Abstract

Indonesia is a multicultural and developing country. Yet nowadays many social problems are taking place in various fields of life. By comparing with the other multicultural country in the ASEAN region, it is still being left behind by Singapore and Thailand. As the November 1997 monatary crises, so that implied to another sectors. Consequently, cultural capital as collective power of community such as togetherness, solidarity, cooperation, tolerance, trust, and responsibility which are hold by each community members, have been weakening even nearly broken. Such dynamic and developing society like Indonesia very need attention. As national and local leader, the experts in social and educational matter obligated to serve as agent of social change for the society. Th plural condition of Indonesian society such as ethnic, race, religion, and social status to contibute on development of society. Therefore, containing multicultural matter to education system is very important, either as substance or model of learning due to could contribute in debriefing, developing insight and personality of students. Beside it practices students in facing social problem in middle of their community.

Abstract

Lintongnihuta Village, Ronggurnihuta District, Samosir Regency is a partner village that is the target audience for the Community Partnership Program with the activity of Implementing Local Wisdom Values "Poda Na Lima" in forming the character of the z generation. Generation-Z of the people of Lintongnihuta Village cannot be separated from very advanced technological developments, this has a negative impact on the character of the younger generation if it is not balanced with strengthening local wisdom values that have been passed down from their ancestors. The community partnership program activity of implementing the local wisdom values "Poda Na Lima" in forming Generation-Z's character offers several alternative solutions, including: providing outreach about the urgency of Generation-Z's character amidst the development of information technology. Providing assistance to Generation-Z, through seminars, discussions and mutual cooperation in cleaning the surrounding environment.

Abstract

Limited learning resources for integrating theory and practice in e-module-based physical education, particularly in basketball, present challenges in enhancing student learning outcomes. This study addresses the development and assessment of multimedia-based basketball teaching materials aimed at improving students' understanding and performance in sports education. This research employed a Research and Development (RD) approach with a quantitative design. The developed multimedia basketball game application was evaluated by experts, including basketball coaches and university lecturers from Medan State University, to assess its suitability as a teaching resource. The evaluation process involved both content and media experts. The assessment by basketball learning material experts yielded a score of 87.52%, indicating the application is highly suitable for use in educational settings. Media experts provided a score of 89.70%, further affirming the multimedia basketball application’s effectiveness as a teaching tool. Both evaluations reflect the application’s potential to bridge the gap between theory and practice in basketball education. The findings suggest that the multimedia basketball game application is a viable tool for enhancing basketball education. Its implementation can improve the quality of teaching, support lecturers in delivering complex content, and ultimately enhance students' learning outcomes in sports science. The development of a multimedia-based e-module for basketball is a significant step towards improving the resources available for physical education. The application has been validated by experts and can be effectively integrated into the curriculum to enhance learning in basketball courses.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui mengapa tradisi Mameakkon Batu Ojahan masih dipertahankan hingga saat ini, mendiskripsikan fungsi dan tujuan tradisi Mameakkon Batu Ojahan yang dilaksanakan oleh masyarakat batak toba di Desa Pangguruan Kecamatan Sumbul. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskripstif. Penelitian ini dilakukan di desa Pangguruan Kecamatan Sumbul. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah oberservasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teknis analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Masyarakat Desa Pangguruan masih mempertahankan dan melestarikan tradisi ini untuk menjaga tradisi budaya yang sudah ada sejak dahulu agar tidak hilang serta sebagai ruang lingkup masyarakat untuk saling berinteraksi dan mempererat solidaritas ditengah masyarakat. Tradisi Mameakkon Batu Ojahan memiliki 2 fungsi yaitu, fungsi sosial dan fungsi religi. Tradisi Mameakkon Batu Ojahan bertujuan sebagai penghormatan kepada leluhur dan juga memberikan fungsi sosial dimana dapat menghimpun masyarakat setempat untuk berkumpul dan melaksanakan ritual secara bersama untuk mempererat tali persaudaraan antara keluarga dengan anggota masyarakat. Solidaritas masyarakat secara alamiah terbentuk menjadi sebuah harmoni yang dapat mempererat tali persaudaraan antara individu dengan individu.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the relationship between spatial structure, cultural identity, and local values in traditional Batak Toba settlements as the basis for sustainable development based on local wisdom. Using an ethnographic approach through field observations and in-depth interviews, it was found that the spatial layout of the settlement with its configuration of huta, bolon house, sopo, and alaman communal space represents a clan-based social system and Batak Toba traditional cosmology. Space not only functions utilitarianly, but also has symbolic meaning that reflects social relations, spirituality, and collective identity. The use of local materials, the orientation of buildings towards the environment, and the practice of mutual cooperation in house construction indicate that the Batak Toba people have traditionally applied the principles of ecological and social sustainability. The process of modernization and changes in values have the potential to threaten the sustainability of this traditional space, both physically and symbolically. Therefore, the preservation of traditional settlements needs to not only focus on architectural aspects, but also include the revitalization of cultural values as an integral part of an inclusive and contextual sustainable development strategy Keywords:  Toba Batak, ethnography, cultural identity, sustainability, traditional settlements

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apa yang menyebabkan berkurangnya penggunaan bahasa Etnis di Pegagan Julu I Kecamatan Sumbul. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Data dalam peneltian diperoleh melalui wawancara mendalam dan dokumentasi.Analisis data dilakukan dengan mengumpulkan data, mereduksi data, penyajian data,serta penerarikan kesimpulan. Adapun beberapa informan dalam penelitian ini yaitu Tokoh Masyarakat Pakpak,Masyarakat Etnis Pakpak yang Paham Bahasa Etnis Pakpak, Masyarakat Etnis Pakpak Yang tidak Paham Bahasa Etnis Pakpak untuk menjawab penyebab dan dampak berkurangnya penggunaan bahasa Etnis Pakpak Di Pegagan Julu I Kecamatan Sumbul. Berkurangnya penggunaan bahasa Pakpak di masyarakat disebabkan oleh beberapa faktor yang saling terkait salah satunya adanya dominasi suku Batak Toba di lingkungan tersebut membuat bahasa Batak Toba lebih sering digunakan dalam komunikasi sehari-hari, Berkurangnya penggunaan bahasa Pakpak memiliki dampak yang signifikan terhadap identitas dan budaya masyarakat tersebut. Bahasa dianggap sebagai elemen penting dari identitas suatu etnis, dan ketika bahasa ini jarang digunakan, identitas masyarakat Pakpak berisiko memudar
