Abstract

Sorghum is one type of cereal plant that is easy to cultivate. The use of local varieties in crop cultivation is very good because it can reduce the potential for crop failure. One way to increase crop productivity is by regulating plant density. The aim of the study was to determine the right number of tillers to optimize growth and yield of sorghum from several local genotypes of East Java. The local genotypes used were Sb.Pas, Sb.Spg1 and Sb.Lmg2. The design used was a randomized block design with 9 treatments and 3 (three) replications. The data obtained from the study were analyzed using Variety Analysis, if there was a significant effect, then proceed with the 5% BNT test. The results of the analysis showed significant differences in all components of plant growth and yield observations except for the total dry weight of the plant. While the use of the same genotype showed results that were not significantly different. Better results were obtained with Sb.Spg1 + 3 treatment on the observation of the number of leaves and stem diameter, and Sb.Pas + 2 on the observation of plant height. Observation of the results of the treatment with fewer tillers gave better results in the observation of individual plants but not significantly different from the observations of clump-1 and plot-1. The results of the growth and production of sorghum are influenced by the genotype of the plant, the environment and the attack of Plant Pest Organisms , especially leaf rust disease which is the main disease in sorghum plants.

Abstract

An environment that is clean from rubbish is an environment that everyone hopes for. The amount of waste produced by humans will increase in proportion to the increase in population, type of activity and level of population consumption of goods. Mekarjaya Village is a village in Bayongbong sub-district, Garut Regency which has a population of 1187 people. With this population, it is very likely that waste will accumulate if it is not managed properly. At the Garut Institute of Technology's Thematic KKN activities in 2023, it was identified that there was a buildup of rubbish in a location that had not been organized. Therefore, one of the community service activities will be activities that focus on environmental cleanliness. This is done with the aim of creating a more organized environment and a cleaner and healthier environment. To achieve this goal, joint environmental cleaning activities were carried out, providing rubbish bins and waste sorting education to educate residents about the importance of waste management to achieve environmental cleanliness.

Abstract

Awareness of online/digital ethics and the ability to sort information are very important for everyone to have. We have analyzed this awareness and ability in Mekarjaya Village, a village located in Bayongbong District, Garut. With the majority of the population working as farmers and farm labourers, digital literacy is an important aspect in efforts to develop the potential of society in the ever-evolving digital era. Students in Mekarjaya Village are also increasingly connected online, but they are often faced with limited internet access and a lack of awareness about online ethics. This study aims to understand the importance of building online ethical awareness and the ability to sort information among students in Mekarjaya Village. To achieve this goal, a digital literacy program and digital ethics briefing have been implemented in one of the junior high schools in Mekarjaya village, namely Persis Al-Manar Middle School. The methods used include lectures, discussions, and questions and answers. The results showed an increase in students' understanding of digital literacy and digital ethics, as well as improvements in their online behavior. This research provides important insights into the challenges and potentials of digital literacy in rural areas and offers solutions in the form of relevant educational programs.

Abstract

Water guava is one type of fruit plant that contains quite a lot of nutrients, so it is very liked by most people. Deli honey water guava is one of the superior cultivars which is an introduced variety from Taiwan under the name Jade Rose Aple. This water guava has long been growing in North Sumatra for ± 10 years. The leaves on the water guava plant are included in the type of single leaf which are located scattered on the branches and twigs of the tree, the basic shape of the leaves is oval with a flat leaf edge. The tip of the leaf is blunt and the base is rounded which has a length of about 13-20 cm and a width of 5-7 cm. Water guava flowers are compound flowers, they are shaped like coral, located in the armpits of the leaves and the flower petals are funnel-shaped. Yellowish green flower color, stamens measuring 3.5 cm, white and there are more than 20 stamens. This research was conducted in Pancakarya Village, Ajung District, Jember Regency which was carried out on 26 September 2020 to 25 November 2020. The purpose of measuring the correlation between plant organs and plant productivity, the method used was correlation regression. Very low correlation occurs between branch length and diameter of the base, middle and tip as well as correlation between unit fruit weight and fruit diameter and fruit length.length). Abstract

Pada dunia desain grafis, jenis font merupakan satu kesatuan yang sangat penting dalam menciptakan karya yang tidak hanya menarik secara visual, tetapi juga mampu meningkatkan nilai estetika dan komunikasi pesan. Banyak sekali jenis font yang tersedia di berbagai website atau platform digital yang dapat diunduh dengan mudah, baik secara gratis maupun dengan cara berbayar. Di era digital saat ini, perkembangan dan kemajuan teknologi semakin mendukung serta mempermudah para desainer grafis atau komunikasi visual dalam menciptakan desain font sebagai bagian dari karya mereka. Selain itu, desain grafis juga memegang peranan penting dalam pembuatan logo, yang memerlukan proses eksplorasi dan pemilihan yang cermat agar sesuai dengan identitas visual suatu merk. Namun, dengan banyaknya jenis dan gaya font yang tersedia, seringkali perencana visual dan teknisi frontend menghadapi tantangan yang menimbulkan masalah dalam mengenali dan memilih gaya teks yang tepat untuk setiap proyek desain. Oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan sebuah sistem yang mampu membantu dalam proses identifikasi dan klasifikasi font secara otomatis dan efisien. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan sebuah model Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) yang dapat digunakan untuk klasifikasi gambar produk font secara otomatis. Penelitian ini menggunakan data kuantitatif yang dikumpulkan melalui proses eksperimen awal. Setelah dilakukan pengujian, hasil menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan optimizer Adam menghasilkan akurasi klasifikasi yang tinggi, mencapai 96.77%. Dengan demikian, implementasi CNN terbukti efektif dalam mengklasifikasikan produk font, yang dapat membantu para desainer grafis dalam membuat keputusan yang lebih cepat dan tepat terkait pemilihan font. Hal ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan produktivitas serta kualitas hasil desain grafis secara keseluruhan, sekaligus meminimalkan kesalahan pemilihan jenis font.Kata kunci: Produk Font; Convolutional Neural Network; KlasifikasiAbstractIn the world of graphic design, font types are a very important unit in creating works that are not only visually appealing, but also able to increase the aesthetic value and communication of messages. There are many types of fonts available on various websites or digital platforms that can be easily downloaded, either for free or for a fee. In today's digital era, the development and advancement of technology increasingly support and facilitate graphic designers or visual communication in creating font designs as part of their work. In addition, graphic design also plays an important role in creating logos, which require a careful exploration and selection process to match the visual identity of a brand. However, with the many types and styles of fonts available, visual planners and frontend technicians often face challenges that cause problems in recognizing and choosing the right text style for each design project. Therefore, a system is needed that can assist in the process of identifying and classifying fonts automatically and efficiently. The purpose of this study is to develop a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) model that can be used for automatic classification of font product images. This study uses quantitative data collected through an initial experimental process. After testing, the results showed that the use of the Adam optimizer produced high classification accuracy, reaching 96.77%. Thus, the implementation of CNN has proven effective in classifying font products, which can help graphic designers make faster and more accurate decisions regarding font selection. This is expected to increase productivity and the overall quality of graphic design results, while minimizing errors in selecting font types.

Abstract

This study aims to develop animated learning media on the topic of human creation in the Qur’an to enhance students’ understanding. The study is grounded in the need for interactive and contextual learning media in the digital era, particularly in Islamic Religious Education at the university level. This research employed a research and development method involving need analysis, design, development, expert validation, product revision, and limited trials. The results indicated that the developed animated learning media demonstrated excellent feasibility based on evaluation by content and media experts. Limited trials revealed improved student understanding and positive responses regarding visual presentation, clarity of narration, and ease of comprehension. In conclusion, the animated learning media is considered feasible and effective as an innovative technology-based tool for teaching Islamic Religious Education in higher education.
