Abstract

Pada penelitian sebelumnya fragmen gen 1,9 kb telah berhasil diisolasi dari Kawah Domas, Jawa Barat melalui pendekatan metagenom. Fragmen tersebut diketahui mengandung daerah Open Reading Frame (ORF) utuh dari gen pengkode aldolase kelas II dari uncultured Acidilobus sp. yang kemudian disebut sebagai aldII. Fragmen gen aldII tersebut berhasil diekspresikan menjadi protein termostabil aldolase kelas II yang kemudian disebut sebagai AldII. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan studi bioinformasi terhadap protein AldII tersebut. Protein AldII kemudian diketahui memiliki massa molekul ~21,2 kDa dengan rumus molekul C940H1539N261O281S8. Total residu bermuatan negatif (Asp + Glu) sebanyak 22 residu, sedangkan total residu bermuatan positif (Arg + Lys) adalah 18 residu. Nilai pI teoritis AldII sebesar 5,86. Hasil perhitungan indeks kestabilan protein ini adalah 36,61 dan diklasifikasikan sebagai protein yang stabil. Lewat penjajaran dengan homologi terdekat, ditemukan daerah lestari yang dapat menunjukan residu yang mungkin berperan dalam pengikatan logam dan sisi aktif. Prediksi struktur 3D dilakukan secara ab initio, menunjukan adanya 6 struktur β-sheet dan 6 struktur α-heliks. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa protein AldII dari uncultured Acidilobus sp. diduga memiliki aktivitas enzimatik.

Abstract

Whitening cream is a preparation or mixture of ingredients used on the outside of the body to brighten or change the color of the skin, resulting in clean and white skin. Many people, particularly women, use cosmetics to improve the appearance of their skin, one of which is whitening cream. Many producers saw this opportunity and added mercury and hydroquinone to increase the number of consumers because the product will be cheaper and provide faster results to their skin with these ingredients. This study aims to conduct a qualitative analysis of whitening creams circulating in Balikpapan. To achieve this goal, four samples A, B, C, and D were analyzed using the KI color test method, the flame test, and the color reagent method to determine the presence of mercury and hydroquinone.The findings of the qualitative test of the mercury and hydroquinone content in the whitening cream circulating in the city of Balikpapan revealed that three samples, namely samples B, C, and D, were known to contain mercury and two samples (samples A and D) were known to contain hydroquinone.

Abstract

Mie basah merupakan bahan pangan yang banyak diminati oleh masyarakat Indonesia. Mie basah banyak diproduksi oleh industri rumah tangga dengan skala kecil. Mie basah dijual bebas di pasar tradisional dalam bentuk kemasan sederhana, basah dan dijual terbuka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi adanya kandungan formalin, boraks dan cemaran mikroba pada mie basah yang beredar di pasar tradisional di Kota Balikpapan. Metode pengujian formalin menggunakan pereaksi KMnO4 dan spektrofotometer UV-VIS, pengujian boraks menggunakan kertas turmeric dan uji cemaran mikroba menggunakan metode Total Plate Count (TPC). Total sampel mie basah yang didapatkan adalah 6 sampel dari 7 pasar tradisional di Kota Balikpapan. Hasil uji formalin dan boraks dianalisis secara kualitatif sedangkan data cemaran mikroba dianalisis secara kuantitatif dan membandingkan hasilnya dengan SNI. Hasil identifikasi menunjukkan bahwa seluruh sampel mie basah tidak terdapat campuran boraks namun terdapat satu yang terindikasi mengandung formalin. Hasil identifikasi cemaran mikroba menunjukkan mie basah mengandung mikroba dibawah ambang batas maksimal 1 x 106 koloni/gram dan dinyatakan memenuhi syarat mutu mie basah SNI 2987:2015.

Abstract

[Bahasa]: Pengelolaan keuangan masjid menjadi salah satu kunci terlaksananya manajemen masjid yang baik. Namun, masih banyak ditemukan dewan masjid di Indonesia khususnya di Kota Balikpapan yang belum memanfaatkan teknologi informasi dalam menyusun laporan keuangan, sehingga tidak mencapai target pengelolaan keuangann yang efisien, akurat dan transparan. Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan dewan masjid dalam mengelola laporan keuangan yang berbasis teknologi informasi di Kota Balikpapan. Metode yang digunakan dalam program ini adalah pelatihan dan pendampingan penyusunan laporan keuangan berbasis Teknologi Informasi (IT) dengan mitra adalah anggota dewan masjid di kota Balikpapan. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa setelah pelatihan sebanyak 66,7% peserta akan mengaplikasikan IT dalam penyusunan laporan keuangan dan sebanyak 33% mempertimbangkan untuk memanfaatkan teknologi tersebut. Program pengabdian ini mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan mitra dalam mengelola laporan keuangan yang berbasis IT. Program ini menjadi alternatif yang efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan manajemen keuangan dewan masjid di Indonesia. Kata Kunci: pelatihan, manajemen keuangan masjid, teknologi informasi [English]: Mosque financial management is one of the keys to achieving a well mosque management. However, many mosque management boards in Indonesia, especially in Balikpapan City, still have not utilized information technology in the financial report process. Thus, this condition causes inefficient, inaccurate, and non-transparent financial mosque management. This community service program aims to improve the ability of mosque management boards to administer financial reports based on information technology in Balikpapan City. The method used in this program was training and assistance in preparing financial statements based on Information Technology (IT). The participants of this program were members of the mosque management board in Balikpapan city. The results show that after the training, 66.7% of participants will apply IT in preparing financial reports, and 33% will consider utilizing the technology. This community service program can improve partners' knowledge and skills in managing IT-based financial reports. This program is an alternative way to enhance the financial management competence of the mosque management board in Indonesia. Abstract

Sektor UMKM merupakan unit usaha dengan populasi terbesar di Indonesia, dimana sektor yang paling banyak dipilih adalah kuliner. Ketahanan nilai gizi produk pangan UMKM, menjadi salah satu poin penting yang dapat menentukan keunggulan setiap produk yang dipasarkan. Masih banyak pelaku UMKM, yang mengolah produk pangan mereka tanpa memperhitungkan kandungan gizi yang kemungkinan hilang karena cara pengolahan yang salah. Berdasarkan hal tersebut maka, diadakan kegiatan penyuluhan untuk mengedukasi pelaku UMKM akan pentingnya pengetahuan tentang teknologi pangan aplikatif, yang bisa diterapkan untuk meminimalisir nutrient loss pada produk pangan yang dipasarkan. Kegiatan PKM ini dilakukan di lingkungan PERSIT Kartika Chandra Kirana Ranting 2 Kompi Senapan A Yonif Rider 600 Modang, dengan menggunakan metode ceramah dan diskusi. Melalui metode tersebut, tujuan utama dari kegiatan ini terpenuhi yaitu menghasilkan pelaku UMKM bidang kuliner yang sadar dan akan mempertahankan kandungan nutrisi dari produk pangan yang dipasarkan.

Abstract

The AldII protein is a new recombinant protein produced from a novel gene obtained via a metagenome approach. Previous studies showed that this protein is strong and has the same metal binding aspect as the class II Aldolase enzyme. Aldolase is a valuable enzyme used in pharmaceuticals, food processing, and biochemistry. Further investigation is required to comprehend the structure and function of the AldII protein due to its potential. Researchers will conduct sophisticated bioinformatic analysis on the 3D shape and function prediction of AldII using the I-TASSER webserver from Zhanglab. The AldII protein is a new recombinant protein produced from a novel gene obtained via a metagenome approach. Aldolase is a valuable enzyme used in pharmaceuticals, food processing, and biochemistry. Further investigation is required to comprehend the structure and function of the AldII protein due to its potential. Researchers will conduct sophisticated bioinformatic analysis on the 3D shape and function prediction of AldII using the I-TASSER webserver from Zhanglab. The I-TASSER server is an online tool for the automated prediction of protein structure and annotation of functions based on structure. Analysis of the AldII protein using the I-TASSER webserver shows that this protein has a stable structure with the closest structural homology to deoxyribose-phosphate aldolase from Bacillus thuringiensis with PDB code 6btdA. Additionally, the biological structure analysis shows that this protein shares the biological function of the enzyme L-fuculose-1-phosphate aldolase, which is part of the class II Aldolase enzyme that plays a role in the catabolism of arabinose, L-Fuculose, and Rhamnose. The results align with prior research that states the AldII protein is a stable protein with a catalytic side that is homologous to the class II Aldolase enzyme.

Abstract

Pemberian minyak ikan sebagai terapi tambahan skizofrenia dapat menurunkan nilai Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS) pada pasien rawat inap di Rumah Sakit Grhasia. Penelitian cross sectional dilakukan dengan pre-test and post-test with control group design, minyak ikan diberikan 2 kali sehari 1 kapsul selama 6 minggu dan skala PANSS digunakan untuk menilai efektifitas terapi. Untuk pengambilan sampel diambil menggunakan metode consecutive sampling dan data yang diperoleh akan dianalisis menggunakan uji-t berpasangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata 50 poin pada 22 kelompok perlakuan dan rata-rata penurunan sebesar 39,4 poin pada 22 kelompok kontrol. Dapat disimpulkan pemberian minyak ikan sebagai terapi tambahan dalam pengobatan pasien skizofrenia akan memberikan hasil terapi yang lebih baik daripada tidak diberikan tambahan minyak ikan.

Abstract

The rambusa plant (Passiflora foetida L.) is a species utilized as a cover crop due to its capacity to undergo a natural regeneration process in the context of former coal mining operations in East Kalimantan. Rambusa plants have many phytochemical properties, one of which is as an antioxidant. Nevertheless, there is currently a paucity of scientific data regarding the potential antioxidant properties of bioactive compounds in Rambusa roots utilized as cover crop plants. The objective of this study is to investigate the composition of bioactive compounds in the root extract of Rambusa plants that are cultivated on land previously utilized for coal mining in East Kalimantan, with a particular focus on their antioxidant properties. In this study, the exploration was carried out by conducting phytochemical tests using three types of solvents, namely ethanol, ethyl acetate and n-hexane and antioxidant activity tests using the 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) method on the extracted samples. Phytochemical screening results showed the presence of alkaloid, phenolic, flavonoid, terpenoid and saponin bioactive compounds in ethanol extract; alkaloid, phenolic and steroid bioactive compounds in ethyl acetate extract. At the same time, alkaloids and steroids are contained in the n-hexane extract. The DPPH test carried out on the three extracts showed very strong antioxidant activity with IC50 values respectively for ethanol, ethyl acetate and n-hexane extracts are 6.55 ppm, 3.51 ppm and 28.71 ppm. Based on previously reported antioxidant activity data, the antioxidant activity of Rambusa (Passiflora foetida L.) roots growing on coal reclamation land is proven to have much higher activity compared to Rambusa plants growing on fertile land. Thus, the root of the Rambusa plant (Passiflora foetida L.) has enormous potential as an antioxidant and natural medicinal raw material.

Abstract

Mandai, a traditional fermented food product from East Kalimantan, is derived from the edible mesocarp of the cempedak (Artocarpus champeden) fruit. This ancestral fermentation technique, passed down through generations, is known to produce lactic acid bacteria (LAB) with potential probiotic properties. This study aimed to characterize LAB isolated from mandai vinegar and evaluate their antibacterial activity under two distinct fermentation conditions: a defined starter culture of Lactobacillus casei strain Shirota and spontaneous fermentation in a 10% NaCl solution. The latter, referred to as salt fermentation, yielded three bacterial colonies, while the starter culture method produced four. All isolates from both methods shared similar morphological characteristics, including a rod shape, white coloration, entire margins, and convex surfaces. Further analysis confirmed they were Gram-positive, catalase-negative, and indole-negative, with the ability to ferment various carbohydrates. While all LAB isolates demonstrated generally low antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli ATCC 25922, isolate CML 1 exhibited the highest antibacterial potential. These findings highlight the potential of mandai vinegar as a source of functional LAB, warranting further investigation into its applications as a functional food ingredient.
