Abstract

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the application of problem-based learning to improve student learning outcomes in the subject of Basic Competencies for Maintaining Brake Systems at SMK Negeri 2 Kupang. This study used a 2x2 factorial research design with experimental methods with a quantitative approach, consisting of two classes: the experimental and control classes. The control class is taught using a direct learning model, and the experimental class is taught using a problem-based learning model. The research sample was 70 students, 36 students from TKR 2 class (experiment class), and 34 students from class XI TKR 3 (control class). The instrument used consisted of a questionnaire of analytical skills, a test of learning outcomes in the cognitive domain, affective domain, and psychomotor domain. This study's results indicate that (1) student learning outcomes using problem-based learning models are significantly higher than learning outcomes for students who use the direct learning model; (2)  the learning outcomes of students who have high analytical skills are significantly higher than the learning outcomes of students who have low analytical skills; and (3) there is an interaction between the use of problem-based learning models and direct learning models on learning outcomes in the basic competency subject of the brake system at SMKN 2 Kupang.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of project-based learning on student learning outcomes and creative thinking skills in computer numeric control subjects at SMK KAL-1 Surabaya. This study used a quasi-experimental factorial research design with a 2-way ANOVA test technique. In this study, 66 students from class XI of the Mechanical Engineering Expertise Program were divided into experimental groups (n= 33) and a control group (n= 33). The instrument used in this research is in the form of test sheets and observations to measure the level of students creative thinking and their learning outcomes. This study found that student learning outcomes using project-based learning are significantly higher than students who taught using direct learning models in computer numeric control subjects. Furthermore, the learning outcomes of students who have a high level of creative thinking are significantly higher than those of students who have a low level of creative thinking. Moreover, there is an interaction between using learning models and creative thinking on three domains of learning outcomes (cognitive, affective, and psychomotor) in computer numeric control subjects.

Abstract

Decision Support Systems (DSS) increasingly utilize Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) methods to address complex decision problems involving multiple and often conflicting criteria. Among these methods, the AHP–TOPSIS hybrid approach has gained significant attention due to its ability to combine structured criteria weighting with objective alternative ranking. However, existing studies are generally fragmented and domain-specific, limiting a comprehensive understanding of its application trends and methodological patterns. This study aims to provide a systematic synthesis of AHP–TOPSIS applications in DSS through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR). The review follows PRISMA guidelines and analyzes 20 journal articles published between 2014 and 2025, sourced from Google Scholar, Garuda, and SINTA databases, with limited support from Scopus-indexed references. The results show a notable increase in publications after 2020, indicating the growing importance of data-driven and transparent decision-making in the context of Industry 4.0 and 5.0. The majority of studies focus on selection and ranking problems, particularly in education, human resource management, and industrial applications. A consistent methodological pattern is observed, where AHP is used for determining criteria weights and TOPSIS is applied for ranking alternatives. This study contributes by providing a cross-domain perspective on the use of AHP–TOPSIS, highlighting its methodological consistency, adaptability, and practical relevance. The findings also suggest opportunities for future research, particularly in integrating AHP–TOPSIS with advanced approaches such as fuzzy logic and intelligent systems to address uncertainty and dynamic decision environments

Abstract

Objective: To develop a learning device for an Internet of Things (IoT)-based Right-Left Rotating Induction Motor Control Trainer equipped with Student Worksheets (LKM) to improve critical thinking skills, creativity, and student learning outcomes. Method: The research method used the ADDIE model development research. The testing or evaluation process is carried out a validity test, a student response test, and an effectiveness test. Data analysis techniques using descriptive statistics, N-Gain test, and Paired Samples Test. Results:  The results show that the Internet of Things (IoT)-based Right-Left Rotating Induction Motor Control Trainer equipped with Student Worksheets is highly valid based on expert validation results, highly practical based on student responses, and highly effective in terms of improving critical thinking, creativity, and student learning outcomes. Therefore, the resulting trainer is highly suitable for use in electrical machinery lectures. Novelty: The novelty of this research lies in the integration of an IoT-based Right-Left Rotating Induction Motor Control Trainer with Student Worksheets and learning outcome measurements covering cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains. This study highlights how technology-based learning innovation supports SDG 4 by promoting quality education, competency development, and improved learning experiences.
