Abstract

Abstract : This research is a class action research that aims to improve the learning process and to increase the outcomes of mathematics learning of the students by applying learning cycle 5E. The subjects of this research are the students of class  SMPN 25 Pekanbaru at the second semester of academic years 2017/2018 which total number of participants are 35 students, consists of 20 male students and 15 female students with heterogeneous academic achievements. This research has two cycles. Each of them has four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The data collecting instruments consist observation sheet (learning process) and the students' worksheet. Learning device used in this research consists of Syllabus, Lesson plan, and Student work sheet. The data were analized by narrative descriptive and statistical descriptive analysis. The data were obtained from the observation sheets of teacher and students activities that showed the learning process has improved after the model being implemented. From the data of the student’s evaluation test, it showed that the number of students who reach with Minimal Score of Criteria is 75, increased from the basic score to the Quiz I, from Quiz I to Quiz II. In addition, the percentage of students who achieved KKM from basic score to quiz I increased by 14,29% and from quiz I to quiz II increased by 25,71%. In conclusion, the implementation of discovery learning model can improve the learning process and increase the outcomes of mathematics learning of the students of grade  SMPN 25 Pekanbaru at the second semester of academic years 2017/2018  on rectangular and triangular materials.  Key Words : The outcomes of mathematics learning, Learning Cycle 5E, class action research

Abstract

Abstract This research aims to improve learning process and mathematics learning outcomes in SMA Negeri 2 Tambang by implementing Quiz Team strategy in cooperative learning model. Subjects of the research were students grade XI IPA 1 who have the academic ability of the heterogeneous. This research is a classroom action research with two cycles. Each cycle has four stages, the stages are planning, action, observation and reflection. The results showed the activity of teachers and students have done well after doing the action. An increase in the number of students who achieved at UH KKM end of each cycle compared to the number of students who achieve KKM on base score, increasing the number of students who scored 20 and 30 compared to the development of the number of students who received grades 5 and 10 as well as the increase in the average value of students from the first cycle to the second cycle. Results of this research indicate that the application of Quiz Team strategy in cooperative learning model can improve learning process and the mathematics learning outcomes of students grade XI IPA 1 SMA Negeri 2 Tambang in the first semester academic year 2013/2014. Key words: Learning process, Mathematics learning outcome, Cooperative learning, Quiz Team Strategy, Classroom action research.

Abstract

Abstract: This research is classroom action research that aims to improve learning process and to increase student mathematics achievement with applied the learning model of Problem Based Learning. The subject of this research was student of class X.1 Farmasi SMK Kesehatan Pro-Skill Indonesia Pekanbaru in second academic years 2017/2018, which are 30 students, consist of four boys and 26 girls. The research consist of two cycles, each cycle has four stages, which are planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The instruments of data collection in this research is observation sheets and students mathematic tests. The observation sheets was analyzed by narrative descriptive analysis technique, and the students mathematic tests was analyzed by descriptive statistical analysis technique. The qualitative descriptive showed an improvement of learning process prior to the action on the first and second cycle. Most of students were very confidenced and actived in learning process. The results of this study indicate the number of students who reached Minimum Mastery Criteria increase from basic score to UH-I and UH-II. The results of this research showed an increasing number of students learning mathematics about knowledge of the basic score (26,67%) to the first UH-I (56,67%) to the UH-II (93,33%) thus it can be concluded that the implementation of Problem Based Learning model can improve learning process and increase mathematics achievement from the students at class X.I Farmasi SMK Kesehatan Pro-Skill Indonesia Pekanbaru in second academic years 2017/2018 for the linear program.Key Words: Students’ Mathematic Achievement, Problem Based Learning, Class Action Research

Abstract

AbstractThis research is classroom action research that aims to improve mathematics learning outcomes by applying Quiz Team strategy in cooperative learning. The subjects were students of class XI Ak3 SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Pekanbaru in the semester of the school year 2013/2014. The number of students in class XI Ak3 are 38 people consist of four boys and 34 girls with heterogeneous levels of academic ability. The research consist of two cycles. Each cycle has four stages, the stages are planning, implementation, observation and reflection. Each end of the cycle done tests. Data collected through observation and achievement tests. Data were analyzed by descriptive narrative analysis and descriptive statistical analysis. Criteria for success of the action is successful if the quality of the learning process increase and number of students who achieve a minimum completeness criteria increase on the tests I and II. The percentage of students who achieve a minimum completeness criteria before action, the tests I and II respective 21.05%, 31.58%, and 57.89%. Percentage achievement of the minimum completeness criteria indicate that the implementation of the strategy Quiz Team in cooperative learning can improve mathematics learning outcomes of students in class XI Ak3 SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Pekanbaru.Key words: Classroom action research, Mathematics learning outcome, Cooperative learning, Quiz Team strategy

Abstract

Abstract:This research is a development research that aims to produce learning tools, namely syllabus, lesson plans and student activity sheets (LAS) using the Problem Based Learning model with an open ended approach on the material of the Three Variable Linear Equation System for class X SMA/MA. This research is motivated by the importance of learning tools so that the arrangement is carried out as a form of planning from the steps of the learning process which are structured according to the objectives to be achieved. The development model used is the 4D model which consists of the stages of define, design, develop, and disseminate. The instruments used in this study were validation sheets and student response questionnaires. The learning tools that have been developed are validated by three validators and revised according to the validator's suggestions. The average validation score for the syllabus was 90.69%, RPP was 95.89%, and LAS was 93.23% with very valid categories. The results of this validation indicate that the syllabus, lesson plans, and LAS are feasible to be tested. The valid LAS was then tried out in small groups. The average result of the small group trial for LAS was 3.56 in the very practical category. Based on data analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that the syllabus, lesson plans and LAS developed using the Problem Based Learning model with the Open Ended approach in the material of the Three Variable Linear Equation System for class X SMA/MA have met the valid and practical criteria.Keywords : Learning Tools, Problem Based Learning Model, Open Ended Approach, ThreeVariable Linear Equation System, 4D Development Model.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh terbatasnya perangkat pembelajaran matematika yang sesuai dengan Kurikulum 2013. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menghasilkan produk berupa perangkat pembelajaran dengan penerapan model problem based learning (pbl) pada materi Program Linear kelas XI. Model pengembangan yang digunakan adalah model 4-D yang terdiri dari empat tahap pengembangan yaitu define (pendefenisian), design (perancangan), develop (pengembangan), disseminate (penyebaran). Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah instrumen validitas dan instrumen praktikalitas. Instrumen validitas berupa lembar validasi untuk menilai kelayakan perangkat pembelajaran berupa silabus, RPP, dan LAS. Instrumen praktikalitas berupa angket respon siswa terhadap penggunakan LAS. Perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan divalidasi oleh tiga validator.Uji coba terbatas dilakukan terhadap 6 orang siswa kelas XI SMAN 1 Pekanbaru. Hasil analisis data kevalidan diperoleh nilai rata-rata untuk silabus, RPP, dan LAS berturut-turut 3,57; 3,68; 3,56 dalam kategori sangat valid. Hasil analisis data kepraktisan LAS terbatas adalah 3,35 dengan kategori sangat praktis. Penelitian pengembangan ini menghasilkan produk berupa perangkat pembelajaran matematika dengan menerapkan model PBL pada materi Program Linear kelas XI yang meliputi Silabus, RPP yang valid dan LAS yang valid dan praktis.
