80, which was determined through cluster random sampling technique. This research used multiple regression analysis with two kinds of instruments, that is, tests and questionnaire. The results show that: 1) there is a significant contribution of vocabulary on the students’ speaking competency at 26.8%, 2) there is a significant contribution of grammar on the students’ speaking competency at 18.1%, 3) there is a significant contribution of practice on the students’ speaking competency 16.9%, 4) there is a significant contribution of vocabulary, grammar and  practice on the students’ speaking competency at 32.6%. Based on the results of this study, the teachers were suggested that they develop various ways to teach vocabulary, grammar and practice to improve the students’ speaking competency.

Abstract

This study aims to: 1) Analyze the influence of women’s employment status, sex preference, the Governor’s instruction on Bali’s Krama Bali family planning (KB) program, and women’s education on the KB duration of women of reproductive age; Analyze the influence of women’s employment status, sex preference, the Gover- nor’s instruction on Bali’s Krama Bali family planning program, women’s education, and KB duration on the desired number of children among women of reproductive age; 3) Analyze the indirect influence of women’s employment status, sex preference, the Governor’s instruction on the Krama Bali family planning program, and women’s education on the desired number of children through KB duration among women of reproductive age. This research utilizes a quantitative method with an associative approach. The sample size is 99 respondents, consisting of women of reproductive age, selected using Snowball Sampling and Accidental Sampling techniques. Data collection was carried out through observation, structured interviews, and in-depth interviews. Path analysis was employed for data analysis. The results of the study indicate: 1) Women of reproductive age who are employed have longer contraceptive use compared to those who are unemployed in Banjarangkan District, Klungkung Regency; 2) Women’s education has a significantly positive impact on KB duration among women of reproductive age in Banjarangkan District, Klungkung Regency; Sex preference and the Governor’s instruction on the Krama Bali family planning program have a significantly negative impact on KB duration among women of re- productive age in Banjarangkan District, Klungkung Regency; 4) Employed women of reproductive age desire fewer children compared to those who are unemployed in Banjarangkan District, Klungkung Regency; 5) Women’s education and KB dura- tion have a significantly negative impact on the desired number of children among women of reproductive age in Banjarangkan District, Klungkung Regency; 6) Sex preference and the Governor’s instruction on the Krama Bali family planning pro- gram have a positive impact on the desired number of children among women of reproductive age in Banjarangkan District, Klungkung Regency; 7) Women’s em- ployment status, sex preference, the Governor’s instruction on the Krama Bali family planning program, and women’s education influence the desired number of children among women of reproductive age through KB duration in Banjarangkan District, Klungkung

Abstract

Increasing population mobility has resulted in many elderly individuals being left alone. This study aims to: 1) analyze the simultaneous and partial effects of income, health access, environmental conditions, and the perception of menama braya activities on the well-being of the elderly; 2) analyze the role of the perception of menama braya activities in moderating the influence of environmental conditions on the well-being of the elderly. This study uses a quantitative approach with an associative explanatory level. The population in this study consists of residents aged 60 and above in the Karangasem District, totaling 100 individuals. The sampling technique was conducted using accidental sampling combined with snowball sampling, with data collection methods including observation, structured interviews, and in-depth interviews. Data analysis was performed using moderated regression analysis. The results of the study show that: 1) income, health access, environmental conditions, and the perception of menama braya activities simultaneously have a significant effect on the well-being of the elderly; 2) income, health access, environmental conditions, and the perception of equalizing activities partially have a significant positive effect on the well-being of the elderly; 3) the perception of equalizing activities moderates (weakens) the influence of environmental conditions on the well-being of the elderly.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the simultaneous and partial influences of the ideal number of children, women's employment status, family perceptions of male children, age at first marriage, and women's education level on fertility rates in the Karangasem District, as well as to analyze the role of women's education level in moderating the impact of age at first marriage on fertility rates in the Karangasem District. This study employs a quantitative method with an associative approach. It utilizes Snowball Sampling and Accidental Sampling techniques for sampling. Data collection was conducted using observation, structured interviews, and in-depth interviews with a sample size of 99 Couples of Reproductive Age (CRA). The data analysis technique used is moderation regression analysis. The results of this study indicate: 1) The ideal number of children, women's employment status, family perceptions of male children, age at first marriage, and women's education level have a simultaneous and significant effect on fertility rates; 2) Age at first marriage and women's education level have a negative and significant impact on fertility rates; 3) The ideal number of children and family perceptions of male children have a positive and significant impact on fertility rates; 4) Women working in the formal sector have lower fertility rates than those in the informal sector; 5) Women's education level as a moderating variable strengthens the influence of age at first marriage on fertility rates.
