Abstract

This study aims to look at the variables that affect financial sustainability. The data used are banking financial statement data contained in the FSS in 2013 to 2017. The value used to measure financial sustainability is FSS. The value of FSS as the dependent variable is divided into two categories, namely banks that are sustainable and banks that are not sustainable. Response variables used are financial ratios consisting of ROA, ROE, CTD, LTD, DTA, and CTA. The analysis used is logistic regression. Based on the results of the logistic regression model that is formed, a significant variable influences sustainability is ROA and LTA. The odds ratio values for the ROA and ROE variables are 1.2 and 2.2. This means that there is an increasing trend of 1.2 and 2.2 times for better financial sustainability with each added value of ROA and ROE. In other words, the greater the value of ROA or ROE, the greater the possibility of banking for financial sustainability. Chi-square test shows the p-value of 0.27 is greater than alpha. This shows the model meets the goodness of fit. Keywords: Financial Sustainability, Financial Ratio, Logistic Regression, Odds Ratio

Abstract

This study aims to determine the efficiency level of Islamic Rural Banks (BPRS) in South Sulawesi and determine what influences it. The study population is the BPRS in South Sulawesi registered with the Financial Services Authority (OJK). The study sample used the purposive sampling method and obtained 7 BPRS in South Sulawesi. The data source comes from the quarterly financial reports of the BPRS. The analysis technique is two stages – data envelopment analysis (DEA). The results of the first stage, using DEA, found that the average efficiency of the BPRS Indo Timur, Dana Moneter, Surya Sejati, Investama Mega Bakti and Harta Insan Karimah Makassar was 1, Niaga Madani was 0.829, while Gowata was 0.993. The second stage, using Tobit regression, found that fixed assets, operating costs, and operating income showed significant results in the alpha value. Meanwhile, total savings, profit-sharing financing, and productive assets showed no significant results on the alpha value. The first stage concludes that the BPRS in South Sulawesi is not included in the efficient level. In the second stage, the variables of fixed assets, operating costs, and operating income partially affect the efficiency value of the BPRS.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the factors that affect the financial sustainability of conventional banks and sharia banks in Indonesia. Data obtained from the financial statements of conventional commercial banks and Islamic commercial banks have been published by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) for the period 2014 to 2018. The total population used in this study are all conventional and Sharia banks that publish their financial statements on the OJK. The research variables used include Financial Self Sufficiency (FSS) as the dependent variable. Return on assets (ROA), Cash to deposits (CTD), Loans to assets (LTA), Deposits to assets (DTA) as independent variables. The analysis used is the tree classification. The tree classification method requires the dependent variable in the form of categorical data. Processing results show that three financial performance factors affect financial sustainability, namely ROA, LTA, and DTA. Error in the analysis process is 29%. So that the accuracy of using the tree classification method in predicting the factors that affect banking financial sustainability is 71%.

Abstract

Islamic Rural Banks (BPRS) have an essential function for developing the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector. For the BPRS to exist and not be liquidated, the BPRS needs to maintain its financial efficiency. This study aims to determine the efficiency of a BPRS in East Java. Then, this is to find out what affects the efficiency. Two Stages-Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) calculate the efficiency. The first stage of data analysis is carried out by assessing the efficiency of the BPRS. The second stage is the analysis of variables that affect efficiency using logistic regression. This analysis also uses the description of the year of the Covid pandemic as a predictor variable. The results of this study found that the BPRS in East Java was categorized as inefficient (inefficiency). However, from the 20 samples used, there are three efficient BPRS based on the average individual BPRS during the 2012-2020 period. Based on logistic regression analysis, it is known that the factors that affect the efficiency of BPRs include Operational Costs and Operating Income, Earning Assets, and the pandemic era.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to examine the relationship between various factors and the performance of Islamic commercial banks in Indonesia over the next 12 periods. The variables considered include Non-Performing Assets, Capital Adequacy Ratio, Insolvency-risk, Inflation, Financial Technology, and Bank Size. The research methodology employed is a quantitative approach with a descriptive analysis. The sampling technique utilized is saturated sampling, resulting in a total of 96 data points. The findings indicate that the Non-Performing Assets (NPA) variable has a significant impact on Return on Assets (ROA), while the ROA variable does not significantly affect the NPA variable. Additionally, the inflation variable does not have a statistically significant effect on ROA, and vice versa. In the short term, the variables that influence bank performance are NPA, Capital Adequacy Ratio, Insolvency-risk, Financial Technology, and Bank Size. In the long term, significant factors influencing bank performance are NPA, Insolvency-risk, Financial Technology, and Bank Size. The Impulse Response Function (IRF) test demonstrates that ROA shows a positive response to the impact of NPA, Capital Adequacy Ratio, Inflation, Financial Technology, and Bank Size, while it exhibits a negative response to shocks caused by inflation. Throughout the study period, the variable with the greatest contribution remains Financial Technology, followed by other variables. Ultimately, the aim of this study is to provide insights for future policy implementation and decision-making within companies

Abstract

This study aims to see whether the stability of Islamic banks is sufficiently dependent on financial technology and several financial ratios. The research was conducted at Islamic banks in Indonesia and Malaysia. To get the research sample used, a purposive sampling technique. The research sample consisted of 14 Islamic banks and was observed from 2017 to 2021. The analytical method uses panel data regression. The research results show. Capital Adequacy Ratio, Non-Performing financing (NPF), Equity-to-Assets Ratio (EAR) and firm size significantly affect bank stability, while financial technology, Assets Turnover, and Cost to Income Ratio (CIR) have no significant effect. Bank stability is one of the determinants of the goodness of state finances, so it needs to be a concern. Banks can increase capital values and firm size, then maintain NPF and EAR values to keep bank financial stability. Even though several other factors are not significant, banks still need to maintain the stability of their value so that the impact does not get worse.
