Abstract

Multiculturalism is rooted in the terma of pluralism, in the sense that Islam looks at the diversity of the tribe, nation, language, culture and religion as reality, even as the media to know each other, respect, and appreciate so that created a life that is peaceful, tolerant, and peace in accordance with the terminology of Islam as a religion of peace. Islamic concept of multiculturalism is explicitly stated in the verses of the Qur'an and the Hadith of the Prophet, which outline include: attitude to appreciate yourself, menghargaioranglain attitude, the attitude of valuing natural environments and culturally, attitudes appreciate the beauty, attitude, and appreciate the beauty of the attitude of valuing integrity.

Abstract

This paper is about to assert that the triumph of science in the Islamic Spain didn’t only occur in the period following the Umayyad dynasty II (c. 756-1031), but quite the dynasty during the reign of al-Muwahhidun (1078-1214) and reached its peak under the the reign of the Caliph Abu Yusuf Ya'qub al-Mansur (d. 580 h./1184 M). The intellectual glory of Andalusia marked several things: first, expedition scientists massively in the Umayyad II to the Eastern Islamic world in order to study and acquire as many references to the development of science upon his return to their Islamic Spain; Second, the migration of scientists to Eastern Andalusia happened in al-Muwahhidun dynasty is the transmission of knowledge from the East to the Islamic Spain; and the third, the translation movement in the 12th century and 13rd based in Toledo can be seen is the bridge to the current scientific knowledge of the Arab world to Europe, Islam is encouraged intellectual progress stretching in Andalusia. Abstract

This article seeks to offer a learning design of multicultural on History of Islamic Culture in Higher Education. These multicultural values include an attitude of self-respect, an attitude of respect for others, an attitude of respect for the environment and cultural nature, an attitude of appreciating beauty, an attitude of appreciating beauty, and an attitude of appreciating wholeness. The six values of multiculturalism are expected to be internalized in learning by lecturers of Islamic Cultural History courses in Higher Education in a design of learning models, starting from planning to arrange curriculum, syllabus and semester course plans (RPS) or lecture event units (SAP), to arranging lecture material for History of Islamic Culture and its studen book. While the application of learning design includes strategy, methods and evaluation. However, this matter, at the level of its application in higher education as mentioned above will be meaningless, unless the SKI lecturer who is responsible for internalizing multicultural values as mentioned above has a high awareness of the values of multiculturalism. Without the SKI lecturers who are aware of multicuralism, the values of multiculturalism will never be internalized in the attitudes and personalities of students as well students.

Abstract

The debate on women’s social role in Islam is an endless issue. What hasbeen done by contemporary muslim thinkers to cover women issues is notenough to influence central feminism issue, gender equality and genderequity. It can be shown from the stereotype for women to limit women’ssocial role only in domestic area still exists. The stereotype on womenis based on the understanding religious doctrine which is inherited byprevious generation and it is considered to have historical root in Prophet’stradition and His followers. This writing tries to prove that   in the age ofthe Prophet and the age of khulafa ar Rasyidun can be the pilot project ofsocial role of women historically as well as normatively. At least, womenplayed significant role during that age in social, economics, and politics areas. All the facts of women’s role are included within Qur’an and hadith and they are also released in classical history of Islam such as Tarikh alThabariand Thabaqat Ibn Sa’ad.

Abstract

This essay is aim at tracing the root of scientific philosophy in Islamic perspective, without overlook at the concept of the knowledge of philosophy before it is molded as the branch of philosophy. The objective is finding out the basic framework for the integration of science and Islamic knowledge. It is based on two reasons: first, based on the thesis that says that there is no dichotomous thinking in knowledge. Second, Al Qur’an as the revelation of God is mostly considered as the source of the knowledge. Basically, the concept of knowledge in Islam is comprehensively-deeply considered, even more comprehensive than the concept of knowledge in western point of view. Thus, it is no exaggeration to say that if the contemporary science is compared with the concept of knowledge in Islam, the contemporary knowledge will be in a lower level than knowledge in Islamic concept as it is considered by modern civilization. In short, the development of knowledge in tauhid1 framework is a sine qua non to transform Moslems to be the clever and wise people. Tauhid can transform Muslims to be a person who are able to give an original, exclusive and Islamic contribution to the exiting body of knowledge, who are able to offer a solution of the humanity problem for the sake of the creation of the life that is more humane. It is also including Muslims who are able to be intellectual leadership and, at the same time be solid foundations of the construction of culture and Islamic civilization.Keyword: Scientific Philosophy, Integration of Knowledge and Religion

Abstract

This paper discusses Timur Lenk who is ambitious to dominate the world through the founding of the great Mongol Empire as a mission ever launched by the grandchildren of Genghis Khan and Hulagu Khan. Timur Lenk himself continued the tradition of the Mongolian invasion force that is not forcing religion or spiritual practices to a conquered nation; they even build the conquest countries with the principle of regionalism. Even, in the end, the King of Mongolia turned to Islam, including Timur Lenk himself at the end of the 13th century and early 14th century. Then Mongolism Ideology becomes a major platform in conquering the entire countries with the royal and military strength. There are two basic frameworks of the Mongolian nation in its military power expansion, as the one done by Timur Lenk: first, the geneolis theory: the world hegemony to perpetuate the Mongol Empire using military force and running the ancient absolutism politic believing that the greater authority of the ruler could result on achieving peace and security. Second, attack and defend theory: rebuilding a country that has been destroyed with luxurious infrastructures like an extraordinary magnificent palace, developing science, history, Sufism and then try to defend them.Pada dasarnya makalah ini membincang sepak terjang Timur Lenk yang berambisi menguasai dunia lewat pendirian Imperium Mongol Raya sebagaimana misi yang pernah dicanangkan oleh buyutnya Jenghis Khan dan Hulagu Khan. Timur Lenk sendiri tetap melanjutkan tradisi invasi bangsa Mongolia yaitu tidak memaksakan agama ataupun praktek spiritualitasnya terhadap bangsa yang ditaklukkannya, justru mereka membangun negeri taklukannya dengan prinsip kedaerahan. Bahkan pada akhirnya Raja Mongolia yang berbalik memeluk agama Islam termasuk Timur Lenk sendiri pada akhir abad ke-13 dan awal abad ke-14. Kemudian Ideologi Mongolisme menjadi platform utama dalam menaklukkan seluruh negara dengan kekuatan kerajaan dan militer. Ada dua kerangka dasar bangsa Mongolia dalam menancapkan kekuasaan militernya, seperti yang dilakukan oleh Timur Lenk yaitu: pertama, teori geneolis: hegemoni dunia untuk melanggengkan Imperium Mongol Raya dengan garis komando kekuatan militer dan menjalankan politik absolutisme kuno yakni percaya bahwa semakin besar kekuasaan penguasa maka peluang perdamaian dan keamanan akan tercapai. Abstract

In Indonesia, there are many experts in astronomy, one of which is Sriyatin Shodiq Al-Falaky with his scientific work Ephemeris Al-Falakiyah. This research method uses a qualitative descriptive approach and the type of research is a field study. The research source is the calculation of the beginning of the month of Ramadan and Shawwal with the Ephemeris-Al-Falakiyah system and astrophotography as the primary source. The secondary source is the calculation of the beginning of the month of Ramadan and Shawwal from various reckoning systems in Indonesia. Data collection was carried out by interviewing the main character Sriyatin Shodiq Al-Falaky. The results of the study found that the Ephemeris Al-Falakiyah system of scientific work by Sriyatin Shodiq Al-Falaky used the contemporary essential method of reckoning. The results of the calculation of the beginning of Ramadan and Shawwal as the determinants of the beginning of the Hijri month are very accurate and can be compared with various reckoning systems in Indonesia and there are no significant differences with other contemporary methods of reckoning.

Abstract

Abad 21 ditandai dengan percepatan perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan, teknologi dan informasi serta tidak ada batas antara ruang dan waktu antar negara. Standar baru diperlukan agar siswa memiliki kompetensi yang dibutuhkan di abad 21. Salah satu cara yang dapat digunakan yakni dengan dikembangkannya bahan ajar berupa lembar kerja peserta didik elektronik berbasis REACT. Oleh karena itu, peneliti melakukan pengembangan bahan ajar LKPD elektronik dengan memanfaatkan situs Liveworksheets. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk menghasilkan lembar kerja peserta didik elektronik fiqih berbasis REACT menggunakan Liveworksheets, menganalisis kelayakan, dan menganalisis keefektifannya dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII-G dan VII-H MTs Negeri 2 Pasuruan. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yakni observasi, wawancara, angket, dan dokumentasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian pengembangan atau R&D dengan menggunakan model ADDIE yang terdiri dari lima tahapan yaitu Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation. Produk yang dikembangkan dilakukan uji validasi oleh ahli bahasa, ahli materi, dan ahli media. Berdasarkan uji validasi ahli bahasa memperoleh persentase 100%, uji validasi ahli materi memperoleh persentase 94,1%, sedangkan uji validasi ahli media memperoleh persentase 89,5%. Dengan demikian LKPD elektronik yang dikembangkan dapat dikategorikan sangat layak. Berdasarkan hasil angket respon siswa pada uji coba terbatas memperoleh persentase sebanyak 91,25% dan pada uji coba lapangan memperoleh persentase 93% dengan kualifikasi sangat baik. Dengan ini LKPD elektronik berbasis REACT menggunakan Liveworksheets sangat layak digunakan dalam proses belajar. Kemudian dari hasil uji N-Gain, peningkatan kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa pada kelas eksperimen mendapatkan skor rata-rata 67% yang masuk dalam kategori cukup efektif dan memiliki interpretasi bahwa LKPD elektronik Fiqih berbasis REACT memiliki efektivitas yang sedang dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi. The 21st century is marked by the accelerated development of science, technology and information and there are no boundaries between space and time between countries. New standards are needed so that students have the competencies needed in the 21st century. One way that can be used is by developing teaching materials in the form of REACT-based electronic student worksheets. Therefore, researchers are developing electronic worksheet teaching materials by utilizing the Liveworksheets site. The purpose of this study was to produce electronic student worksheets fiqh based on REACT using Liveworksheets, analyze their feasibility, and analyze their effectiveness in improving higher-order thinking skills. The subjects in this study were students of class VII-G and VII-H of MTs Negeri 2 Pasuruan. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. This research uses development research or R&D using the ADDIE model which consists of five stages, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation. The products developed were tested for validation by linguists, material experts, and media experts. Based on the validation test, the linguist obtained a percentage of 100%, the validation test for the material expert obtained a percentage of 94.1%, and the media expert validation test obtained a percentage of 89.5%. Thus the developed electronic LKPD can be categorized as very feasible. Based on the results of the questionnaire, students' responses in the limited trial obtained a percentage of 91.25% and in the field trial obtained a percentage of 93% with very good qualifications. With this, REACT-based electronic worksheets using Liveworksheets are very feasible to use in the learning process. Then from the results of the N-Gain test, the increase in students' higher-order thinking skills in the experimental class obtained an average score of 67% which was in the quite effective category and has the interpretation that the REACT-based Fiqh electronic worksheet has moderate effectiveness in increasing higher-order thinking skills.
