Abstract

The heart is a vital organ that plays a crucial role in pumping oxygenated blood and nutrients throughout the body. Heart disease refers to damage to the heart that can occur in various forms, caused by infections or congenital abnormalities. The World Health Organization (WHO) reports nearly 17.9 million deaths each year due to heart disease. In Indonesia, the prevalence of heart disease is around 1.5%, meaning that in 2018, approximately 15 out of 1,000 people, or nearly 2,784,060 individuals, were affected by this disease, according to the Basic Health Research data (Riskesdas) 2018. Many people have limited knowledge about heart health, leading to a lack of awareness of their heart conditions. This can be attributed to a lack of understanding regarding the importance of medical checkups related to heart health. Modified K-Nearest Neighbors (MKNN) is one of the data mining methods applied for classifying the risk of heart disease. The research utilized data obtained from the UCI dataset repository, which consists of 918 records with 12 attributes. To balance the imbalanced dataset with minority classes, the Synthetic Minority Over-sampling Technique (SMOTE) approach was used to generate new synthetic samples from the minority class. The objective of developing a web-based system for heart disease classification is to assist the public in assessing their risk of heart disease as early as possible, enabling them to take preventive actions sooner. The accuracy results of the MKNN algorithm with a 90:10 ratio are 80.37%, while with the MKNN+SMOTE approach, the accuracy increased to 84.00%. The use of the SMOTE approach improved the accuracy of low-performing data.

Abstract

Indonesia, with its rich biodiversity, has great potential in medicinal plants that can be utilized in cosmetic products. The use of natural ingredients in cosmetics, such as moisturizers, is increasingly in demand because of its ability to improve skin health at a relatively lower cost. Moisturizers function to overcome dry skin problems and maintain skin moisture by reducing water loss and protecting it from environmental impacts. This study aims to identify plants with potential antioxidant activity for use in facial moisturizer formulations. The method used is a literature review from various sources, including journals and publications related to antioxidant activity. The results showed that Purple Sweet Potato Leaves (Ipomoea batatas) and Celery (Apium graveolens) have very strong antioxidant activity with IC50 values of 3.68 ppm and 19.66 ppm, respectively. Sonneratia caseolaris leaves also showed strong antioxidant activity with an IC50 value of 14.503 ppm. Other plants such as Virgin Coconut Oil (Cocos Nucifera), Malacca Fruit (Phyllanthus emblica), and Carrot Root (Daucus Carota) also have significant antioxidant activity, although with higher IC50 values. In conclusion, these plants show great potential for use in cosmetic formulations that can combat oxidative stress and maintain skin health.

Abstract

Processing used cooking oil into solid laundry soap is an effective solution to reduce environmental pollution while increasing the added value of household waste. On July 25, 2025, a training was held in Banjaran Cengklik Hamlet, Cukilan Village, Suruh District, Semarang Regency, with participants from the Family Welfare Movement (PKK) women. The activity aimed to provide education on the dangers of used cooking oil for health and the environment, training in soap processing skills, and encouraging the application of the 3R principle (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle). The methods used included counseling, sweetening, and hands-on practice. The results showed an increase in participants' knowledge and skills in utilizing used cooking oil into ready-to-use products, which have the potential to be developed as a household business. This training contributed to family economic empowerment and increased public awareness of sustainable waste management. This training also opened up opportunities for participants to develop micro-enterprises based on environmentally friendly waste management. With the new skills acquired, PKK women can start their own production of solid laundry soap, which not only reduces hazardous waste but also increases family income. Ongoing support from relevant parties, such as the provision of raw materials, product marketing, and ongoing training, will further strengthen the program's success. Furthermore, increased public awareness of the importance of used cooking oil waste management is expected to foster a broader environmental culture in the region. This success can also serve as a model for other villages implementing similar programs, allowing for a broader positive impact. With an integrated approach, used cooking oil waste management can become an integral part of a sustainable development strategy at the local level.

Abstract

General Background: Efficient distribution systems are essential in logistics, especially in geographically complex regions like Indonesia. Specific Background: PT. Sinar Genta Logistik distributes three-wheeled Viar motorcycles using double-deck trucks but has not yet optimized its delivery routes. Knowledge Gap: Although the Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) method has been widely applied in solving distribution problems, its application in routing three-wheeled vehicle shipments with fleet capacity constraints using real industry data is limited. Aims: This study aims to optimize delivery routes to reduce travel distance and improve route allocation by applying the ACO algorithm. Results: Using Python programming on Google Colab, the ACO method reduced the total travel distance from 1,849.8 km to 1,556.5 km—a reduction of 293.3 km or 15.86%. The new routing model reorganized deliveries into six vehicle routes adjusted to truck capacity. Novelty: The research applies ACO specifically for the distribution of Viar three-wheeled vehicles with real-world data, integrating Google Maps-based routing and considering capacity constraints. Implications: The findings offer a practical solution for logistics firms to decrease operational distance and adopt algorithm-based distribution strategies for cost efficiency and timely deliveries. Highlights: ACO reduced total delivery distance by 15.86%. Delivery restructured into six efficient routes. Uses real company data and Python-based ACO.
