Abstract

Samsat as one of the government offices that are frequently visited by the public has very minimal facilities and making people very uncomfortable and have to use the services of brokers to take care of motor vehicle documents. Abstract

Introduction & Objectives : Cataracts are a common age-related ocular disorder leading to blindness. As the role of oral vitamins in the prevention of cataracts remains controversial, various studies have investigated the potential association between oral vitamin supplementation and risk of cataracts. This review aims to find association between oral vitamins and the risk of cataracts. Methods : A thorough literature research was conducted on online databases (PubMed, ProQuest, and Cochrane) and hand-searching. This review incorporates human studies in the past decade (2013-2023), conducted concerning the correlation between various kinds of oral vitamins and cataracts. All studies shall be published in English and be available in full-text journals. Results : The majority of studies indicated that vitamin C, vitamin E, and multivitamin supplementations were associated with lower risks of cataract incidence. Two articles had similar relative risks (RR) for vitamin C (RR = 0.80-0.81), one article had RR of 0.90 for vitamin E, while two others had RR of 0.66 and hazard risk (HR) of 0.91 for multivitamin. However, one cohort stated otherwise as both vitamin C and vitamin E increased the risk of developing cataracts (HR = 1.21 and 1.59, respectively), while multivitamin had no association (HR = 0.96). Conclusion : Oral multivitamin, vitamin C, and E have a significant association with cataracts. Further research is needed to specify the efficacy of each vitamin.

Abstract

Abstract Introduction & Objectives : Low-concentration atropine eye drops have emerged as a promising therapy for the management of myopia. However, the effectiveness of atropine for myopia has not been widely studied. This paper aims to analyze the efficacy of low-concentration atropine eye drops for progression of myopia. Methods : A comprehensive literature search was performed on 3 online databases: PubMed, Cochrane, and ProQuest. We used 'Low-concentration atropine eye drops’, ‘Atropine’, ‘Eye Drops’, ‘Myopia’, and their MeSH terms as keywords. All studies included in analysis were available in English and full text format. We analyzed children myopia progression rates from all studies. We used Rayyan, an online-based tool, to conduct the screening process. Results : Three randomized control trials (RCTs), two cohort studies, and three case report studies with a total of 1389 participants were analyzed. Most studies were done in Asia, except one RCT in Australia. The participants range from 4-12 years old. Atropine eye drops concentrations that had been used were 0,01%, 0,025%, 0,05%, 0,1%, 0,125%, and 0,2%. All studies showed slower progression rate of myopia compared to the control group (-0,31 D vs -0,90 D; -0,05 D vs -1,05 D; -0,27 D vs -0,81 D; -0,28 D vs -0,54 D; -0,18 D vs -0,45 D;−0.31 D vs −0.76 D; -0.91 vs -1.00 D; -0,38D vs -0,55 D) with P < 0,05, except one study P = 0,94. Conclusion : Low-concentration atropine eye drops have shown promising effects in slowing progression of myopia. However, further research is needed, particularly in non-Asian countries.

Abstract

ICT as a common tool has been used for all the aspect of life and its impact to support the English teaching and learning especially for listening and speaking skills. The recent study aims to explore the kinds of ICT tools for listening and speaking skills in English teaching and learning and also to investigate the advantages and challenges of using those tools in digital globalization era. The method of this study is literature review with narrative review approach. This study focused on integrating different kinds of ICT tools to enhance listening as well as speaking skill and the advantages and challenges in using it. The types of ICT are divided into 2 which are non-web-based learning included (1) movie/film, (2) radio and television, (3) LCD projector, and (4) language lab and web-based learning included (1) website, (2) application, and (3) You-Tube. Then, present information and explanation the advantages and challenges of those ICT tools in digital globalization era. The result of this study is expected to be beneficial as references for educators in understanding the kinds of ICT tools for listening and speaking skills and also the advantages and challenges in using it for English teaching and learning in digital globalization era.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The development of housing is one of the primary needs that must be met for human survival. As time goes on, humans grow very quickly with the increasing need for housing, also economically for the lower middle class people, the more diverse jobs that require people to no longer be able to own a house because of land and expensive housing prices. Therefore we need a place to live that can be inhabited en masse for low-income people. For the sake of creating an ideal urban and population structure, rental flats can be one solution. Planning and designing rental flats that are livable and a healthy, safe, harmonious, and sustainable environment as well as creating integrated settlements to build economic, social and cultural. In the design of graded building is important to note several criteria, referring to The Regulation of Minister of Public Housing of Republic Indonesian Number 10 in 2012 is about Implementation of Housing and Residential Areas with Balanced Occupancy. In this writing, the design of TPI Rental Flats is using site location data, namely residential areas with an area according to the selected location is very open to developing flats that are integrated with the surrounding residential environment as well as environmental data around the site, such as sun and wind. Based on design result, it was obtained that the design concept of TPI Rental Flats in Pontianak is emphasized on Metaphor concept, so in design can representing livable life for low-income residents. Then the rooms designed in the TPI Rental Flats are consist of 3 types, namely type 36 as many 20 rooms, type 45 as many 15 rooms and type 60 as many 20 rooms with a total occupant of 737 persons. In calculating the reservoir requirements, the volume of the upper reservoir is 60.4 m3 with dimensions of 2 x 8 x 1.2 m for 2 pieces, while the lower reservoir is 90.6 m3 with dimensions of 4 x 8 x 1.8 m for 1 unit. In designing a fire protection system, the number of hydrants used in the building is 9 with a volume of 410400 liters, the number of yard hydrants used is 9 with a volume of 1539000 liters and the number of sprinklers used is 454 with a volume of 232902 liters, so that the total water requirement is 2182302 liters. For designing the dimensions of the structure, the dimensions of the columns used are 50x50 cm and the dimensions of the main beams and the joists respectively are 35x75 cm and 25x50 cm. Abstract

This study was focused on the challenges in implementing eclectic method faced by English instructors at one of the non-formal educations in Palangka Raya, namely Global Learning Center (GLC). The English instructors used eclectic methods to maximize the teaching and learning process in order to achieve the learning goals. The implementation of eclectic method is still new and there is no research about it yet in Palangka Raya. This study intended to investigate the challenges of implementing it in non-formal education. To obtain the objective, the researcher used descriptive qualitative design. The descriptive used to provide rich descriptive details of the challenges in implementing eclectic method. The data were collected through interview and documentation. The result data analysis was found four challenges when implementing the eclectic method, they were (1) managing the time, (2) students’ gap and diversity, (3) designing appropriate lesson plan using eclectic method, and (4) motivating the students to speak. Hopefully, this research can give an insight for teachers and other English course to know the challenges before implementing the eclectic method. They need to be well-prepared in combining several methods in each learning process with considering the allocation time, variation of student backgrounds, and the strategy to motivate the students. For the other researcher, this research is still widely open for those who want to investigate and examine deeply about eclectic method. Keywords: challenges, eclectic method, speaking
