Implementation of Multicultural Education in an effort to Develop the Tasamuh Attitude of Santri at Islamic Boarding Schools in Central Lampung Regency Alwi Hasan; Mispani Mispani; Siti Roudhotul Jannah

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools in Central Lampung Regency have students consisting of various ethnic groups, such as Javanese, Sundanese, Lampung, Padang , and Palembang. This reality can cause problems if the educational process is carried out in a discriminatory way against one particular tribe. The purpose of this study was to determine the materials and methods of education as well as the implementation of multicultural education in an effort to develop the tasamuh attitude of students in Islamic boarding schools in Central Lampung Regency. This research is a qualitative field research (field research) conducted in Islamic boarding schools in Central Lampung. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that multicultural education at the Walisongo, Roudhotusholihin, and Al-Hidayah Islamic Boarding Schools is carried out in the form of placing students from different ethnic, cultural, and economic backgrounds in the same dormitory. These conditions allow students to understand cultural and linguistic differences, and encourage a sense of togetherness and acceptance of other students. Multicultural-based subject matter at the Walisongo, Roudhotusholihin and Al-Hidayah Islamic Boarding Schools can be seen from the material on ahlussunnah wal jama'ah (Aswaja), which emphasizes the attitude of tawasuth (moderate), i`tidal (proportionate), tasamuh (tolerant), and tawazun (balanced). Social interactions at the Islamic boarding schools of Walisongo, Roudhotusholihin and Al-Hidayah describe a pluralistic community, which is based on the values ​​of morality.

Abstract

This article focused on discussing Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) and Lower Order Thinking Skills (LOTS) on the UM-PTKIN (Ujian Masuk Perguruan Tinggi Keagamaan Islam Negeri) Islamic Religious Education Material. It is case prospective students in higher education must be able to think at a higher level (High Order Thinking Skills, HOTS) such as analytical skills, evaluation skills and material creation skills. The method used Prisma Protocl namely identification, screening, eligibility, and inclusion (Alias et al., 2018). Therefore, the provision of college entrance examination tests is an important element in selecting prospective students. The results of this study indicate that the items for the UM-PTKIN PAI material are in the HOTS category and low oeder thinking skills (LOTS). The material for Akidah Akhlak became the largest contributor and Al-Quran Hadith as the least contributor to the HOTS category questions. The Islamic Religious Education Study Program (PAI) is a study program that is in great demand and its graduates are highly anticipated to be able to sow an understanding of Islam to answer various social, political, and religious challenges in Indonesia. This article provides recommendations for UM-PTKIN policy makers to be able to increase the number of compositions of HOTS questions in subsequent selections in order to improve the quality of PAI student input in the following periods. Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of mutual assistance character education and social care for the community in the construction of the Nurul Hidayah mosque in Purwosari Village, Metro North Subdistrict, Metro City. The data source of this research is the resource person or informant and some literature related to the subject matter of the discussion. The data collection technique uses observation, documentation and interview instruments. While the data analysis techniques use interactive models through the process of collecting data, reducing data, presenting data and drawing conclusions. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that the implementation of mutual cooperation character education and social care for the construction of Nurul Hidayah prayer room in Purwosari Village Metro Metro Subdistrict, Metro City, based on mutual cooperation indicators shows that people have good willingness to cooperate and are not selfish. Whereas based on social care indicators show that the community in devotional work can treat other people politely and politely, want to listen to others and not demean others.
