Abstract

Water demand should be balance with water availability. The population of Bogor City was increased every year, so that water demand become increased. Currently, Government of Bogor City only utilizes the Cisadane river as a source for drinking water, but Bogor City has 2 rivers there are Cisadane river and Ciliwung river. So, Ciliwung river can be solution for this problem. Water discharge and rainfall influence water availability. Distribution log pearson type 3 used to predict the water discharge and rainfall and linier regression analyzed the relationship between water discharge (dependent variable) with rainfall as X1 and water level as X2 (independent variable). The result of distribution log pearson type 3 every return period 2, 5, 10, 25, dan 50 years is water discharge and rainfall were increased. Average increase of water discharge every return period is 1.6 m3/s and average increase of rainfall every return period is 251 mm. Partially, water discharge influenced by water level 97.7% and 2% by rainfall. But, = 0.000 < = 0.05. it is mean rainfall and water level cannot be ignored because it can influence water discharge with regression model = -3.01 + 0.000 X1 + 0.202 X2.

Abstract

Forests are a source of landscape services that are important for the sustainability of ecosystems. The Ministry of Forestry has provided access to village communities to manage forest areas legally, through a village forest scheme with management access rights for 35 years. Participatory mapping is a type of public participation that includes the creation and/or use of spatial information for various purposes. Spatial data allows the identification of relationships between landscape services and landscape characteristics and administrative units. This study aims to identify the potential characteristics and service potentials of the Pattaneteang Village Forest area. The method used in this research is spatial analysis carried out on land use maps based on drone images in Pattaneteang Village and qualitative methods in the form of structured interviews, questionnaires, and focus group discussions. The results showed the quality of landscape services for biodiversity and stored carbon in the Village of Pattaeneteang was in the “very good” level, having a high-value economic role with a total score of 9 in Utilization Village Forest. The total score of the cultural role of the Pattanateang Village Forest is 4 for the Disputed Village Forest and the Utilization Village Forest, which means that it has low cultural value and a value of 5 for the Core Village Forest area which means moderate cultural value.

Abstract

This article discusses the environmental assessment caused by the commercial use of groundwater by the community as landowners. In the future, this practice must receive direction and responsibility from the government as policymakers to prevent and repair environmental damage, especially habitat damage and species in strengthening the principle of "paying for commercial groundwater" with the REA methodology to assess and compensate for environmental damage. This method, developed by the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), uses the scale of remediation required to compensate for past, current and future damage. The compensation approaches are the services approach (or the resources approach) and the valuation approach (the value-to-value and value-to-cost approach). The results show that the change in residential land is 0.16%, or 25 ha. The total area of changed settlement/land built up has decreased the function of land which was originally secondary/logged-over dry land forest to become settlement/land built up. Furthermore, there was a decrease in secondary/logged-over dry land forest to open field of 0.03% or 3.1 ha, so that the total area of secondary/logged-over dry land forest decreased by 0.19% or 28.1 ha.
