Abstract

This case study aimed to analyze the role of communication in migration decision making process, how did information seeking and meaning construction of fantasy themes encourage migration decision making. The subject of this research was the migrant youth group of Rejosari Village, Yogyakarta. The research was qualitative method using fantasy theme analysis. Fantasy theme is derived from Symbolic Convergence Theory that sees how narration can construct fantasy themes in migrating behavior. This research found that the fantasy themes emerged from the narration constructed a new meaning that is decision making. The group is considered as a credible source of information about migration rather than their families. Although they do not exclude the role of the family on migration decisions. The group has an important role in supporting and sustaining individual decision-making.

Abstract

Efikasi diri berkaitan dengan keyakinan petani akan kemampuannya dalam menggunakan media sosial untuk e-commerce. Media sosial merupakan aplikasi berbasis teknologi informasi dan komunikasi yang dapat diakses tanpa batasan ruang dan waktu sehingga memungkinkan untuk memperluas pemasaran dan menjangkau konsumen yang lebih beragam. Tujuan penelitian untuk menganalisis pengaruh media sosial terhadap efikasi diri petani tanaman hias dalam menggunakan media sosial untuk e-commerce di Kabupaten Bogor. Populasi penelitian sebanyak 427 petani tanaman hias, dengan menggunakan rumus slovin diperoleh 210 responden sebagai sampel penelitian. Penarikasn sampel dilakukan secara acak sederhana. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode survei explanatory research dengan teknik pengumpulan data deskriptif kuantitatif yaitu observasi dan wawancara dipandu kuesioner yang telah dilakukan uji validitas dan realibilitas. Metode analisis data menggunakan analisis regresi, tabulasi data, estimasi model dan interpretasi model regresi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengaruh media sosial melalui sistem sosial merupakan variabel memiliki nilai pengaruh yang lebih tinggi daripada media sosial secara langsung terhadap efikasi diri petani tanaman hias dalam menggunakan media sosial untuk e-commerce.

Abstract

IPB university is one of the universities that has many innovations, this can be shown by IPB's achievements for 12 (twelve) consecutive years (2008-2019) participating in the 100 plus Indonesian innovation program organized by the Business Innovation Center (BIC) with support from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemenristekdikti RI) and The Indonesian Academy of Sciences (LIPI). Higher education is an innovation center that plays a role in the progress of society, providing impact and solutions from the results of research conducted. However, the reality is whether the research carried out provides an effective solution to the community or is it just a collection of books that are neatly stored in the library and can only be accessed by certain circles. The research method is designed using qualitative method. Qualitative data informants are representatives of each component, managers and innovators. Qualitative data processing using SWOT analysis (Strength, Weakness, Oppurtunities, Threats). Abstract

This study examines the determinants of cultivators’ participation in the development of Trigona sp. beekeeping groups in East Belitung Regency. A deductive approach was employed using quantitative descriptive analysis. The research was conducted in East Belitung Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands Province, focusing on Trigona sp. beekeepers who are members of the East Belitung Teran Honey Geographical Indication Protection Society (MPIG). Sampling was conducted through a probability sampling technique, specifically simple random sampling, yielding 135 respondents. Data were collected through surveys using structured questionnaires and interviews with Trigona sp. beekeepers. Data analysis was performed using Microsoft Excel and SPSS software, applying multiple linear regression. The findings indicate that the determinants influencing cultivators’ participation in developing Trigona sp. beekeeping groups in East Belitung Regency, both individually and collectively, include individual characteristics, credibility of information sources, information quality, communication channels, and communication context.

Abstract

Waste management issues in Indonesia are a major concern due to the high volume and poor management systems in many Final Processing Sites (TPAs). This study aims to analyze the impact of the expansion of the Ijobalit Landfill in East Lombok Regency on the environment and social dynamics of the surrounding community. The research uses a qualitative approach with an embedded single case study design. Data was collected through field observation and in-depth interviews, then analyzed using NVivo 12 Plus software. The results showed that the expansion of the landfill was carried out without meeting the operational standards (SOP) and SNI, causing various negative impacts, such as water and air pollution, declining the quality of agricultural land, health problems, and social unrest in the community. Economically, landfills do not make a significant contribution to the welfare of the community. The conclusions of this study emphasize the importance of sustainable and participatory landfill management. This study recommends the need for ecological and social-based waste management policies, involving communities in every stage of planning and decision-making.
