Abstract

This study aims to determine the quality of coal on the mining front and ship loading. The method used consists of literature study, sample collection and processing and data analysis using proximate analysis. The results of the analysis on the mining front obtained ash content 2.8%, total moisture 13.12%, volatile matter 39%, total sulfur 0.23%, fixed carbon 48%, calorie value 5.812 Kcal/Kg. On ship loading obtained ash content 3.89%, total moisture 14.15%, volatile matter 43.04%, fixed carbon 46%, total sulfur 0.25%, and calorie value 5.365 Kcal/Kg. The very different calorific value of 7.69% is influenced by changes in the total water content and ash content. This indicates a significant decline in coal quality.

Abstract

Water issues are always interesting to be discussed further, because water is one of the main basic needs for humans. This community service activity aims to: (1) Provide information to the community regarding the availability of groundwater potential zones; (2) Provide recommendations for the depth of groundwater drilling. This activity is motivated by the fact that most people in Bone Regency, South Sulawesi Province still rely on shallow groundwater (dug wells) to meet their clean water needs. The method used is the geoelectric method where data is taken directly in the field, from the measurement data then an analysis is carried out to determine the presence of groundwater potential zones in Batulappa Village, Patimpeng District, Bone Regency.

Abstract

Kota Baubau terletak di bagian barat daya Pulau Buton. Perkembangan dan pembangunan fisik serta ekonomi wilayahnya saat ini lebih terpusat pada bentangalam karst yang termasuk dalam Formasi Wapulaka karena lokasinya yang strategis. Namun, pembangunan di wilayah ini belum ditunjang dengan pemahaman yang memadai mengenai karakteristik karst itu sendiri. Pembentukan bentangalam karst dengan berbagai model morfologinya sangat dipengaruhi oleh aktifitas tektonik dan pelarutan. Pelarutan dapat membentuk rongga, meningkatkan porositas dan melemahkan batuan serta menyebabkan penurunan daya dukung lingkungan. Penelitian mengenai karakteristik karst diperlukan dalam pertimbangan penentuan arah pembangunan wilayah kota. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode observasi lapangan dalam pengumpulan data morfologi permukaan dan bawah permukaan untuk menentukan tipe kelas karst, selanjutnya dikorelasikan dengan kelurusan topografi yang diidentifikasi dari peta SRTM, data sekunder berupa geologi regional dan hasil penelitian terdahulu, untuk membantu memahami peran tektonik dalam pembentukan morfologi karst tersebut. Perkembangan fitur karst permukaan dan bawah permukaan menunjukkan bahwa karst di wilayah ini termasuk kelas karst kompleks. Analisis kelurusan topografi  menunjukkan dua periode deformasi yang berpengaruh pada orientasi morfologi karst. Korelasi data morfologi, kelurusan topografi, arah bukaan gua dan penelitian terdahulu mengindikasikan bahwa aktifitas tektonik sangat berpengaruh dalam pembentukan dan orientasi morfologi karst termasuk arah bukaan gua di bawah permukaan.

Abstract

This community service aims to provide information to the village government and the community regarding the availability of groundwater potential zones and provide recommendations for groundwater drilling depths. This activity is motivated by the fact that most of the people in Bone Regency, South Sulawesi Province, especially in Maddanreng Pulu Village, still rely on shallow groundwater (dug wells) to meet their clean water needs. The method used is the geoelectric method where data is taken directly in the field, the data from the measurements in the field are then analyzed to determine the groundwater potential zone which is the target for drilling in Maddanreng Pulu Village, Patimpeng District, Bone Regency. The geoelectrical measurement results obtained a resistivity value of 15.8 ohm.m as a layer that has the potential as an aquifer layer, the thickness of this layer reaches 161 meters starting from a depth of 13.3 to 174 meters.

Abstract

Resource estimation plays a significant role in determining the quantity and quality of a deposit. In nickel laterite mining, estimation is needed to be able to calculate resources before the mining process takes place. This research was conducted to determine the nickel laterite resources at PT Genba Multi Mineral. In this research, the determination of nickel laterite resource estimation using the Inverse Distance Weighting (IDW) method. Based on the estimation of nickel laterite resources using the IDW method. The estimation of nickel laterite resources was carried out in the saprolite zone with the Cut of Grade (COG) used, namely Ni content ≥ 1.6% with a density of 1.5 tons/m3 obtained a resource tonnage of 233,738 tons with an average Ni content of 1.81%.
