Abstract

To track back the History of Photography is like unraveling a messy ball ofyarn. Photography is considered a new form of art. lts origin started on 17thcentury as discovered by a Fine Artist and then followed along the way byscientists, philosophers and otherartists from different branches of arts. Theearly stage of photography focused more on the technique of developing,from the invention of plates and the negative-positive process. Thedevelopment of camera instruments such as the invention of lenses, shuttersand others went simultanously along the way.Keywords: History, Photography, Fine Art

Abstract

ABSTRACT Found object dalam judul penelitian penciptaan ini menjadi sebuah pendekatan yang pada akhirnyaakan memunculkan cara pandang baru bagi peneliti dalam menciptakan karya fotogram. Pengenalan fotogram dalam proses berkarya peneliti diawali saat masih di bangku kuliah, sebagai salah satu bagian terkecil dari proses panjang dalam menuntut ilmu. Pendalaman teknik fotogram yang dilakukan kemudian adalah dimulai pada tahun 2016 yang membuat peneliti memutuskan untuk berhenti menggunakan perangkat kamera untuk menciptakan karya. Selama kurun waktu 4 tahun peneliti mencapai hasil visualisasi dengan menggunakan metode penciptaan yang sesuai dengan apa yang peneliti ketahui selama ini. Hal di atas akan sangat berbeda pada penelitian penciptaan kali ini, yang menggunakan pendekatan found object, di mana peneliti harus mencari atau melakukan observasi di sekitar peneliti hingga menemukan sesuatu yang menarik dan peneliti anggap memiliki nilai artistik, hingga pada akhirnya objek temuan tersebut akan peneliti jadikan sebagai objek utama untuk dilakukan penyinaran atau eksposur. Pengembangan yang akan dilakukan penelitipada penelitian artistik berjudul “Found Object sebagai Pendekatan Proses Visualisasi pada Teknik Fotogram” kali ini berkaitan dengan pendekatan found object seperti yang telah disampaikan sebelumnya, serta proses eksposur atau penyinaran yang berbeda dengan sebelumnya. Kali ini peneliti akan melakukan penyinaran tanpa menggunakan enlarger dan dilakukan secara horizontal. Adapun sumber cahaya yang akan peneliti gunakan adalah lampu senter, cahaya lilin, lampu belajar dan beberapa jenis sumber cahaya lain yang memungkinakan untuk dilakukan eksperimentasi.

Abstract

ABSTRAK“Meriwayatkan Jarak dan Rembulan yang Terserak” adalah sebuah buku foto karya seorang fotografer bernama Aji Susanto Anom. Pada buku foto tersebut terdapat konflik adanya jarak yang memisahkan Aji dengan istrinya. Tujuan penelitian ini menjabarkan tanda dan makna yang muncul dalam karya tersebut melalui teori semiotika Charles Sanders Peirce melalui identifikasi jenis tanda ikon, indeks, dan simbol, dan mendeskripsikan makna yang terkandung dalam setiap fotonya. Metode penelitian yang dipakai yaitu kualitatif interpretif dengan mengklasifikasikan semua tanda yang terdapat pada 7 foto karya Aji dalam buku foto tersebut. Hasil analisis menunjukan adanya hubungan antara komponen tanda, seperti ikon, indeks, dan simbol yang mengandung makna-makna dari cerita perjalanan Aji melewati fase-fase kerinduan terhadap istrinya. Kata Kunci : Meriwayatkan Jarak dan Rembulan yang Terserak, Fotografi, dan Teori Semiotika Charles Sanders Peirce.

Abstract

Using a darkroom to create photogram works often gives rise to findings related to the effectiveness and efficiency of using light in the enlarger in the darkroom as well as findings to deal with problems that exist when in the darkroom. This then inspired the desire to carry out an experiment that would be useful when researchers carried out the photogram technique, but could be done outside the dark room. Through this research, it is hoped that the aim will be to obtain a solution to the problems that the researcher stated in the previous paragraph. In this applied research efforts are made to apply the research results which can be used to develop creative photography experiments, especially the photogram technique. The darkroom is an important space that must exist in the analog era. A dark room is a room that is literally dark with several devices such as enlargers and chemicals that are used for the image development process. The darkroom or darkroom is a manifestation of the development of the camera obscura in the 18th century. Portable darkrooms became very popular among artists/photographers because of their practicality in being able to travel with them, or dark-room wagons which were usually attached to a horse-drawn carriage or stroller. It is hoped that this research can provide a useful solution in terms of ease and practicality in carrying out photogram techniques so that the illumination process can be carried out outdoors (not in a dark room) so that it has more value as when using a conventional camera.
