Abstract

One of disaster-prone country in the world is Indonesia. Communities have to ready toward the disasters. To strengthen the community's readiness in dealing with disasters, knowledge must be increased. Better educational methods are needed to convey material, one of which is by utilizing technology. The purpose of this research was to build and test the SiBen application’s effectiveness as a media for disaster education to improve the readiness toward hurricane in Lubuklinggau community. The method was Research and Development (R&D) with experimental tests, Pre and post-test were applied in this study. Fourty people were given three meetings within 2 weeks. As the result, the participants have shown progression of readiness (t = 3.168, p < 0.002). The findings indicated that the SiBen Application was effective to improve the readiness of community toward hurricane.

Abstract

Henti jantung merupakan berhentinya fungsi jantung secara mendadak dan berakibat kematian jikatidak segera ditolong dengan CPR. Perlu adanya peningkatan kuantitas dan kualitas bystander CPRmelalui pendidikan dan pelatihan CPR menggunakan media simulasi yang bisa diandalkan, salahsatunya bantal CPR. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pelatihan CPRmenggunakan bantal CPR terhadap pengetahuan dan keterampilan remaja pecinta alam. Penelitianini menggunakan rancangan quasi-eksperimen dengan pendekatan pre dan post-test. Pelatihan CPRmenggunakan bantal CPR sebagai media simulasi. Sampel diambil dengan tehnik purposivesampling pada 40 remaja pecinta alam. Pengetahuan CPR diukur dari pengetahuan tentang OHCAyang diukur menggunakan kuesioner. Keterampilan diukur dari cara subjek melakukan CPRmenggunakan lembar ceklis SOP CPR dari PPNI. Hasil analisa data menggunakan uji t berpasanganmendapatkan hasil bahwa ada pengaruh yang signifikan dari pelatihan CPR menggunakan BantalCPR terhadap pengetahuan (t=-19.891) dan keterampilan (t=-37.749) remaja pecinta alam dengannilai p=0,0001. Berdasarkan hasil analisa dan pembahasan dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruhyang positif terkait pelatihan CPR menggunakan bantal CPR terhadap pengetahuan danketerampilan remaja pecinta alam tentang masalah OHCA dan CPR. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwabantal CPR efektif untuk digunakan sebagai media simulasi masyarakat dalam usaha meningkatkanpengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam penatalaksanaan OHCA. Abstract

This study aims to determine the knowledge of hurricane disasters among elementary school students in Lubuklinggau City. Children from an early age must be given a proper understanding of the forms of disasters that may hit their area and how to deal with disasters when they come suddenly. Children's vulnerability to disasters is triggered by limited understanding of the risks around them, which results in a lack of preparedness in dealing with disasters. Lubuklinggau City is one of the cities prone to hurricane disasters. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method. The survey was conducted to determine the description of the condition of students' knowledge about hurricane disasters and how to respond to them. Furthermore, a descriptive analysis was carried out. The data needed in this study are primary data obtained from distributing questionnaires to 6th grade elementary school students in Lubuklinggau City whose homes were affected by the hurricane disaster. The research findings show that students' knowledge about hurricane disasters is still at a low level.

Abstract

Knowledge gained during CPR training can decline over time. Periodic training is needed to minimize the decline in knowledge. This study used the development of a CPR pillow as a learning medium with a low-cost, low-fidelity mannequin. A total of 72 subjects in this study were given CPR education and training. Measurements were taken 4 times, namely before training, the second immediately after training, then the third and fourth times within a 2-month period. The results showed an increase in average knowledge immediately after training and a decrease 2 months after training although not significant. The use of a CPR pillow can ultimately help maintain CPR knowledge to overcome the high cost of training related to mannequins.
