Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of audio visual use on students' mastery concepts. The type of research is quasi experiment . The design of this research is Non-equivalent Control Group Design. The population of this study are students of class VIII SMP. The sample of this research VIII.A class as experimental class and VIII.B class as control class chosen by purposive sampling. In the learning process, the experimental class is taught by using Audio visual media in the form of video and control class is taught with power point media (PPT). Data retrieval uses conception master test with multiple choice form which has been tested for its validity and reliability. Quantitative data were obtained from the average pretest, posttest, and N-gain values analyzed using t-test. Result of research of hypothesis test of Posttest data shows that value of Sig = 0,037 <0,05. While the value of t-arithmetic = 2, 152> t-table = 1.684. The average value of N-gain Pretest-Posttest experimental class is 0.67 classified, while the average value of N-gain Pretest-Posttest control class is 0.57 including medium category. Based on the results of the study can be concluded that the application of audio visual media in the form of video significantly influence the mastery of students' concepts on the material of human digestive system in VIII class. Keywords: concept mastery, digestive system, learning, audio visual media

Abstract

The implementation of the 2013 curriculum has emphasized the process of learning with a scientific approach. Scientific approach is highly centered on learners. This study aims to determine the influence of scientific approach to science process in VII class. The research method used quasi-experiment and using non - equivalent control group design. The sample of the study amounted to 74 students. The results showed that the science process skills of learners on the implementation of learning with a scientific approach is better than the control class. Communication skills are the most valuable aspect of science process skills whereas prediction skills are the least valuable aspects of science process skills. Based on the calculation of t test, the science process skill of students showed tarithmetic = 2.630 while t table with α = 5% and dk = 74 - 2 = 72 obtained result 1.670, because tarithmetic > t table . It can be concluded that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. This is reinforced by the results of the N-gain test, improving the science process skills of learners in the experimental class of 0.53 while in the control class of 0.32. Based on the results of research can be concluded that the scientific approach affects the skills of students' science processes on the material global warming at VII class. Keywords: scientific approach, science process skills, global warming

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of mind mapping learning strategy on student learning outcomes onexcretory system material in XI Science class. The research method used in this research is quasiexperimental method with design non - randomized Control Group Pretest-Postest Design . The population inthis study includes all XI science class in senior high school which amounts to 60 students. The samplingtechnique used sampling saturated with class XI Science 1 which amounted to 30 students as experimentalclass and class XI Science 2 which amounted to 30 students as control class. The instrument used in thisresearch is written test in the form of pretest and posttest to measure student learning result cognitively. Thefirst stage data analysis of the average value of pretest in experimental class is 47.50 while the control class is49.50. After applying the mind mapping strategy , the average grade of post experiment class increased withthe average value of 83.33 which is very good while the mean score of posttest of control class is 73,2 which isgood. The calculation results are known that there is influence a significant application of mindmapping learning strategy to student learning outcomes. Keywords: learning, mind mapping, result study, excretory system
