<![CDATA[Digital natives can be referred to as the google generation because most of their information needs are met through the internet and tend to do things by multitasking, working in a network, like interactive games, accessing information randomly, getting information quickly and accurately, and prefer online sources. Compared to sources in the library, this is also the case for digital natives at the Faculty of Ushuluddin Adab and Da'wah IAIN Kerinci. The purpose of this study is to describe the obstacles faced by the digital native in searching for information. The research was conducted using a qualitative descriptive approach to analyze information related to information retrieval conducted by digital natives and find the obstacles they face. The results of the study show that the obstacles faced by digital natives when searching for information are (1). Internet (personal factors) as follows: lack of mastery of information literacy such as the use of keywords, and how to access information; (2) external (external factors) the lack of understanding of students in formulating or analyzing the information needs they need so that they spend a lot of time searching for inappropriate information and this has an impact on the high cost of purchasing internet quota when searching for information.]]>

<![CDATA[Background of the study: In addition to being a medium of communication, social media is also used for promotion media for institutions that can cause dramatization processes. Mediatization at the Library aims to understand the role of social media such as Instagram as a promotional activity in the Library of Dispusip Kota Sungai Penuh. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to explain the mediatization of libraries through Instagram social media. Libraries use social media as a promotional medium to reach users during the pandemic. Method: This research is a study using a qualitative approach. The collection technique is carried out by observing directly the Instagram account owned by each library of Dispusip Kota Sungai Penuh. Findings: Dispusip Kota Sungai Penuh uses Instagram library to promote library collections, promote library activities and services, upload photos or photos of library activities, develop distribution services, especially book lending, activities within the library, etc. Instagram is a new method for the Library of Dispusip Kota Sungai Penuh Library in order to attract visitors or public leaders, especially the millennial generation. The change in the form of promotional media toward digital media can be in the form of information in visual and audiovisual form. Conclusion: The existence of Instagram affects the pattern of promotional behavior of the Dispusip Kota Sungai Penuh Library because it has been mediated by technology.]]>

<![CDATA[Background of the study: Social media has a huge impact on students' lives. Social media as a means to view and obtain information. This makes social networking sites very interesting sites and allows for a place to share and also a source of information Purpose: Analyze the role of social media as a means of disseminating academic information for students at the IAIN Kerinci. Method: This research is a type of qualitative research with a case study approach. Data management and data analysis include analyzing and investigating data, grouping data, selecting and classifying what will be processed, searching for and finding patterns. Findings: The impact of social media on users includes building social relationships, increasing interest in economic activities, providing a relaxing effect through entertainment functions, as a means of self-actualization. The role of social media is also very significant for IAIN Kerinci students, apart from being a source of academic information as well as a forum for academic support, learning and as a means of academic communication. Conclusion: The use of social media has become a large source of academic information for IAIN Kerinci students, but it has not yet been utilized significantly for the development of academic quality.]]>

<![CDATA[In the midst of today's increasingly sophisticated conditions, people's awareness of religious knowledge is increasingly decreasing. For this reason, there is a need for media that can be used as a medium for conveying da'wah messages. The rise in popularity of horror films nowadays can be used as a medium for preaching. However, debates often occur regarding the permissibility of watching horror films, which also leads to people's doubts about doing this. This research aims to find out horror films as an alternative medium for preaching and the law of watching horror films in Islam. This study uses a qualitative method. Qualitative methods are methods for interpreting a meaning. This research uses this analysis approach or content analysis with the type of library study research. The results of this research found that horror films can be used as a medium for Islamic da'wah because they are able to convey religious moral values. The law of watching horror films itself is actually not recommended because it can affect many things. However, it is permissible if the matter can have more positive impacts than negative impacts. [Abstrak: Di tengah kondisi zaman saat ini yang semakin canggih kesadaran umat tentang pengetahuan beragama pun semakin menurun. Untuk itu perlu adanya media-media yang dapat digunakan sebagai media penyampaian pesan dakwah. Naik daunnya film horror saat ini bisa dimanfaatkan sebagai salah satu media dakwah. Namun seringkali terjadi perdebatan mengenai kebolehan dalam menonton film horror juga menjadi keraguan umat dalam mengerjakan perkara tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui film horror sebagai alternatif media dakwah dan hukum menonton film horror dalam Islam. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif. Metode kualitatif adalah metode untuk menginterprestasi suatu makna. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan analisis ini atau analisis konten dengan jenis penelitian studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian ini menemukan bahwa film horror dapat dijadikan sebagai media dakwah Islam karena mampu mengantarkan nilai-nilai moral agama. Hukum menonton film horror sendiri sebenarnya adalah tidak disanrankan karena dapat mempengaruhi pada banyak hal. Namun di perbolehkan apabila perkara tersebut dapat memberikan lebih banyak dampak positif daripada dampak negatifnya.]]]>

<![CDATA[Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis manajemen perpustakaan dalam meningkatkan literasi informasi peserta didik di SMA N 2 Kerinci. Fokus utama penelitian meliputi perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan kendala yang dihadapi perpustakaan dalam proses tersebut. Perencanaan perpustakaan dirancang untuk mendukung kebutuhan kurikulum dan minat siswa, dengan pengadaan bahan pustaka yang relevan serta pengelompokan koleksi berdasarkan mata pelajaran. Pelaksanaan manajemen perpustakaan melibatkan pengelolaan sumber daya pustaka, penyediaan layanan sirkulasi, serta upaya mengintegrasikan perpustakaan dengan pembelajaran di kelas. Meskipun telah dilakukan upaya yang baik, Hasil penelitian ini menemukan beberapa kendala, seperti keterbatasan dana, kurangnya tenaga perpustakaan, serta rendahnya minat siswa dalam memanfaatkan perpustakaan. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan perlunya strategi inovatif, seperti promosi layanan dan program literasi yang lebih menarik, guna meningkatkan partisipasi siswa serta memaksimalkan fungsi perpustakaan sebagai pusat pembelajaran dan peningkatan literasi informasi.]]>

<![CDATA[The library is a place of literacy that offers various collections of books and information resources. This study aims to see the role of the Sungai Penuh City Library in improving the literacy of the village community of Sungai Penuh City. The method used is a case study with the selection of informants using purposive sampling techniques. The data analysis is used in three ways, namely: data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the role of the Sungai Penuh City Library in improving the literacy of the village community is: 1) Basic literacy: The Sungai Penuh City Library not only functions as a place to read and borrow books, but also as a center for developing basic literacy for children and an educational tourism destination for early childhood (PAUD / TK); 2) Reading Club: The Sungai Penuh City Library carries out training activities for village library managers to drive village reading corner activities; 3) Literacy training: The existence of the Social Inclusion-Based Library Transformation Program from the Sungai Penuh City Library is expected to provide village communities with opportunities to improve literacy and reading interest in the community; and 4) Collaboration with the community: The Sungai Penuh City Library Service previously collaborated with the Kincai Children's Volunteer Community to improve children's literacy in the Sungai Penuh City village.]]>

<![CDATA[Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yang dilaksanakan bertujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan penggunaan aplikasi perpustakaan digital iPusnas pada mahasiswa angkatan 2023 Program Studi Perpustakaan dan Sains Informasi Fakultas Ekonomi dan Ilmu Sosial Universitas Sari Mutiara. Permasalahan yang dihadapi adalah tingkat pengetahuan dan pemahaman mahasiswa terkait aplikasi iPusnas masih sangat rendah, padahal aplikasi tersebut bisa dimanfaatkan dalam kegiatan perkuliahan termasuk penyelesaian tugas akademik yang dimiliki. Metode yang digunakan adalah ceramah, tanya jawab dan pelatihan menggunakan aplikasi iPusnas. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah mahasiswa angkatan 2023 Program Studi Perpustakaan dan Sains Informasi Fakultas Ekonomi dan Ilmu Sosial Universitas Sari Mutiara Indonesia sudah mulai mengetahui dan mampu memahami bagaimana cara penggunaan aplikasi iPusnas.]]>

<![CDATA[Digital training in rural communities plays a crucial role in enhancing information technology literacy and community empowerment. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a digital training program implemented in Pugu Village, Air Hangat Barat Subdistrict, Kerinci Regency, which focuses on basic computer skills, internet access and usage, and digital applications in daily life. The research method used is a combination of lectures and practical assessments for training participants. The results show that digital training significantly improves participants' understanding and skills in information technology. Furthermore, the program also increases community participation in various information and communication technology (ICT) activities and opens up new economic opportunities for the community through small-scale digital-based businesses. This study emphasizes the importance of digital training programs as a strategic step to reduce the digital divide and strengthen the capacity of rural communities in facing technological advancements.]]>

<![CDATA[In today's era of technological advancement, libraries are no longer merely buildings providing books and services, but also function as facilitators of community empowerment. Libraries have a more complex function in building an empowered community. The social inclusion-based library transformation program is a strategic effort to expand the library's function as a learning center, a center for community activities, and a means of socio-economic development. This study aims to describe the social inclusion-based library transformation program as a center for community activities at the Sungai Penuh City Library and Archives Office. The study used a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and documentation, then analyzed using thematic analysis. The results show that libraries have played a role as an information center, an educational recreation center, a center for cultural preservation, a center for community empowerment, and a center for improving the quality of human resources. These findings indicate that libraries are capable of becoming hubs for community social activities and contributing to increased welfare. Future research is recommended to examine the creative economy and the inclusiveness of library services in more depth. Keywords: library; transformation; social inclusion; society]]>
