Abstract

Introduction: Gastritis is a common gastrointestinal condition often associated with pain and discomfort. Exploring effective pain management strategies is crucial for enhancing the well-being of individuals affected by gastritis. This study investigates the potential effectiveness of progressive muscle relaxation therapy in alleviating pain among gastritis patients. Objective: This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of progressive muscle relaxation therapy in alleviating pain among patients diagnosed with gastritis. Methods: The research was conducted at BLUD RSU Banjar City from May 27 to May 31, 2022. The participant for this study was Mrs. I, a 62-year-old individual presenting complaints of pain in the left upper quadrant of the abdomen. Results: Findings from the case study indicated observable changes post-progressive muscle relaxation therapy. The patient exhibited signs of relaxation, and the pain scale, initially high, decreased to 4 within 2 days after the intervention. Further reduction to a pain scale of 2 was noted using the Numeric Rating Scale method. Conclusion: The study concludes that progressive muscle relaxation therapy exhibits promise in effectively reducing pain. Consequently, this therapeutic approach holds potential applicability in addressing acute pain issues among gastritis patients.

Abstract

Smoking is a habit or behavior that is very difficult to quit, especially for adolescents. To be able to stop smoking behavior, a strong belief (self-efficacay) is needed from the adolescent to stop smoking. The aim of this study is to determine the effect of empowerment through digital media on the self-efficacy of adolescent smokers at Senior High School. Method This study used a quasi-experimental design through a group pre-test and post-test design. The sampling technique was through convenience sampling, which amounted to 28 respondents. Collecting research data using the SEQ 12 (Smoking Self-Efficacy Questionaire) questionnaire instrument given at the pre-test and post-test stages. The collected data is then analyzed, which includes univariate analysis, namely analysis of demographic data and bivariate analysis to determine the effect of empowerment using digital media on the self-efficacy of adolescent smokers at SMA Negeri 2 Ciamis using the Wilcoxon test because the normality test results show abnormal data distribution. The results of the Wilcoxon test with a p-value of 0.002 <0.05, which means that there is a significant effect of empowerment using digital media on the self-efficacy of adolescent smokers at Senior High School. The conclusion based on the research that has been done is that empowerment with digital media has an effect on increasing the self-efficacy of adolescents to quit smoking.

Abstract

Objective: This case study is intended to intervene and implement the nutritional status of appendicitis patients in improving the wound healing process with nausea after appendicectomy surgery. Method: In the nursing care research process, methods were used which included assessment, nursing diagnoses, planning, implementation and evaluation which were carried out for 3 days in the Anggrek BLUD room at the Banjar City Hospital. Enforcement of nursing diagnoses refers to the Indonesian Nursing Diagnosis Standards (IDHS). Indonesian Nursing Intervention Standards (SIKI), Indonesian Nursing Outcome Standards (SLKI), and nursing evaluations are documented using the SOAPIER method. Result: Nursing diagnosis of Deficit Nutrition related to postoperative nausea, nutritional status assessment for 3 days was carried out on the healing of surgical wounds. From the results of the data analysis, the researcher concluded that the nursing problems experienced by clients were nutritional deficits (D.0019) associated with postoperative nausea. The problem of excessive nutritional deficits for clients is partially resolved, marked by the loss of feelings of nausea when given food, being able to digest food properly, measuring the client's body mass index which is found to be normal, improving the client's nutrition is fulfilled by consuming high-calorie, high-protein foods. Conclusion: Conclusions can be drawn in the results of the nursing procedure commencing with evaluation, identification of nursing issues, actions, execution, and assessment of nursing. Concluded the problem of nutritional deficits related to postoperative nausea with an appendectomy with an assessment of nutritional status can improve the wound healing process as indicated by the response of clients who obtain changes in nutritional status with the wound healing process. Assessment of nutritional status is proven to be able to improve the postoperative wound healing process, the benefits of assessing nutritional status by fulfilling the client's nutrition are maximally implemented if done periodically and in stages.
