Abstract

Abstract. Public diplomacy plays a key role in international relations by involving individuals and non-governmental organizations in building a nation’s reputation. One important form of public diplomacy is cultural diplomacy, which uses cultural presentations to introduce a country's values and identity. The Global Village program by AIESEC provides a platform for youth to engage in cultural diplomacy through international cultural exchange and presentations. This study aims to describe the techniques of cultural presentation in the Global Village program as a tool of cultural diplomacy and explore how these techniques help improve participants’ cross-cultural communication skills and foster international relations. Using a case study method, this research examines the stages of preparation, methods of delivery, and the impact of cultural presentations on participants’ intercultural awareness. The findings are expected to enrich the discourse on intercultural communication and public diplomacy, as well as guide academics, practitioners, and youth organizations in creating more impactful cultural engagement programs. Practically, this study highlights the importance of managing cultural presentation techniques to support cultural diplomacy efforts. For AIESEC, the results can serve as an evaluation and development tool to strengthen the Global Village program, empowering youth to be more effective agents of cultural diplomacy on a global stage. Abstrak. Diplomasi publik memainkan peran penting dalam hubungan internasional dengan melibatkan individu dan organisasi non-pemerintah dalam membangun reputasi bangsa. Salah satu bentuknya adalah diplomasi budaya, di mana presentasi budaya digunakan sebagai sarana untuk memperkenalkan nilai dan identitas suatu negara. Program Global Village AIESEC menjadi wadah bagi pemuda untuk melakukan diplomasi budaya melalui interaksi lintas budaya dan presentasi budaya di tingkat internasional. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan potret proses teknik presentasi budaya dalam program Global Village sebagai sarana diplomasi budaya, serta mengeksplorasi bagaimana peran teknik presentasi budaya dalam program ini membantu peserta meningkatkan keterampilan komunikasi lintas budaya dan memperkuat hubungan internasional. Menggunakan metode studi kasus, penelitian ini menelusuri tahapan persiapan, teknik penyampaian, hingga dampak presentasi budaya terhadap pemahaman antarbudaya peserta. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan memberikan kontribusi bagi literatur komunikasi antarbudaya dan diplomasi publik, serta menjadi referensi bagi akademisi, praktisi, dan organisasi kepemudaan dalam merancang program pengenalan budaya yang lebih baik. Secara praktis, penelitian ini menyoroti pentingnya pengelolaan teknik presentasi budaya dalam mendukung diplomasi budaya sebagai bagian dari diplomasi publik. Bagi AIESEC, temuan ini dapat digunakan untuk mengevaluasi dan mengembangkan program Global Village agar lebih optimal dalam memperkuat peran pemuda sebagai agen diplomasi budaya di tingkat global.

Abstract

Abstract. Education plays a crucial role in shaping students' character and moral values. One of the key aspects of successful education is instructional communication, a process in which educators deliver material to students to ensure optimal understanding. In the context of Islamic religious education, instructional communication serves as the primary means of instilling Islamic values in students. This study examines how instructional communication contributes to students' comprehension and application of Islamic values in their daily lives. Using a quantitative descriptive approach, this research explores the communication strategies employed by teachers, the challenges faced, and the effectiveness of the methods used. The findings indicate that adaptive and participatory communication enhances students' understanding of Islamic values and encourages their application in real-life situations. This study provides insights into the importance of effective instructional communication in education, particularly in the teaching of Islamic values. Abstrak. Pendidikan memiliki kompetensi penting dalam membentuk karakter dan nilai-nilai moral peserta didik. Salah satu aspek yang kompetensi dalam keberhasilan pendidikan adalah komunikasi instruksional, yaitu proses penyampaian materi oleh pendidik kepada peserta didik dengan tujuan memberikan pemahaman yang optimal. Dalam konteks pendidikan agama Islam, komunikasi instruksional menjadi sarana utama dalam menanamkan nilai-nilai Islam kepada siswa. Penelitian ini mengkaji bagaimana komunikasi instruksional dapat berkontribusi dalam membentuk pemahaman dan penerapan nilai-nilai Islam dalam kehidupan sehari-hari siswa. Dengan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif, penelitian ini menggambarkan strategi komunikasi yang diterapkan oleh guru, hambatan yang dihadapi, serta efektivitas metode yang digunakan. Hasil penelitian dapat menunjukkan bahwa komunikasi yang dilakukan secara adaptif dan partisipatif mampu meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap nilai-nilai Islam serta mendorong penerapan nilai-nilai tersebut dalam kehidupan mereka. Studi ini memberikan wawasan bagi dunia pendidikan tentang pentingnya komunikasi instruksional yang efektif dalam proses pembelajaran, khususnya dalam pendidikan agama Islam.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the challenges society faced in filtering valid information in the digital era, especially among young people. The YouTube channel @gurugembul played an important role in improving media literacy through the delivery of interactive educational content. The purpose of this study was to analyze how the @gurugembul YouTube channel delivered educational information using an interactive virtual communication approach. The method used was a qualitative approach with a case study design, which involved interviews with content creators and document analysis of the videos produced. The findings showed that the @gurugembul YouTube channel successfully selected relevant topics and presented them in a relaxed and easily understandable communication style, which encouraged active audience participation. The study concluded that interactive and educational communication approaches enhanced the audience's understanding of important social issues. This research contributed to the field of education by providing insights into the use of digital platforms in the learning process and effective communication strategies to improve media literacy among young people. Recommendations for further research were also made, focusing on the long-term impact of audience interaction with educational content.
