Abstract

Abstract: This article aims to analyze language errors in outdoor media in Pekanbaru City. There are still many errors in the writing of outdoor media so that it is a special concern for researchers to conduct this research. This research was conducted in a qualitative descriptive manner with the collection of observational data and documentation. Open data sources in the form of outdoor media in Pekanbaru City. The results showed that there were errors in writing punctuation marks, writing capital letters, writing level numbers, writing prepositions or prepositions, writing abbreviations, and titles.Keywords: language errors, outdoor media, pekanbaru city

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to describe the content of meaning contained in the lyrics of the song Randai Rantau Kuantan. This study uses a qualitative research design with descriptive research type. The technique of collecting data for this research is downloading, listening and taking notes. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The data analysis technique for this research is content analysis as follows: (1) Downloading videos from YouTube (2) Listening to song lyrics carefully (3) Translating into written form (4) Finding romance in song lyrics (5) Analyzing data according to theory (6) Summarizing data. The research data source is from the YouTube fada music record and the latest viral 2019. The results of this study indicate that the songs randai rantau kuantan Olang Binti and Sayang Den Du belong to Romanticism in the form of natural, emotional and romantic images.Keywords: Romanticism, Randai rantau kuantan, Literature.

Abstract

The cultural heritage of the Malay community encompasses various significant aspects that reflect its richness, values, and identity, from social systems to festivals celebrating tradition. The Malay community is known for its egalitarian approach, evident in their language, social interactions, and open markets where nobles and commoners could mingle freely. Traditional arts and crafts, performing arts, and cuisine showcase the unique and rich cultural heritage passed down through generations. Pulau Penyengat, as a cultural and historical symbol, holds deep historical significance with landmarks like the Sultan Riau Grand Mosque and literary works by Raja Ali Haji, demonstrating its role in the spread of religion and culture. Events such as the Malay Cultural Festival and the Lampu Colok Festival play crucial roles in strengthening social bonds and introducing Malay culture to a wider audience. Preserving these elements is essential not only to maintain identity but also to inspire future generations to continue the traditions and noble values of the nation.

Abstract

The tradition of eating badulang is an important part of the culture of the people of Kampar Regency, especially in Kuok District, Riau Province. This activity involves a group of people together enjoying a meal served on a dulang (large container), as a symbol of togetherness and kinship. This article aims to explore the meaning, process and changes in the implementation of the tradition of eating badulang at Rumah Lontiok, a traditional house that has high historical and cultural value. The method used in writing this article is literature analysis. The results of the analysis show that the tradition of eating badulang is not only a social activity, but also a means of preserving local cultural values, strengthening social relations between residents, and creating a sense of togetherness in society. However, as time goes by, this tradition faces challenges in maintaining its sustainability amidst the current of modernization.

Abstract

Using the example of Lontiok's house on Belimbing Island, this article discusses the philosophy and meaning of "Silat Perisai" in welcoming Riau Malay guests. In Riau Malay tradition, welcoming guests is a form of respect that has cultural value and symbolism that is more than just a social formality. Silat Perisai, a traditional martial art, has philosophical meanings such as balance, protection and respect for guests besides functioning as physical exercise. This article explains how each movement in "Silat Shield" illustrates the principles of life respected by Malay society and its role in maintaining the honor and dignity of the community. Through the example of how the Lontiok Pulau Belimbing house welcomes guests, this article emphasizes the importance of "Silat Perisai" in building relationships and preserving Silat Perisai" to strengthen community relations and maintain Riau Malay cultural values. Silat shield in the life of Malay society. Silat, which is a martial arts style, is also a tradition that has close ties to the values ​​of community life. Silat itself is a reflection of the cultural values ​​of the area. Silat shield is a symbol of struggle and courage as well as a symbol of protection from all dangers. The fighters are taught skills in swordsmanship with the aim of having the skills to face threats from enemies who use similar weapons. Not only, perceived skills but also about personality. Some of the characteristics that are felt in Silat Shield are discipline and alertness. Not only that, but Silat Shield also emphasizes and prioritizes politeness, cleanliness and honesty. These values ​​are what continue to be maintained in the preservation of Silat Shield and of course this is not an easy thing.

Abstract

The preservation of Malay culture, particularly through the philosophy of the Lontiok house, plays a significant role in maintaining the cultural identity and traditional values of the community. The Lontiok house, as a symbol of Malay culture, serves not only as a dwelling but also reflects the community's close relationship with nature and spirituality. This study aims to explore how the philosophy of the Lontiok house is preserved in Pulau Belimbing Village through the cultural practices in the local community. The research employs a qualitative approach, focusing on an in-depth understanding of the cultural phenomena that exist in the village. Data were gathered through direct observation, interviews with local residents, and relevant literature review. The findings show that the preservation of the Lontiok house in Pulau Belimbing Village is carried out not only through the construction and maintenance of the traditional house but also through cultural education, traditional ceremonies, and the development of culture-based tourism. The study also reveals that the community plays an active role in preserving and passing on the philosophy contained in the Lontiok house to the younger generation, ensuring the continuity of Malay cultural heritage. It is hoped that the results of this study can contribute to the future preservation of Malay culture and introduce the uniqueness of local culture to the outside world.

Abstract

Indonesia has ethnoculinary diversity, one example of which is satay kuok and makan bedulang with the main side dishes being grilled fish kopiek dak betulang. This research aims to explore the role of traditional culinary delights, especially Sate Kuok and Makan Bedulang with the main side dish of grilled fish kopiek dak betulang, in strengthening the cultural identity of the Kampar community. Using participatory observation methods, this research analyzes the social and cultural values contained in these two dishes. The research results show that Sate Kuok not only functions as food, but also as a symbol of togetherness and social interaction in society. Order codes used in buying and selling transactions reflect local wisdom and strengthen relationships between community members. This research emphasizes the importance of preserving traditional culinary delights as part of cultural identity in the modern era. It is hoped that the results of this research can provide new insights into the relationship between culinary and cultural identity as well as contribute to the preservation of local cultural heritage.

Abstract

This article discusses the development of Digital Learning media based on Malay rhymes for high school students (SMA) with the aim of improving the competence of literary appreciation. The research was conducted using research and Development (R & D) with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, and literature appreciation tests given to students before and after using digital learning media. The results showed that digital learning media Malay poem was able to improve students' understanding of the structure, meaning, and cultural values in the poem. In addition, this media makes it easier for teachers to present literary material in an interactive and interesting way, thereby increasing student learning motivation. The integration of digital media in learning also facilitates students in exploring literature more creatively. This finding confirms that the integration of digital technology in traditional literary learning can support the improvement of cultural literacy competence and literary appreciation in high school students. This innovation opens up new possibilities for engaging students with their cultural heritage in a digital era, encouraging a deeper understanding and connection with traditional arts.
