Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas representasi zainichi Korea dalam novel Pachinko karya Min Jin Lee. Terdapat beberapa kategori dari zainichi Korea dalam masyarakat Jepang, yaitu pluralis, nasionalis, individualis, dan asimilasionis. Generasi pertama dalam novel ini mendapatkan perlakuan tidak setara akibat etnis mereka yang menyebabkan mereka harus hidup di kawasan kumuh. Generasi kedua direpresentasikan oleh dua tokoh yang saling berkebalikan. Tokoh Noa memiliki keinginan untuk menjadi seorang “Jepang” yang pada akhirnya memilih jalan naturalisasi. Melalui jalan naturalisasi tokoh ini dapat dianggap sebagai seorang asimilasionis yang meninggalkan identitas etnisnya dan hidup sebagai seorang warga Jepang untuk mendapatkan status sosial yang setara. Tokoh Mozasu memiliki kecenderungan berkebalikan dengan Noa karena ia tidak memilih jalan naturalisasi dan tetap mempertahankan identitas aslinya sebagai orang Korea. Generasi ketiga masih mendapat ketidakpastian identitas meskipun mereka lahir dan besar di Jepang. Dengan pendidikan yang Solomon dapatkan, ia masih tetap dipandang sebelah mata dan masih dianggap tidak berada di posisi yang setara dengan orang Jepang. Bisnis pachinko yang selalu diasosiasikan dengan pendatang Korea adalah bisnis, yang ditekuni oleh masing-masing tokoh generasi kedua bahkan ketiga, menunjukkan bahwa status zainichi Korea tidak akan semudah itu berubah dan mereka akan tetap berada dalam posisi marjinal yang dipandang sebelah mata. Kata kunci: pachinko, zainichi, krisis identitas, Korea, Jepang This study discusses the representation of Korean zainichi in Pachinko novel by Min Jin Lee. There are several categories of Korean zainichi amongst Japanese society, which are pluralist, nationalist, individualist, and assimilationist. The first generation in this novel is treated unfairly because of their ethnicity which makes them live in slum area. The second generation is represented by two contradictive characters. The first character, Noa, wants to be Japanese, which leads him to choose the path of naturalization. Through naturalization, this character is regarded as an assimilationist who ignores his ethnic identity and lives as a Japanese citizen to obtain equal social status. Meanwhile, the second character, Mozasu has the opposite tendency of Noa’s. He does not choose the path of naturalization and tends to maintain his true identity as a Korean. The third generation is left uncertain about their identity, although they were born and grow up in Japan. With his background education, Solomon as a third-generation is still underestimated and considered unequal to Japanese people. The pachinko business, which is always being associated with Korean migrants, is a business occupied by each of the second and third generation characters, showing that the status of Korean zainichi will not change easily, and they will remain in marginal position and being underestimated. Keywords: pachinko, zainichi, identitiy crisis, Korea, Japan

Abstract

Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) questions based on mathematical literacy are a form of questions that are still rarely found in learning in schools. This study has the aim of developing a HOTS assessment instrument based on mathematical literacy in SPLDV material. The research method uses the type of Research and Development (R&D). This study uses the characteristics of an assessment instrument to determine the ability of students in solving HOTS skills questions based on mathematical literacy, and involves students of class VIII D as the research population of 14 students. Data collection techniques include (1) preparation of instruments (2) determining instrument validity, (3) revising validator instruments, (4) applying research instruments through trials, (5) obtaining HOTS test results based on students' mathematical literacy, (6) revising instrument. The results of the validator test on the aspects of material, construction, and language are included in the very feasible category with the acquisition of a mean score of 0.94, 0.75, 0.96, and 0.96. The results of the student response questionnaire obtained quite agree about the statements related to the HOTS SPLDV questions based on mathematical literacy. The average results of the assessment development show the medium category. Based on the results of the study indicate that the development of the assessment instrument is categorized as very feasible for learning. Following up on the research results, the development of the HOTS question instrument based on mathematical literacy contributes to students in the application of contextual life

Abstract

This study aims to describe the statistical literacy skills of students and to understand the difficulties they encounter in solving problems related to statistical concepts. The research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The subjects of this study are 23 fifth-grade students at SDN 01 Wonokeling, Jatiyoso, Karanganyar. Data collection was carried out using a statistical literacy skills test instrument, covering statistical material. The study reveals that the percentage of students' statistical literacy skills is still low in each indicator. Students' ability to interpret data has the highest percentage at 65%, while their ability to present data has the lowest percentage at 47%. Many students still do not fully understand statistical concepts, which hinders their ability to present data and draw accurate statistical conclusions.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of teaching styles and the provision of rewards and punishments on students' interest in learning Civics in the fifth grade of MI Muhammadiyah Karanganyar. This is a quantitative study. The researcher uses a quantitative approach with regression. The data analysis technique employs statistical formulas, namely simple linear regression and multiple regression. The sampling technique used in this study is saturated sampling. The data collection techniques include questionnaires and documentation. The results of the analysis conclude that teaching styles and the provision of rewards and punishments significantly positively influence students' interest in learning Civics in the fifth grade of MI Muhammadiyah Karanganyar. Teaching styles have a greater influence compared to rewards and punishments, but both significantly contribute to increasing students' interest in learning. The regression model used in this study is quite strong in explaining the variation in students' interest in learning, with 64% of the variation explained by teaching styles and the provision of rewards and punishments.

Abstract

The results of learning Indonesian in the speaking aspect are still low. The aim of this research is to determine the influence of the role playing method on the results of learning Indonesian drama material in class V elementary school students. This research was conducted using a comparative quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design. The sample in this study involved two classes, namely the VA SD N 04 Karangsari, Jatiyoso, Karanganyar class with 25 students as the experimental class and the VB class with 25 students as the control class. Data was collected using observation, tests, documentation and questionnaire techniques. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques and hypothesis testing using the t-test. The results of the research show that the average post-test score is 88.4 and after testing the t statistic on the post-test t data, it is obtained that t count > t table, namely 4.341 > 2.011 (n = 25) with a significance level of 0.05 or 5% which is stated accepting Ha and rejecting Ho. This means that in the experimental class, the role playing method had a significant effect on the students' learning outcomes in Indonesian drama material.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the utilisation of visual media in improving grade V students' understanding of data and graph presentation material at SD Negeri Gurawan. The low results of the National Assessment (AN) and the review of PISA show the weak literacy and numeracy skills of Indonesian students. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects consisted of grade V teachers and students as primary data sources, while scientific references and journals were used as secondary data. The results showed that the use of visual media such as pictures and illustrations, coloured diagrams, concrete props, as well as digital media such as Canva and animated videos was very effective in improving students' understanding of data presentation. The media helps students build connections between concrete experiences and abstract concepts, facilitate data classification, and foster interest and active participation in learning. The application of visual media is also proven to improve the ability to interpret graphs and encourage collaboration between students. These results reinforce Bruner's theory of the stages of learning and support the view that visual media can improve the effectiveness of the teaching-learning process. This study concludes that visual media is one of the strategic solutions in strengthening students' numeracy and advises teachers to integrate visual media into the teaching and learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to describe how fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 03 Jatiwarno, Jatipuro, Karanganyar solve statistics problems based on their mathematical connection abilities and to identify the learning difficulties they face. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, with ten student participants. Data were collected through essay tests and interviews to obtain an in-depth understanding of the mistakes and the factors causing learning difficulties. The results showed that students have varying levels of mathematical connection abilities, with most in the moderate category. The learning difficulties faced by students include errors in reading questions, understanding questions, transforming formulas, process skills, and writing conclusions. Factors influencing learning difficulties include teaching methods, classroom atmosphere, parental involvement, social environment, interest in mathematics, and laziness to study. This study also proposes several teaching strategies that can help students better understand and master statistical material, including contextual and relevant approaches, interactive learning, the use of visual media, and proper curriculum planning and organization. The implementation of these strategies is expected to enhance students' understanding of statistical material and their mathematical connection abilities, thereby minimizing learning difficulties and optimizing learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of the Make a Match learning model on the mathematics learning outcomes of sixth grade elementary school students in the context of presenting data in circle diagrams. The research design used was a control group pre-test and post-test design, with research subjects 28 grade VI elementary school students 01 Anggrasmanis, who were divided into an experimental group (n=14) and a control group (n= 14). The results showed that the experimental group had a pre-test average of 60.71 and a post-test of 80.64, with standard deviations of 8.49 and 6.14 respectively. Meanwhile, the control group had a pre-test average of 61.43 and a post-test of 71.79, with standard deviations of 7.89 and 6.68 respectively. The t test showed that there was no significant difference between the pre-test scores of the two groups (p=0.813), but there was a significant difference in the post-test scores (p=0.001). Gain score analysis shows a more significant increase in learning outcomes in the experimental group (0.51) compared to the control group (0.27). It can be concluded that the Make a Match learning model has a significant influence on improving mathematics learning outcomes, especially in mathematics learning, circle diagram data presentation material for sixth grade elementary school students.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the implementation of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model in teaching statistical concepts at the elementary school level to improve students' understanding and motivation. Using a descriptive qualitative approach and a case study method, this research involved sixth-grade students from SDN 03 Dayu Karangpandan, utilizing observation, interviews, and documentation as data collection techniques, analyzed thematically. The results show that PjBL successfully increased students' average scores from 65 to 85 and enhanced learning motivation through active engagement in surveys, data analysis, and project presentations. This method also promotes the development of 21st-century skills such as collaboration and critical thinking, despite challenges such as differences in student abilities and time constraints. In conclusion, PjBL is effective in improving the quality of statistical learning, provided that teacher guidance plays a crucial role in its success.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kesulitan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal-soal statistika. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan subjek penelitian siswa SD Negeri Nganti Gemolong berjumlah 28 orang. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui teknik dokumentasi berupa hasil pekerjaan siswa berdasarkan instrumen soal statistika dengan parameter kompetensi meliputi: 1) Menentukan modus, 2) Menentukan median dari data berjumlah ganjil, 3) Menentukan median dari data berjumlah genap, 4) Menghitung nilai rata-rata suatu data, 5) Menganalisis data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kesalahan siswa tergolong tinggi, terutama dalam menghitung rata-rata (57%) dan menganalisis data (82%). Rendahnya pemahaman konsep dasar statistika, kesulitan memodelkan masalah matematika, serta lemahnya kemampuan menarik kesimpulan menjadi faktor penyebab utama permasalahan tersebut.
