AbstractIncreased prevalence of the elderly will have an impact on health development. This is because in the elderly there is a physiological decline in all body systems, which results in various health problems in the elderly. The main health problems generally experienced by the elderly are hypertension and DM. One program to prevent and control complaints due to DM and hypertension is to do primary prevention with acupressure therapy. Acupressure therapy is one of the therapies that can be done easily that is obtained through training. Training is provided with the aim of comparing the behavior (knowledge, attitudes and skills) of elderly cadres about acupressure therapy before and after training. Community service is carried out through lecture, discussion and acupressure practices. Based on community service that has been done, it can be concluded that the target is mostly in the age group of 40-50 years, 30 people (60%), and most of the female sex is 45 people (90%), target knowledge increases based on good knowledge categories from 20 people (40%) to 35 people (70%), and an increase in attitudes with a very good category from 17 people (34%) to 38 people (76%). For the target audience it is recommended to maintain and improve behavior in acupressure and apply it every day, so as to overcome complaints of hypertension and DM in the elderly during the implementation of the elderly posyandu. Keywords: Elderly; Acupressure; Hypertension; DM.

Rheumatoid arthritis is a musculoskeletal disease often attack the small joints in elderly and causes lower extremities pain. The complementary medicine that can reduce the pain scale of rheumatoid arthritis is warm ginger compress and back massage. The aim of this study was to determine the difference of warm ginger compress and back massage to reduce the lower extremities pain in elderly with rheumatoid. This was a quasi-experimental design study (two-group pre-post). There were 30 samples devided into two groups, warm ginger compress and back massage. Data was collected with NRS which consist 0-10. Both of this therapy are given every two days for two weeks with 10 minutes for duration. The result of Wilcoxon Rank Test for within group warm ginger compress and back massage indicated that there was influence warm ginger compress and back massage to reduce the lower extremities pain, which is showed by p= 0,000 on warm ginger compress group and p= 0,001 on back massage group. The result of Mann Whitney test indicated that there was differences between warm ginger compress and back massage to reduce the lower extremities pain scale which is showed by p= 0,017. Most respondents says that warm ginger compress is more effective than back massage showed by the cost, time and experience during intervention. Based on this study, it is recommended to apply warm ginger compress to reduce the lower extremities pain scale in elderly with rheumatoid arthritis.

Abstract

Pain is an unpleasant symptom experienced by patients who undergoing post surgery of TURP BPH. One technique used to reduce pain after surgery is early mobilization techniques. This study aimed to determine the effect of early mobilization on reducing pain scale in post surgery patients with TURP BPH. The design of this study was one group pre-post test design with a pre-experimental design, with a total sample was 12 respondents using purposive sampling technique. The instrument used in this study was guide sheet in the form of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and a pain gauge in the form of Numeric Rating Scale (NRS). Pain scale before early mobilization, 2 respondents (16.7%) were with pain scale 6 and 3 respondents (25%) were with pain scale 3. After early mobilization, 1 respondent (8.3%) was with pain scale 5 and 3 respondents ( 25%) were with pain scale 2. Wilcoxon test results obtained p-value = 0.0001 0.05, it means that the provision of early mobilization had a significant effect on pain scale reduction in post surgery patients with TURP Benign Prostate Hyperplasia (BPH) in Bima Ward Sanjiwani Regional Hospital Gianyar. The results of the study concluded that there was effect on pain scale reduction in post surgery patients with TURP BPH. The results of the study are expected to be used as a reference in enhancing the development of independent interventions on acute pain nursing problems.

Abstract

Hypertension is often called the “silent killer”. Hypertension is a condition when blood pressure in blood vessels continues to increase chronically where systolic blood pressure ≥ 140 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure ≥ 90 mmHg. Hypertension can be controlled with non pharmalocogical treatment, one of them is young coconut water, because the content of potassium contained in young coconut water is very useful to reduce systolic and diastolic blood pressure. This study aims to determine the effect of giving young coconut water against blood pressure in hypertension patients at UPTD Puskesmas 1 South Denpasar 2021. The type of this research was pre-experimental design with one group pretest-post test design using non probability sampling with purposive sampling. The number of sampels were 11 people. The study was conducted on April 2021. The result showed the mean systolic blood pressure and diastole before treatment 149,45/95,73 mmHg and after treatment 140,73/89,45 mmHg. Hypothesis testing used paired t-test with a value of p=0,000 0,05. It can be concluded that there is the effect of giving young coconut water on blood pressure in hypertension patients at UPTD Puskesmas 1 South Denpasar. Patients with hypertension should be able to use young coconut water as a cheap and efficient non-pharmacological therapy to lower blood pressure.

Abstract

Asthma is a chronic inflammatory disorder in the airway. The peak expiratory flow rate is one of the human lung function tests used to assess the ability of lung function and provide an image of the airway disorder. This study aims to determine the effect of Buteyko’s respiratory technique on peak expiratory flow rate in asthma patients. The type of research is Pre-Experimental Design with One-Group Pretest-Posttest using purposive sampling. The sample size is 22 people. The patient's peak expiratory flow rate is measured using a peak flow meter. The results of peak expiratory flow rate of the patient tested using paired t- test. The results showed that the peak expiratory flow rate prior to Buteyko’s respiratory technique of 75.764%, and after given breathing Buteyko's breathing techniques, peak expiratory flow rate of patients showed an increase to equal to 79.986%. Based on the results of the research, the value of ρ-value = 0.000 alpha (0,05), it can be concluded that there is influence of giving respiratory technique Buteyko can increase the peak expiratory flow rate in asthma patient. It is expected that the hospital to consider implementing Buteyko's breathing techniques for asthma patients.

Abstract

Patients with tuberculosis with weak immune systems susceptible to develop nosocomial infections, so that promotive and preventive efforts are needed while the patient is in control of treatment. The aims of this study is to determine the effect of health education with audiovisual media to prevention of COVID-19 nosocomial infection behavior at Patient with pulmonary tuberculosis at Community Health Center Seririt I. This research was conducted in April 2021. The type of this research is Pre- Experimental designs with One-Group Pretest-Posttest design. The sample was selected using purposive sampling technique with 11 respondents. The results showed that the average value of pulmonary tuberculosis patient behavior before being given audiovisual health education, is 57,15 in the sufficient category and after education with audiovisual media 85,34 in the good category. The paired T-test results ρ - value = 0.001 α (0.05), that mean health education with audiovisual media is effective for changing  behavior of pulmonary tuberculosis patients in the prevention of COVID-19 nosocomial infection. Health service providers such as puskesmas can increase health promotion efforts, especially for pulmonary TB patients so that they are not exposed to nosocomial infections.

Abstract

The study aims to compare the effectiveness of the use of intravenous fluids heating element and heating lamps for post operative shivering. Methods of pre-experimental research studies (static group camparison/posttest design). The sample consisted of 20 people divided into the two group: group of intravenous fluids heating element and heating lamps group. The result of the treatment group heating element intravenous fluids, the time required to stop shivering average of 32,5 minutes, and the treatment group heating lamp until the shivering stops takes an average 50,4 minutes. In the Mann Whitney test, the value of p=0.000. It means that there are differences in effectiveness between the use of intravenous fluids heating elements and heating lamp in which the use of intravenous fluids heating elements are more effective than the use of heating lamps to overcome shivering in patient post operative.
