Abstract

This purpose of this study to look at the spatial and temporal variations in the concentration of chlorophyll-a with aqua MODIS satellite image and look the relationship between the concentration of chlorophyll-a and catch of tuna (Thunnus sp) in West Sumatra by using correlation analysis. The location of fishing ground tuna (Thunnus sp) in West Sumatra at 00 0’ 0’’ S - 50 05’ 0’’ S dan 900 3’ 00’’E - 1020 37’ 00’’ E. The based coordinate of fishing ground and analyzed distribution of chlorophyll-a used satellite imagery of aqua MODIS in 2013, the catched of tuna held in distribution chlorophyll-a ranging 0,152 mg/m3 – 0,255 mg/m3. The catch is highest January (West season), April (Season West-East), July (East season) and October (Season East-West). The high catches of the highest of the season because effort high. Based on the value CPUE, in August categorized as good month with the arrest of most value CPUE 16.4142 kg /setting with catches of 22 670 kg (10%) of the total catch of 235 217 kg. The analysis showed height correlation between concentration of chlorophyll-a and tuna catches with coefficient correlation (r) and coefficient determination (R2) respectively 0,97 and 96,33%.Keyword : chlorophyll-a, Cacthed Tuna (Thunnus sp), aqua MODIS, correlation of coefficient (r) and coefficient of determination (R2).

Abstract

Has conducted a study to determine the pattern of fishing season bilis (Stolephorus Spp.) in the waters of the Strait Asam Meranti Islands regency of Riau Province with method survey /direct observation, with use some formulas including average, variance, standard deviation, maximum value, minimum value and range. Based on the analysis, patterns bilis season in waters of the strait starts from the beginning of December to March and July to September and entered the peak months in January and August, the first transitional season in April-June and October-November switchover II. the catch is affected by the monsoon, season affected the West Wind and East Wind ongoing season, when the North and South Season (transitional season) bilis difficult to obtain due to the influence of big waves and temperature begin to warm water.Key words: pattern wind season, the average catch, the fishing season bilis

Abstract

This research was meant to find out variability temperature and klorofil-a the surfaceeither of sea in spatial or temporal in Malacca strait waters in the Eastern (June - August)during the cycle of recording (2009 - 2012). Methods used is desk analysis is analyzed dataobtained without doing validation and verification in the field. The data in described based ontheories. A pattern of distribution spl very closely relation to patterns of wind that blows in anarea. To scatter spl in malacca strait waters also affected by oscillations climatology. Saji, etal ( 2003 ) in Lubis ( 2012 ) presented the sea surface temperatures in the tropics varying inspatial and temporal. The maximum value temperature the average sea level in malacca straitwaters in the eastern 2009-2012 year reaching 35 oc network. Distribution klorofil-a inmalacca strait waters in the eastern 2009-2012 year average value maximum velocity reached55,40 mg / m3.Key Word: Variability Spatial dan Temporal, Sea SurfaceTemperature , Clorofil-a, MallacaStrait, Aqua Modis.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to know the potential fishing ground of tuna(Thunnus sp) by mapping distribution of sea surface temperature satellite imageryof Aquarius and catched in waters of West Sumatra and then plotted estimated offishing ground in form of map. The analysis data was conducted in FishingGround Laboratory Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences University of Riau,Pekanbaru. This study using Aquarius satelite imagery data level 3, with a 4 kmspatial resolution. In this study sea surface temperature ranging from 27,040C–30,170C. Tuna was catched dominantly temperature in west season is in range27,090C–29,280C, transition season I 27,040C–30,170C, east season 28,690C–29,820C and transition season II 27,320C–29,540C. The catched with CPUEhighest value 7.5963 kg/day in August. The catches of all tuna is category viablecatch. The potential fishing ground were found ground of Siberut and Siporaisland waters. Keywords : Sea Surface Temperature, Satelite Imagery, Aquarius, T. Albacares,T.obesus.

Abstract

Survey and measurement of aquatic environmental condition of Halang Island water was conducted in order to know the physical and chemical parameters in the Halang Island water. Measurement was conducted at three stations a long the Halang Island, and the data was collected has been analysis by multiple linear regression. The result of this observation for a environment parameter were as following temperatures 270C – 320C, current speed 0,2 m/s - 0,9 m/s, brightness 0,39 m - 0,45 m, salinity 15‰- 20‰, dissolved oxygen 1,8 mg/l – 2,1 mg/l and pH 5 – 6. Based analysis with multiple linear regression, the parameters of the water hasn't effect on catches indicated by the regression coefficient (R) of 0,0057 (close to zero) and R square value of 32,3%.According to the result analysis, can be concluded that the aquatic environment in the coastal area of Halang island was still suffientas habitat for living organisms and may be used for fishing activities. Keywords: Halang Island, Study physical and chemical parameters

Abstract

The research about Fishing Ground Gill Net Surface in the waters of theBogak Besar Noni Teluk Serdang Bedagai North Sumatra Province held on 23August 2014. The aimed of this to determine the state of the marine environmentoperation of gill nets surface such as depth, brightness, flow velocity, temperature, salinity, pH, and the type of fish caught in the waters of the Great Bogak. Themethod used in this study is a survey method that is by measuring the directobservation of environmental parameters and operation of a surface gill netfishing gear research location. The data collected in this study are: demography, topography, depth, brightness, temperature, salinity, current velocity, and pH. Thecatch and the measurement of these parameters are collected and then tabulatedinto a table and analyzed descriptively. The observation of environmental parameters during the study was thetemperature ranges from 28 0C - 30 0C, Flow ranges from 0.15 m / s - 0.25 m / s,the brightness ranging from 0.80 m - 1.13 m, Kedalama ranged between 10 m - 16m, salinity ranged between 23.4‰- 26.2‰and pH (acidity) ranged from 7-9.Keywords: Gill net, gill net operating area

Abstract

The purpose of this studywas to determine the potential area for catchingcakalang (Katsuwonuspelamis) based on the distribution of chlorophyll-a satellite image of the NPP VIIRS in West Sumatra Waters by 2013. The methods used in this study are a survey method and spatial analysis. The results of this studysuggest that the location of the fishing ground cakalang by 2013 is at position 00 25 ' 48 " N – 50 34 ' 48" S and 950 25 ' 23 " E-1000 57 ' E. Distribution of chlorophyll-a who analyzed satellite images of NPP VIIRS between 0.13-0.26 mg/m3 whereas maximum CPUE as much as 0,1875 kg/trip in April. Correlation between chlorophyll-a and CPUE have strong relationship i.e. 0.60 while the influence of these variables both 36% among other factors. The resulting regression equation both of these variables showed that the increasing chlorophyll-a caused the decline of the CPUE.Keywords: Chlorophyll-A, Satelite Imagery, NPP VIIRS ,Katsuwonus pelamis
