Abstract

Nypa Palm Worm Namalycastis rhodohorde has economic potential as an export commodity. Condition current population continues to decline due to habitat degradation and overharvesting. Cultivation be a solution to overcome these problems. On the laboratory scale this species has been successfully cultivated, but still faces obstacles to high mortality in early developmental stages. Larvae obtained by artificial fertilization and maintained with the same stocking density and container as well as the same volume of maintenance media only distinguished by two treated feed. Survival and growth of larvae feed did not differ between treatment seaweed and fermented palm fronds. Different stocking densities suggested for further research related to survival and growth of the Nypa palm worm larvae to obtain the best data for mass production

Abstract

The behavior of both acoustic and visual signals has been observed in Staurois gutattus black-spotted rock frogs. The aim of the study was to determine how S. gutattus frogs communicate to find their mates through acoustic and visual signals. This research was conducted in Mount Poteng, West Kalimantan. Data were analyzed descriptively and graphically to explain the relationship between the measured parameters. Data collection of advertisement call, foot-flagging and amplexus behavior is done directly in the field. All activities carried out are recorded with the camera. The duration of each part of the breeding activity is also calculated using a stopwatch. The male frog's advertisement call and foot-flagging are carried out by the male frogs while attracting their mates to mate. Where the foot-flagging activity was mostly carried out on the rock substrate (62%), while on the leaf substrate advertisement call was more dominant (47%). Then based on the duration, activity advertisement call, foot-flagging and amplexus the longest duration was performed by male frogs in the time range 18.00-05.59. Meanwhile, from the number of individuals, the advertisement call, foot-flagging and amplexus activities were mostly carried out at 18.00-05.59.

Abstract

Pipe fish is a type of freshwater fish that has potential as ornamental fish. The research objective was to determine the status and habitat conditions of the Merowi River pipe fish as a member of Syngnathidae. The research was conducted from July to December 2019. The research stations were determined based on differences in existing environmental bases. Sampling had done randomly by using scoop net and umbrella fish trap. The data used include population density, age group,test Chi-Square and Principal Component Analysis (PCA). The results showed that 2 genera consisted of 3 species of pipe fish, as much 248 individu. Doryichthys deokhatoides 26 individu (0.042 Catch/Unit Efort); D. martensii 209 individu (0.34 Catch/Unit Efort); Microphis retzii 13 individu (0.02 Catch/Unit Efort). The length of the pipe fish ranged from 48.1 mm to 87.4 mm, and the ratio of male to female is 1: 1 (balanced). The presence of members of Syngnathidae in the Merowi River was effect by temperature and current velocity. Abstrak Ikan pipa adalah salah satu jenis ikan air tawar yang potensial sebagai ikan hias. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis struktur populasi dan kondisi habitat ikan pipa dari famili Syngnathidae di Sungai Merowi. Penelitian dilaksanakan Bulan Juli hingga Desember 2019 pada 10 stasiun pengamatan yang ditentukan berdasarkan tutupan vegetasi dan arus sungai. Pengambilan sampel ikan pipa dilakukan secaracak dengan menggunakan serokan dan perangkap bubu payung. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis kepadatan populasi, kelompok umur, uji Chi-Square dan Analisis Komponen Utama. Hasil identifikasi diperoleh 2 marga dan 3 spesies ikan pipa sebanyak 248 individu yaitu Doryichthys deokhatoides 26 individu (0,042 individu/usaha); D. martensii 209 individu (0,34 individu/usaha); dan Microphis retzii 13 individu (0,02 individu/usaha). Ukuran panjang ikan pipa yang ditemukan berkisar 48,1 mm hingga 87,4 mm. Dari analisis Chi-Square diketahui ikan pipa yang ditemukan memiliki nisbah jantan dan betina 1:1 (seimbang). Kehadiran anggota famili Syngnathidae di Sungai Merowi dipengaruhi oleh faktor suhu dan kecepatan arus.

Abstract

Abstrak  Monitoring parit-parit yang mengalir telah rutin dilakukan setiap tahun dengan menggunakan parameter fisika-kimia, namun belum menggunakan parameter biologi untuk menentukan status kualitas airnya. Penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kondisi kualitas air parit-parit di kota Sanggau berdasarkan struktur komunitas Oligochaeta akuatik. Sampel cacing diambil menggunakan Ekman grab pada lima stasiun berbeda. Analisis data menggunakan nilai indeks-indeks struktur komunitas yang dianalisis secara deskriptif. Cacing oligochaeta akuatik yang ditemukan ada tiga spesies yaitu tiga spesies yaitu Branchiura sowerbyi, Limnodrilus claparedeianus, dan Limnodrilus hoffmeisteri. Nilai indeks Diversitas dan keseragaman didapatkan rendah, sementara indeks dominansi tinggi. Kualitas air parit-parit di Kota Sanggau telah tercemar bahan organik sehingga diperlukan pengelola airnya dan tidak menjadi sumber pencemaran Sungai Kapuas. Abstract

Sengkubang Village is a mangrove area located in Mempawah Hilir District, Mempawah Regency, West Kalimantan. Sengkubang Village already has a Coastal Community Group that cares about the preservation of mangroves. However, community empowerment still needs to cover women's communities. Most women in Sengkubang Village work as housewives or help their husbands with the gardens. The implementation of community service focuses on empowering the women of Sengkubang Village by providing skills based on natural wealth and plantation products around their residences. Through this skills training, it is hoped that women will be able to fill their spare time by producing banana flour and brownies made from banana flour which are of the sale value. The method of implementing PKM is through short skills training, and participants can bring home their work. The evaluation of PKM activities was carried out using the questionnaire method at the end of the training. The training results showed the enthusiasm of the women's group from the Pelesir community in making banana flour and brownies made from banana flour. 100% of participants strongly agreed that the theme and training could develop their potential to increase their income and daily activities. Subsequent developments will include product marketing assistance through social media and e-commerce.

Abstract

Sungai Kapuas Kecil merupakan percabangan Sungai Kapuas di bagian hilir yang mengalami berbagai tekanan lingkungan akibat aktivitas di daratan sehingga dapat mengubah kualitas airnya. Kualitas air sungai ini lebih banyak ditentukan dengan menggunakan parameter fisika dan kimia, sementara itu parameter biota bentik masih jarang digunakan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menentukan status kualitas air sungai Kapuas Kecil menggunakan biota bentik makrozoobentos dan perifiton. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei dengan menetapkan stasiun sampling berdasarkan rona lingkungan dan kondisi riparian. Data struktur komunitas biota dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitianberdasarkan indeks komunitas makrozoobentos dan perifiton menunjukkan kualitas air sungai Kapuas Kecil memiliki status cemar ringan sampai sedang dengan kandungan fosfat tinggi.
